Winter Solstice
[The whole climbing the tree thing, while frustrating and tedious, wasn't really hard. Keith was decent with rock climbing because of where he grew up, and this was a really wide tree, so it was just a matter of judging handholds and how far he had to reach. Though, when first looking at the tree, he definitely didn't seem enthusiastic about the idea of this being the only way to get up to where they needed to be.
He huffed a heavy sigh.]
Might as well get started.
[Once he reached their destination, however, he was definitely annoyed at the laughing. He glared at them, visibly angry.]
Right. Clearly we're just here for their amusement.
[If there was something Keith didn't like, it was bullies.]
=====
Dance
[Keith kept the robes on. He wasn't much of a dancer, but this didn't look overly complicated. He just wasn't really comfortable running around with a bunch of strangers without any clothes on. He wasn't going to judge anyone who decided to in the nude, but he might seem a little awkward around them. He was also feeling awkward about the whole hand-holding aspect... but he could deal... mostly.]
=====
Inn
[Keith was staying at the inn, of course. While he wasn't there just hanging around often, he could be found sometimes in the tavern area taking a break from things. He knew better than to eat the food on the menu, but he had a few things of his own, or that he'd picked up from the Elphame Traders. He also likely had food he'd gotten from the kindness of others after Mari Lwyd went and ate all his food because he was terrible at rap battles...]
=====
Elphame Traders
[To that end, he could be found talking to the traders in question about getting food from Camelot after falling victim to a rapping horse skull. Anyone want a split an order of stuff to try saving some cash?]
Don't Say Neigh - Fairy Blessings
He could be found in an relatively quiet area away from crowds, having set up a traditional campfire, and he was practicing with making the flames into new shapes. His familiar sat on his shoulder, tail wrapped gently around Keith's neck for balance, and watched, helping him focus on this new upgrade.]
hope you don't mind !!
She's just glad when the festivity itself seemed to be over and things calmed down. There's plenty of people lingering around and when her dog finds something familiar just away from the group she paused in telling him to come back glancing at what the young man is doing: ]
Seems like you've learned some new tricks as well.
Definitely not!
Yeah... You got a blessing, too?
[He shifted over so she had room to join him near the fire. It was kind of cold, after all.]
no subject
I think so, but it's not anything I've had practice with.
[ She's still new and hesitant with magic to begin with, she doesn't know the full scale of it. A slight incline of her head, matched with a short nod, as she took the offered space without preamble. ]
Magic still feels like something beyond the scope of my understanding.
no subject
[Keith put his hand out to Hayate in greeting. Kosmo wasn't far, but he was doing wolf things. Keith knew he'd stay out of trouble and teleport back if something happened.]

Green magic was easy to discover when the snow came in. [ The whole empathy to plants thing. ] Light magic took some more time.
[ A beat before inquiring. ] How about you, do you know both of yours?
no subject
I actually arrived in Avalon before we had secondary magic. It was weird waking up and suddenly being able to talk to animals.
[Yeah, he knew they had to be careful, but magic types were pretty generic in his mind. A lot of people had similar combos.]
So, if there's anything you want to know from your friend here, I can probably ask for you.
no subject
I couldn't imagine. Well, perhaps I could. [ She thinks minutely of feeling sleepy being close to a plant that had slumbered for the winter. It's a strange sensation, you never think of plants having their own thoughts until it's presented to you.
She glanced at Hayate who turned his head towards her. A happy thump of his tail and a wry smile. ]
While I'm sure being able to talk would make things easier sometimes, I think we manage to get along well now.
Some relationships don't need to be changed β what do you think?

Gravestone Faced
[Keith was a good swordfighter. That went without saying at this point. So, he could hold his own in the physical sense. Not that he would turn down assistance, but he was also willing to assist others who needed it.
But, Keith was also not good at regulating his emotions all the time. Sure, he'd improved over time, but he still had his moments, and this creature preyed on that sort of weakness. This was another reason why Keith would appreciate some help when it came down to it. He was vulnerable to this exact sort of thing.
Need Keith's help? No problem.
Willing to help Keith? Thanks!]
=====
Search
[The creature was caught. Now it was time to see if there was anyone they could potentially rescue. Keith couldn't restore the souls himself, but he could at least find people still able to be saved. It was a grim task, for sure, and finding too many beyond help in a row could be discouraging. But Keith wasn't the type to just give up, not when someone could potentially still be helped.
He wandered the edge of the forest and other areas, checking the bodies for signs they could be saved.]
Yelling Yetis
So, time for some semi-friendly combat to push them back from whence they came! Keith didn't mind non-lethal combat. It was a good release of pent up energy, and it helped him keep his skills sharp, all without the killing aspect, which was a nice change of pace, quite honestly...
He'd team up with people looking for help or who wanted to help him.]
Saw an open spot on the dance card!
She may not be a seasoned combatant, but she's resourceful and she has entirely too much hair. She's planning on putting that to good use, but she needs some help. That's where Keith comes in, and that's why in the middle of the preparations for the invasion Rapunzel singles him out (he happened to be the first person she saw when she arrived) and runs up, Pascal clinging to her shoulder and her hummingbird familiar flitting along after her. ]
Hey! Do you think you could lend me a hand? I have an idea.
Dance away! :D
Like, Keith had always thought Allura's hair was a lot. This was a whole new level.]
An idea?
[Okay, sure. He'd hear her out.]
What did you have in mind?
[He moved to meet up her.]
\o\ \o/ /o/!!!
You take one end, I'll have the other? If we time it right we can take their legs right out from under them! What do you think?
[ It should buy them all sometime, trip up the yetis coming right behind the first wave. That's her thought, anyway. ]
<o< <o> >o>
Did she just... her hair? She wants to... clothesline... charging yetis... with her hair.]
Uh... you really think that'll work? It's your hair.
<o^ ^o^ ^o>
[ Though there's not really time for a demonstration- ]
\o/ ^o^ (o /o\... it's fun to stay at the...
Okay.
[He can't exactly clotheslined yetis with hair before, either, but, if it could hold well enough like a rope, then it could, in theory, work.]
\o/ ^o^ (o /o\ ! (LMAO Brilliant!)
Thanks! ^_^;;
Frosty Forest Glamp
[Totems were one use and not cheap, and going between locations for various reasons this month was a lot. So, Keith was making use of this new igloo styled waystation to take a break on his trip. He came in, looking around at the various beds for a moment, noticing someone already inside the one he'd just walked into.]
Uh... any of these beds open?
=====
Ingredients!
[While Keith wasn't entering the bake-off himself, he was definitely willing to help anyone who was going to make the attempt find ingredients they needed.
He looked at the list again, and then at the other person.]
Okay, so this is definitely everything, right?
They Grow Up So Fast
[Okay... waking up with an egg in bed with him was weird enough, but it also had tiny legs and acted like a baby. It was a lot to take in at first even by itself. But, after waking up with one, which, just the act of picking it up to remove it from the bed was enough skin contact to initiate the bond, Keith realized it seemed to be looking for additional parents.
Between feeding it and keeping it happy, it was also getting into a bit of trouble and attempting to attract others to touch it bond. As he chased it about Camelot like it was an errant toddler, he found himself apologizing to people and actually judging potential co-parents, sometimes even trying to guide the egg away if it was someone he didn't know well enough.
Nothing personal... he just was suddenly feeling very protective of this little spacey egg baby...]
=====
Baaaaaby Bear Doo doo do do
[And then... it hatched. At first, it was fine. It was small. It was kind of cuddly and goofy, and it didn't do much because it was young. But it grew fast, and started doing more and more bear-like things, like rooting through trashcans in the street, climbing trees and buildings, and growling at people, and chasing them down.
Keith was exhausted. Caring for the egg baby had been rough enough, but it had at least been small and something that could be corralled with some well-placed objects. But, this? It could climb out and run away, especially as it got bigger.
Hey, co-parents, babysitters! He could use a hand!]
=====
Release Day
[It was time. A decision had been made, and the bears were just not meant to live in a city. So, with the rest of the Camelot parents, Keith, along with any co-parents his bear had bonded with as an egg, were en route to the release point. Someone had mentioned fire lions in the woods and that magic was needed to defeat them. Thankfully, as someone with both elemental and animal magic, Keith didn't feel too worried about it, but he certainly wouldn't turn down an assist. After all, they had a baby bear to protect until it ran off on its own.
Co-parents and other fighters definitely welcome.
Also, as word gets out that there was another group in Elphame doing the same thing, Keith would gladly travel between the two locations to help other parents release their babies into the wild.]
Egg Baby
[She shakes her head at the apology.]
Don't worry about it. You're not the only one dealing with a rambunctious egg around here.
[Might as well have been every otherworld arrival having encountered or presently dealing with one of their own.]
no subject
[Keith gave her a weak smile, clutching the squirming little ovoid in his hands as it tried to escape for more running.]
I have no idea where it came from. It was just... in my bed when I woke up.
no subject
[Meanwhile, turning to face him. If he looks, she may have a similar ovoid companion with her. Just... nestled on her chest somewhere that might be inappropriate to gaze upon too long.]
Yes, I had similar encounter. I was about to inquire around town to see if anyone knew where it came from; and pick up something else to carry it around with.
no subject
If I could get mine to sit still long enough, I'd probably want something to carry it in, too, but... I don't know if there's anything that can prevent it from running off.
no subject
... It will settle down once you find something it likes. However, that's part of challenge of raising them right now, isn't it?
[She's fortunate for her own methods still working.]
no subject
[Keith looked down at the little galaxy patterned egg in his hands.]
I have no idea where to start.
[He sighed.]
I'm better with animals. Like... ones that are already hatched...
