I. Ice Fishing

Lord though he may be, that didn't mean he was going to sit inside all day. And when the quests for the new month become posted, of course Zidane was going to look into a few - especially the ones that might be able to help out some folks, and 10,000 G potentially for a fish sounded good.

Even if it meant taken a cold dive to get them.

Once they arrive at their fishing spot in the gorge, Zidane sets to getting a fire going and setting down supplies. They could stay there all day.

"I have a totem back to Celliwig or Camelot if anything comes up."

II. Yelling Yetis

Given the destruction at the end of the year previous, he's not surprised there continued to be issues like this coming up. But damn, yetis causing issues now?

"... Y'know, I get it. What're the Snow Games? Name alone sounds like it would've been awesome!"

Though, his new enthusiasm for the competition wasn't helping despite a few nods from the yetis themselves in agreement. But hey, a lack of games and the need to get them to go back somehow does give him an idea.

"Why not just have a brief one here? We can figure out some kind of prize, right?"

He looked over at his quest partner with a grin.

III. Wizards Gone Wild!

It's one of those temporary booths set up in New Camelot, around where the marketplace might begin becoming a little more risqué for some folks. He probably could sell out at the clubs, but he'll hit them up later - after he considers going door-to-door.

For now, the table with a sign announcing 'Charity Calendars' doesn't sound that bad, right?

IV. They Grow Up So Fast

[Option A: Calls You Daddy]
It's blue and orange, the glittering egg easily looking like someone painted a sunset on the shell. And upon seeing it in the morning, there are... a lot of thoughts going through Zidane's mind: plenty of shock, plenty of confusion and trying to understand how that worked, and plenty of internal yelling.

B-But they hadn't even... huh?

...

But that's how plenty might cross him later around New Camelot still handling some shopping matters, holding a sunset-shaded egg either against his chest or letting it wander around close with his tail latched to it. It was enough being Lord, but now he was Dad? Maybe make sure he's okay; something about Zidane's general appearance (maybe how he was staring pretty much straight ahead) said he might be in shock.

[Option B: Go on, Git]
If Zidane could, he'd keep their little bear for much longer. However, it's very apparent that living around people permanently wouldn't be possible. Ah, kids... they grow up so fast.

Good news: with Atys located near Elphame and its forests, releasing their cub would be no issue.

Bad news: goblins. Why was he not surprised? Oh, and they brought along a friend.

Cool, cool... he could invite a friend to come join them, too. Giving a reassuring pat to his bear clinging onto his back, he drew his daggers next. It's not like they had to bring the goblins back alive, right?

[Izuku is standing here looking a little perplexed. The gathered yetis are just standing there expectantly and he's half a mind to take a step backwards. They're big and dangerous! And need to be ushered somewhere safe!

At least Zidane seems to have something on his mind to do that properly? He'd rather not fight the yetis. But they can't stay here!]

What- What do you have in mind, Zidane-san?

[Awe, Izuku, c'mooon... they're not that bad.]

[Though, a hand on his chin, Zidane looks at the nearest (and maybe the biggest) yeti.]

What kinda prize would you guys be interested in? I know I have some labradorite from the Lotus Pod Mountains; I could make like a medallion or something out of that for the winner. I think it'd look pretty good as a snowflake or something similar in theme.

[But he's not sure if the yetis would like that. Still, seems like they might be interested and discussion among themselves. Meanwhile, he looks back at Izuku.]

Only other thing I can think about is some trade goods from Elphame. If I had anymore of those fishes from the gorge...

[Not that bad but they could totally crush them with a few stomps!! Izuku looks to them and to Zidane as he explains and also puts his hand to his chin.]

Trade goods from Elphame... What about some medical supplies and any spare food that can be spared for them?

[It seems like a good and practical prize.]

Then we'll need to figure out what sort of temporary snow game we can help them participate in. Maybe... some sort of snowball throwing game?

[Snow balls are easy??]

[Izuku... what kind of contests have you been participating in before? But food does seem to interest a few yetis so there's that.]

So a few targets? Or, what about a tournament-style team snowball fight? We could also have a sculpting competition for the ones who don't wanna participate in that.

Fishy

[Jean's not sure why he decided to agree to ice fishing, now they he thinks about it, but at the same time the monetary value of the fish did sound good. It was always useful to have some savings.

Besides, he had to make sure his potential new boss doesn't die a freezing cold death.]

I wonder if I should turn into something that can swim in the cold... or if that would just make catching the fish more difficult.

[Awe, he knew you'd come around Jean. Also, yeah, a few fish and they could be set for a while - he wondered what was so special about them anyway.]

Hm... there's no arm in giving it a try, right? You might spook the fish for a moment, but we can wait for them to come back.

I get a feeling we might spook them however we do it a few times, so yeah might as well test it.

[At least an otter can swim pretty well in the cold. That's what he does, turns into an otter and looks up at Zidane.]

Haha, that's true. I don't know how they'd expect a lot of us to catch up to fish.

[Hell, he had Kinetic Magic to speed him up... or stop the fish literally from escaping. Looking at otter-Jean, he nods.]

If there's a fight to be had, Asterios knows he can help... so long as there's someone else to stop him before he goes insane with bloodlust. With his split labrys in hand (and baby bear clinging to his white fur), he merely nods at Zidane before they start their trek forward.

"I can at least keep the small guys off you..."

Really, goblins are no problem. He's mainly concerned about the bony demon friend they have among them that seems all too eager to come at them, but seemed to be waiting for the first person to strike. Also, he'd rather not Asterios handle the fight on his own.

"Hmph." Asterios is used to handling fights on his own, and rather prefers them, with the exception of his Master - since she can stop him with a Command Spell. But with this world taking that ability away, well...

"I will... strike first. Get their focus on me."

Zidane is definitely looking quite out of place with that bright, glittery egg of his. Nanaki stares at it for a moment, an ear flicking.

"...What is that?"

Blinking, Zidane notices that Nanaki is there in a moment.

"... Uh, an egg? Or... a baby? It acts like a baby..."

But he's still very... confused.

"An egg."

He can see that, but... huh. Nanaki is also confused.

"Eggs do not normally behave that way."

[In all honesty, Ochako was ready to fight some yetis, but...a more peaceful (and if she had a say, fun as hell sounding) option is probably for the better. Ochako actually feels a bit silly for not even thinking like that from the get-go. These yetis may be causing a ruckus, but they're not villains, they're just upset! Any good Hero should try to resolve things peacefully before going on the offensive, and she'll take that lesson to heart going forward.

So, after Zidane pipes up, she seems to perk up and clap her hands together excitedly.]

That sounds like a great idea!! It may not be totally the same, but we can hold a mini version of it!! So that way, you can at least get a portion of the festivities you're used to! And even a prize to take how and show off!! YEAAAH, BANZAI!

Awesome! Alright~ What kind of events do the Snow Games usually have? We could probably get those set up fast between the two of us!

[Well, four if they ask their familiars. With their Kinetic Magic, Uraraka's Elemental Magic, and his Bargaining, they should be able to get it going in no time. Though, does he really have to Bargain when he's offering a supplement like this?]

And hey, if it happens again next year, I'll try to host you guys instead. I'll even see about talking to King Arthur about it. Just between that dragon and part of the mountain collapsing, and people losing their homes... So, how about it?

[He holds out a hand to the yeti.]

[The yetis definitely look to be considering the offer, and after a bit of discussing amongst themselves (and ignoring that I rolled a 2 and a 4 for persuasion WITH advantage...), it seems they finally agree to the duo's attempts to recreate the Games in their own way. But the yetis do warn--...or, erm...th-threaten, actually, that if the Games aren't perfect, they'll go back to pummelling Camelot proper, starting with them.

Ochako laughs nervously, already rolling up her sleeves and looking like she's ready to start working.]

N-No need for that!! We can promise these are going to be he most memorable games you've ever experienced!

[It's been... a tough few days for Tifa. The month didn't kick off to a fantastic start, and it's been four days since she's had a proper sleep or even rest, but she isn't about to stop now. Even as exhaustion threatens to take her as she wanders up to Zidane's place, her body fighting back against her as she lifts a hand to knock on the door, she bites back the need to yawn as she gives it a tap.

This was a two birds with one stone sort of visit. They'd briefly talked about Zidane keeping her company while she visited the castles that Camelot had to offer, and it's not like she had the Knight or Noble title to give her the same leeway that Eustace had, and... she'd been meaning to pay him a visit to see his new place since she'd heard about it, not knowing what to expect when she got there.

Not to mention, she could use his uplifting company right now, even if she'd never admit it on her own.

Hopefully he answers the door quickly though, or else this food she's brought is going to get cold!]

[It's a place to come visit alright. Thing was, Zidane's not technically located in Camelot anymore, but he mostly stays back while some construction work is on-going. Slow progress, but on-going, and he makes sure to go and help out when he can. For now, it's still life at the Inn with the occasional bout around the castle at his assigned township so at least there's that.]

[Blinking at the knock, well, he's not going to waste time opening the door.]

Hey, Tifa!

[Oh boy, she looks tired. Something's up, but they'll get to that soon enough.]

[She lifts the bag of food, and through it, he'll see several containers of it stacked on top of one another, and she wears a crooked smile.]

I made a little too much, so I figured you and Dagger could use some to keep you warm.

[A little too much would be an understatement, if he looks inside of it. There is way too much food for three people, let alone two or even one, but her mind has been a little scattered lately, and so she's been cooking to help ease it.

Tifa will step gently over the threshold, and hold the bag out for him to take, as she shakes some of the snow from her hair.]

[Was it good fortune or bad that the friend coming to Zidane's aid against these goblins was none other than Bennett? Well, the answer to that is pretty subjective.

But what's clear is a fireball suddenly launching at some of the goblins, exploding on impact and drawing their ire.]

You need to get that little cub out of here, right? Don't worry, I'll keep all their attentions on me so you can safely go!

[It was an idea that should probably sound insane to any reasonable person.]

[Hey, Zidane's just glad to have any back-up at all. And they can always turn things around if they go bad; he doesn't mind.]

[His eyes move to the side when Bennett arrives, but then shift back to the goblins reorganizing themselves. Fireball hot!]

Oh yeah because I'm totally going to leave you to them alone. Nah, we can take 'em out before I settle junior in.

[Even if he leaves Bennett behind, no guarantee that a goblin or two wouldn't attempt to follow.]

"A charity calendar...?" Noelle definitely hadn't been taking a nervous step or two into the more risqué part of town, honestly. Never. No gay thoughts about a certain friend of her's at all.

But thankfully, an innocent looking stall had pulled her attention away for the moment. This seemed safer!

And so, the deer girl headed over to investigate.

Zidane continued peddling the calendar to a few locals who look curious themselves.

"Oh yeah, don't worry. It has something to interest everyone," he says, not minding that they were looking. "Have a peek at May. And you? How about March for more variety?"

Grinning at the clamor caused by the two when they do have a look, Zidane looks over at the newcomer when they approach. "Hey, welcome! Interested in a new calendar for the year? All proceeds go to help the refugees."

"Gosh, I guess even this world has refugees and charities like this..." Despite how ideal a magical world presented itself, she supposed that even an RPG world of sorts had more down to earth problems. "It's a shame the magic here isn't strong enough to just help everyone by itself, isn't it? May I have a look at the calendar please?"
