I. Ice Fishing

It was not her intention to come along and try catching the fish herself, but considering the apparent necessities that went into needing to catch these fish in particular, Naomi decided that perhaps once she would step out of her office and offer her services to anyone who intended on doing so. No, she didn't have elemental magic, but this was why learning some survival skills were imperative such as making a fire, and proper treatments for hypothermia.

Also, how to proceed to moving over ice if uncertain of its stability, but details.

For now, the fire had been made, started, and fueled; all that was left was the fishing.

"Are you ready?"

II. Gravestone-Faced

She hadn't expected this application of her magic, but it saved them time, truly. Knowing which bodies were alive and the others that had already been forced to move on allowed them to note where to come back to while in pursuit of their target. Also, a pleasant reminder of what would happen should they potentially fail. They could stop and rearrange those fallen to remind themselves which was which later, but Naomi was prepared to head on.

"What do you want to do?"

Because she's ready to move on and get this matter dealt with.

Now was the only chance to hesitate; but otherwise, it was time to press on.

III. Calls You Mommy

How or why, she didn't question it for too long because, honestly, the better question was 'where did it come from'. At this point, most things could likely be chalked up to magic, but something created the egg, gave it feet, and then insisted on it locating a surrogate. Or would it be foster in this case?

Either or, Naomi would be found at the shops with a black egg, the color broken by the soft, almost ethereal swirls of red, purple, and blue that could be seen shimmering upon it in the right lighting. It seemed to be a calmer egg, or maybe it helped that she was an adult that had experience with younger children and toddlers. She did get a swaddle carry for them arranged to make it easier, and was in the middle of questioning the natives to Avalon about the eggs in general.

After a while without much success, she could be found taking a break at a small café, a steaming cup of coffee for herself... and the egg rolling around in a mixing bowl filled with warm milk.

IV. Doctor Mom

"Come in..."

As usual, Dr. Kimishima was available should people need to visit. All that had really changed about her workspace was a small playpen being arranged in the corner, sometimes occupied by a black egg with swirls of purple, red, and blue shimmering throughout. And if it wasn't there, it was settled in her lap and content with not moving.

Either way, there was an egg. Try not to deviate from the reason for visiting... unless eggs were involved.

Naomi's eyes sharpen again at the toss. They're still on the level of acquaintances so he needs to be careful.

"Perhaps. Though, the magics I've been granted have me occupied."

[doctorintern]

He is definitely being extremely careful, alternating between the light tosses and seeing if the egg is ticklish. "Oh yeah, I imagine you must be extremely busy."

Most people might assume that a statement like that sound even a little sarcastic, but Fenton is completely genuine. Even without knowing what her specific magics are, knowing she was a doctor was already enough to guess that she generally already had a lot to do.

The egg does response well to tickles, kicking its legs and making a sound that could equate to a happy squeal. And as long as Naomi hears that, she settles down again.

"... Yes. I'm trying to find the most efficient uses of healing magic."

[doctorintern]

He chuckles a little himself, continuing to entertain the egg while conversing with Naomi.

"Most efficient?" He would have thought healing in itself was pretty efficient. "In what ways?"

"How to use the minimal amount of energy in magic while still getting the maximum effects from it."

So far, directness seems to be the best way, but that might be for her. Though, that's a side thought. With him entertaining the egg... he didn't directly touch it somehow, did he?

[doctorintern]

"Oh!" That does make sense, and a good thing to really look into. He wonders if Gandra had any similar research. "That definitely would be useful. How has that been going?"

He doesn't think he's touched the egg directly, but...well, he's wearing regular gloves, and his sleeves are rolled up.

"So far, knowledge does help. Concentrating healing to the main afflicted area means the magic spends less time trying to heal everything. Near or direct contact as well can see the magic enters the affected area first."

She hadn't fully worked with broken bones yet... also, oh dear. Why did he roll up his sleeves?

[doctorintern]

In his defense, his sleeves are always rolled up. He just...didn't think of rolling them down.

"That makes sense. So I imagine it would be more difficult with internal injuries, especially if someone doesn't immediately realized they're injured."

[chatwithdeath]

"Yes. I am training someone right now and there have been notable improvements."

Despite their conversation, the egg has become pretty jovial.

[doctorintern]

"That's great! Will you be open to teaching other people? I know of at least one healer who probably could benefit from that."

Providing he...told her about it first.

[chatwithdeath]

"... I suppose I could take on another student. Who is it you have in mind?"

Maybe Naomi knew them, maybe she didn't. Either way, Fenton, you should tell them.

[doctorintern]

"Her name is Gandra Dee! I know she's been taking come classes, but it couldn't hurt to have additional help."

[chatwithdeath]

"Hm... very well. If she wants to learn, send her to my office during my work hours."

[doctorintern]

"Great! I'll let her know as soon as possible. Thank you!"

...they could probably find her office online somewhere, right?

"You're welcome..."

If he looked up the hospital, yes, he should find her available hours. "... Well, any ideas about the egg?"

[doctorintern]

"Hmm?" The reminder has him looking back to the egg, which is still happily bouncing in his hands. "Oh! Uh, sorry...nothing I can really tell at first glance. But maybe I could find more information in the Archivist's library."

Not that he needs an excuse to visit the library, but this would be a good reason to look up information.

The egg had nothing better to do and right now was playtime. Always after food, it was time to play.

"The Archivist's... hm, yes, that may be possible." Not that she had been herself. She wasn't here long before the announcement that he'd passed. "Don't let me stop you if you think it may yield an answer."

[doctorintern]

"It couldn't hurt to take a look!" He is fortunate enough to have a totem to get there, at least...even if he had to make his own way back.

Carefully handing the egg back to her, he then remove his gloves and puts them back in his back. "Just one more thing, if you wouldn't mind?" he asks, retrieving and holding up his phone. He certainly had taken a good deal of notes, but having a visual reference would help as well.

Taking back the egg, it resumed its bouncing once settled in her palm... even seeming to move faster. She doesn't know why it wants to do that, but she'll let it tire itself out. Looking up to see his phone, she nods.

"As long as it's just the egg." And good luck because the camera makes it wanna move even faster.

[doctorintern]

He returns the nod. "Got it." And he does attempt to take a picture of the egg, but with it moving as much as it is, he ends up just taking a short video of it instead. At least that way he can try to get still images of it later, and pockets the device once more.

"There we go. I'll try to look up what might be available in the library, and let you know what I find."

[chatwithdeath]

She'll just be happy that it crashes later. Even now, it seems to slow down once his video is done recording... but it hasn't stopped.

"I would appreciate that, thank you."

Meanwhile, she thinks she'll head back, and put it in its playpen to avoid any accidents.

[doctorintern]

"Of course!" Gathering his things, he stuffs them all back into his duffel bag and prepares to head out. "I'll get in touch when I can. Good luck!"

Because from what he knows about children and babies...she'll need it.
