❄️Welcome to Tsumugi’s surprise birthday party!❄️

Kazunari has pulled out all the stops to deck out Kaika theater for the party. Using his new pumped up light magic, and in homage to Tsumugi’s first role with Mankai, Kazunari has thrown illusions of clouds all around the main stage and audience seating. They coat the floor and stage as if you’re actually walking on them and they also float dreamily through the air. On the ceiling, stars twinkle brightly. And in addition to all that, on stage, the heaven set of Sympathy for an Angel has been faithfully recreated.

And if there’s mistletoe snagged from the end of Louis’ holiday party hanging very obviously in one of the archways? Don’t worry about it.


❄️Refreshments❄️

While there is the traditional birthday cake, there is also an array of egg tarts to snack on. Everything is decorated with stars and feathers accordingly. There is an assortment of drinks but adults can ask Kazunari for the spicy stuff.


❄️Games? Charades!❄️

This wouldn’t be a party for Tsumugi “theater junkie” Tsukioka if there wasn’t some form of acting game.

There is a great, big stack of notecards filled with people, plays, actions and all sorts of prompts ready to be acted out as you see fit - for everyone else’s amusement! Maybe grab a partner and try to make a skit out of two completely random prompts!

❄️Letters to Michael❄️

A major theme of Sympathy for an Angel is letter writing, so Kazunari wanted to incorporate it somehow.

Letters to Michael will work kind of like a guestbook. Write a letter to Tsumugi or even just write out your thoughts or your current worries - just how you’re feeling at the moment. Write your letter, seal it in an envelope and drop it in the provided box! This is just for fun and completely optional.


❄️Host Kazunari❄️

As the host of this party, Kazunari will be flitting around making sure everyone is well-fed and having fun. But seriously, go bug Tsumugi not Kazunari: it’s his day after all!!

Heey, no problem. Were you surprised? You were totally surprised...

[Even if he wasn't, Zidane still chuckles. It'd been too long since he'd come to celebrate someone's birthday - and that previous one, he hosted. So, it's nice being a guest and worrying about bringing a present.]

[tsumtsuki]

I really was! I had no idea Kazu-kun was planning all of this... [ How Kazunari managed to keep this a secret for however long when they're roommates is a mystery to him. Really, he's going to have to repay him somehow.

But that's a thought for later. For now, he's focusing on Zidane. ] This is a bigger party than I'm used to, but it's fun.

[tantailizing]

Good. It'd ruin the surprise if it was given away. [Though, Kazunari probably knew enough about Tsumugi that he wouldn't have to spoil it trying to figure out what the birthday boy would want over the network... Colette still had a good time.]

Hey, great to hear. Though, do you prefer smaller parties?

[tsumtsuki]

[ He shakes his head a little. ] I don't mind big parties, really... I just haven't had something like this in a while. [ Since university, maybe? ]

Last year, the Director and I visited my grandmother, and bought some snacks on the way back for everyone to share. So this is quite different.

[tantailizing]

Okay, good. If you were feeling uncomfortable, I was about to recommend ways on getting out.

[Look, not everyone likes big parties and he totally gets it.]

Oh, that sounds nice. And hey, nothing wrong with a little change up.

[tsumtsuki]

[ Honestly, even if he were uncomfortable, it'd probably take some convincing to get him to leave. It'd feel wrong to duck out when the party was put together for his sake!

So thankfully, he's able to take this in stride. ] Honestly, I'm excited to see what's in store for me next year. [ hehe. ] What do you usually do for your birthday, Zidane-kun?

[tantailizing]

No matter what happens, it'll be great!

[Zidane doesn't actually know that... but hey, confidence! Even if the following question makes him blink.] Huh? Uh... nothing really.

[tsumtsuki]

[ ... Huh! Tsumugi doesn't really think anything's wrong with his response - it's just not quite what he expected. But maybe Zidane's just from a place that doesn't make a big deal out of birthdays? ] I see...

[ He pauses for a moment, then: ] I don't think I could throw a party like this on my own, but I'd be happy to do something with you next year? I mean, if you wanted.

[ oh tsumugi, ]

[tantailizing]

[Oh no, they can make a very big deal about birthdays. Depends on who you are of course.]

[Zidane shakes his head.] It's nothing like that. I couldn't tell you when my birthday is, but the Boss would just throw something together for the day he found me.

[tsumtsuki]

- Eh? [ That isn't something he expected to hear. Though he supposes there's a lot that he doesn't know about Zidane - his surprise is a testament to that.

He doesn't want to pry, really, but, ] What do you mean by that?

[tantailizing]

[Behind him, Zidane's tail twitches. He also places his hands on his waist as he considers.]

Well, for a birthday, someone would have to 'birth' you, right? I wasn't really.

[tsumtsuki]

[ Oh.

Tsumugi blinks, needing a moment to process this new information, before offering an apologetic smile. ] I see... Thank you for telling me. [ He doesn't know how sensitive of a topic this is, obviously, but he doesn't miss that shift in his body language. ]

For what it's worth, even if you might not have a birthday, I would still be happy to celebrate with you.

[tantailizing]

[Yeaaah, he's still getting used to talking about it without being grandiose. At least there are steps.]
