[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!



What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

[Though there are a multitude of buffet options friends and guests alike can enjoy with varying foods and delicious, hot soups (one being Kansai-style ozoni, which Ochako had very strict specifications for) - fried chicken as the Japanese Christmas tradition, a whole roast and trimmed turkey and ham, lots of sides, tons of fish, and an array of roasted veggies and fruits - each table will be adorned with a hotpot for people to enjoy that option as well!!

This is a more vegetarian option, as the meats are added to the broth after, and most of the veggies and tofu are cooked beforehand in a khombu broth!! Enjoy the rich taste of shabu shabu for the holidays!

Meat eaters will be asked to hold off dipping their meats into the broth until those not partial to it have had their serving first. Please be considerate to their needs. ♥]

[Gokudera’s request for vegetarian options on his girlfriend’s behalf was acknowledged and he’s tickled about it. Honestly, he’s even going to police some of that broth so Aurora’s dietary restrictions can be respected. He won’t be as grumpy as usual because… he has alcohol. Don’t ask how he got it, or get upset. He does not care about staying sober when he’s celebrating and after all of the grown-up shit he’d been through. He’s drinking, pink-cheeked and looking more comfortable in a black loose turtleneck under a grey and white checkered sweater. He has his usual black jeans and excess of belts on, chain clipped to a belt loop and hopefully connected to a wallet in his pocket.

Talk to him, thank him for a gift? Give him one directly? Enjoy some food with him.

If you are holding a glass, he will attempt to click his against yours. It does not matter who you are. Even Beowulf would get some holiday well-wishes, despite Gokudera hating his guts.

[There certainly are some good options for vegetarians to enjoy here, yes. Aside from the tofu used to put into the broth for shabu shabu, there's also other options that include it as well! Stir-fried vegetables with honey-ginger tofu, vegetable tempura and fluffy, steamed rice...and miso soup. Not to mention plenty of noodle dishes made both from flour as well and zucchini noodles. And, of course, some lush salads, too. Ochako's love of food really translated well to the chef's she hired, and a few of the food prepped she helped in the kitchen to make.

Though, seeing some distinctly flushed cheeks around from those that snuck in booze, Ochako sort of sighs to herself and shakes her head. She won't berate them for it, it was bound to happen considering those she invited, but she does still head over with a sly smile and a giggle.]

Make sure you also drink some water, too, Gokudera-kun. Or at least pair that with some food. [Otherwise your Holiday Hangover will be your gift come the new year.]

Giggling, because how can she not when he's so weirdly loose and happy, Ochako just shakes her head when he seems to be implying she partake in some more "merriment" than she'd like.]

Not that kind, but I might get some juice in a little bit. But I'm glad yo look like your having fun, ehehe, let me know when your friends show up, too, if I'm not around by then, I'd love to meet them!

He has a lot to be happy about, to be fair. Gokudera had simply been inviting her company, not trying to push any alcohol on her.]

What kind of juice?

[Maybe he wants to mix them all up into one drink, make a punch or something. Gokudera is a bit bothered he didn’t think that up earlier. A punch would have been fun to bring, and if it were a little boozy, he’d just make sure no kids had any! Instead, a fruit cocktail could be a good substitute. He likes mixing his drinks. It’s always fun and interesting.]

What are you going to do until then? Need any help?

[Is there anything that needs put up? He would like to stay behind and help with clean up, even if there is no expectation to. Then again, Gokudera has no idea how much he’s going to be drinking.]

[Izuku will be there for the party wearing his own ugly Christmas sweater that he received as a gift. A certain someone probably thought he wouldn't wear it but he's here wearing the heck out of it.]

[But he doesn't seem to have a drink with him. He's tried alcohol once but he wasn't that into it. Especially after the small guilt of being underage at the back of his head the entire time.]

You made it! ... I have a gift for you! Here, please take it...!

[He holds out a box! Izuku might have gotten his gift from Gokudera already but with no note, he's not sure yet it was from Gokudera! But Izuku has had a gift for Gokudera this entire time.]

Greenie! You look like an entire tree!

[And Gokudera does something probably only one other person has heard. He laughs, points, and holds his side.]

You’re missing a star! Hold on!

[The bomber sets his glass down and gets up suddenly, patting at his jeans and digging about for a moment before producing a few bobby-pins and hair clips. There is one with a little yellow star, and he’s moving over to put it on Midoriya’s hair. A second thought has him pausing and offering, not wanting to invade the other boy’s personal space too much.

But a gift?! For him?!

Gokudera stiffens up as if in alarm and puts a hand to his chest as he eyes the box.]

You didn’t need to! You can’t be serious…

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku makes a noise and reaches up to touch his hair.]

I do? Haha... I guess I am! It was a gift from Kacchan so I couldn't refuse wearing this tonight.

[He absolutely looks like a Christmas tree no one can even deny it! He'll glance up as if he would have let Gokudera dress up his hair with star clips and nods?]

D-don't worry about it, though! I wanted to get you a gift! I hope you like it!

[Aurora is from the 1400s where drinking ages were not a thing. She has a glass of sparkling pink wine in her hand when her beloved comes over to her. Aurora is dressed in a gown with layers in soft blues and whites for the winter Yule. She looks up when Gokudera comes over to her and clinks her glass.

She brings him in close and presses a kiss on his cheek.]

Thank you for inviting me, darling.

[Gokudera is delighted when she comes up to him and his expression turns into a dopey smile at the kiss. He puts his hand to the cheek, as if he could press the feeling into his skin permanently.]

Of course, Rose. I asked Ochako if she wouldn't mind providing vegetarian options, and honestly-

[He takes her free hand and holds it gently.]

She went above and beyond. You know, she took my collar off? I'd like you to meet her.

Then, she has double my thanks, not only for giving me something to enjoy at this veritable feast but for freeing you as well. [She gives his hand a gentle squeeze as she sips her wine.]

So I would deeply love to meet her so I can do just that. I would like to meet her as well.

Shinsou Peoplewatching & Hotpot [Prompt #2]

[ While the underaged drinking shenanigans are taking place at a nearby table, Shinsou is watching with some amusement. He doesn't look dressed for the holiday at all, but at least he's here and not embarrassing himself the way that that guy is.

He picks up a plate from the buffet and finds an empty table to sit at. Feel free to join him. He can explain the Hotpot situation if folks need it; think Fondue. Since he started at an empty table, he's not waiting around for any Vegetarian requirements first.

While he has a view of the rest of the room, he's also spotted the Mochitsuki stations. He tilts his head with interest as some folks are looking like they might give it a shot. It's a very wild thing to watch at any rate, in his opinion, as this very traditional Japanese thing (video) happens in the middle of a very Western castle. ]

[It's finally time to dig in!! Sitting amongst friends at her own table, the so-called "Lady of the House" finally gets to serve herself some of that delicious hot pot. Mostly, Ochako's been bustling around as well, talking to people, giving gifts, and just managing everything to make sure people were enjoying themselves. It's...a lot of work!! But also a ton of fun, and her cheeks actually kind of hurt from all the smiling she's been doing.

Finally, she can sit and rest, and energize herself with delicious food. She sits right next to Deku and places down her mug of tea to reach for the cover of the hot pot. All the veggies and tofu should be done bubbling away by now.]

Deku-kun, you can go first if you want. Do you need any more sauce? I have some daikon on this side, too, if you don't have any.

Ah, thank you, Uraraka-san! Just a little more sauce...

[Hot pot! It has been so long since Izuku has gotten to have something like this that there is practical stars in his eyes right now. A small chance of drool at the corner of his mouth...]

This all looks incredible! ...Wah- I don't know where I should start...! Thank you for the meal!

[He claps his hands together! But really he's just so happy they got all this together. And how happy Ochako looks from the entire thing. Seeing her smile is more rewarding than anything tonight.]

[Ochako sets the ponzu down beside him (not forgetting it like he did at the Christmas party back home |Da), giggling at the look in her friend's eye. Honestly, she was much the same when thinking about it, and even the smell of all those delicious veggies - nappa cabbage, some carrots cut into cute flower shapes, the whites of a green onion, and various types of mushrooms like enoki and shiitake, of course - and tofu are making her mouth water in earnest. She hasn't has shabu shabu in so, so long... Years, probably!! She just could never afford it, really...

BUt, now that she has some saving for herself stored away, well before she even became a noble, she can have these sorts of delicious meals now, and even go so far as to share with friends. The idea makes her chest warm.]

Well, Deku...maybe start with the meat, ehehe. [since he needs to cook it in the broth a few seconds to get it nice and browned.] I think I might have some of that tofu myself... I-I've been eying it and the shiitake since they went in the pot, ah...heh.

Oh, there's also some udon for the leftover broth, after...or if you wanna use it up now? [Seriously, there are a BUNCH of options.] I wanted to make sure that one of the people here who doesn't eat meat has enough variety to enjoy themselves, you know? But, ehehe...I may have overdone it.

[It's amazing to think that her becoming a noble has granted her the ability to get all of this. She deserves it, of course, just the idea that she and Katsuki both have earned these kinds of titles with lands and wealth is... well it seems like it's right out of a fantasy book. Right here in this fantasy world. With Izuku as a knight, it seems like they've really started to settle- in a sense. As much as they can, anyway.

The food looks so delicious and he intends to enjoy it as much as he can. A night off for all of them. And the aroma of cooking broth makes his mouth water some more as do his eyes sparkle at the sight of all the fresh veggies, meats and all the extras to go with it.

He holds his chopsticks over a plate and hesitates for a moment.]

Ah- someone is vegetarian? [He nods as he picks up some meat and starts it in the broth alongside a helping of greens and mushroom. He wants some egg too...] I think you did an amazing job, Uraraka-san. This spread is incredible I feel like I could sit here and eat for days. You did great with the entire party. I'm glad you decided to do all of this.

[As the main suspect to whom brought the alcoholic drinks Venti may or may not have dodged Ochako every now and then to make sure she doesn't take away his wine again. The girl is a clever menace and he does not want to lose it to her a second time...!

But he can't help sneaking closer when he sees the spread of food. While not the biggest meat eater there is he does pick at it from time to time. It's the vegetarian option that catches his eye as well as the brothy soup and what is that... tofu? Fish?]

Ehehe... What should I start with? It all looks so wonderfully delicious!

[It's only because other people are partaking in the alcoholic beverages that Ochako doesn't confiscate all of them and shove them back into the kitchens and away from people. She may be a bit of a goody-two-shoes, but she's not a spoilsport. So long as no one really makes an ass of themselves in a destructive manner, or causes trouble, then she can allow it, though she will not partake at all and you can't pressure her into it, bard >:|. Really, she may be among the best people here to help with upset stomachs and, uhh... Tossing one's cookies, so to speak.

But as she spots that familiar green cape, Ochako slides over and casually bumps shoulders with her friend and music teacher. There is a damn decent spread - potatoes, fish, plenty of steamed rice, roasted and pickled veggies, tofu...so much!! There's also noodles as well, served both hot and cold and with or without broth. Anything not eaten will be packed up and donated to charities helping the people of Lestari and Celliwig, too, so nothing will go to waste. Ochako sort of planned ahead for that.

Oh, and course...no Uraraka feast is complete with a dessert table, too. That's that she's currently loading her plate with. Mini cakes and some fruit tarts. Maybe a cookie or...four.....]

Ehehe, depends on what you're looking for!! But I will say the veggie skewers are really tasty. [Grilled shiitake, thick onion, and eggplant? Yum!]

[Truth be told he can't help the way his shoulders go up when she appears! Clever and quick as always! And Venti would be one to hold his bottle of wine to his chest like she is going to take it! Don't take it! Don't!

But she focuses on the food and Venti lets out a small tuneful laugh and tilts his head.]

Veggie skewers it is! This is quite the amount of food for a festival! Did you make all of this food yourself, Miss Ochako Chan?

[He calls it a festival because he doesn't really know what Christmas even is?]

[She should take it, no one here ought to be drinking any alcohol since they're mostly minors, but Ochako isn't here to police anyone. If they can all behave themselves and not go overboard, then she'll allow the...Enhanced Merriment™ to happen on her grounds, and in her home. But the first sign of trouble...and that's the end of the line.]

Eh? Oh, jeez, of course not!! If I even tried to cook everything tonight, I think my arms would fall right off before everyone showed up! Ehehe, no, I hired some chefs and caterers to prepare most of the food here, but I did help in the kitchen a bit. And I provided the recipe for a few of the dishes here, too.

[The ozoni especially, since it's a regional specialty, and some of the miso soups were made by Ochako herself, but mostly everything else was done by some real professionals.]

[The food here is absolutely delicious, and it seems as though no expense was spared for this bounteous feast. Fumikage can be found here on occasion, helping himself to a few foods and warm drinks. He may be lingering closer to some of the apple-flavoured foods and desserts, because even after his apple-themed disaster recently, he still likes the tasty fruit.]

[There's another here by the foods as well. For those who might be trying to help themselves to some food, they might notice a dark, shadowy hand reaching over and snatching their desired food away just before they do. The culprit is Dark Shadow, who looks completely unapologetic as he munches on the pilfered food.]

Everything's so tasty here!

[No expense indeed, considering that Ochako mostly used her own stock of savings to pay for most of it, keeping the lump sum of funds she got when becoming a noble still on the side. From how many quests she does, and how little she spends on herself (and that she is an amazing bargain hunter and knows how to budget like crazy), it just made sense. Truly, her best skill as a Lady will be managing the finances, definitely.

Besides, anything not eaten or taken home by the guests is going to be stored as leftovers for herself and the staff that live with her on the castle grounds, or donated to food pantries to help the citizens of Lestari and Celliwig that are still struggling to make ends meat. No one is going to be hungry around the holidays if Ochako can help it.]

Ah!! [Excuse you, sir, that was the pudding cup she was reaching for!! Ochako finished eating, and was going to get herself some dessert at last, frowning until she sees Dark Shadow. She's...still frowning, but it's more a pout than anything.] Ne, Dark Shadow!! It's not polite to grab like that! I'm glad you like the food, but you need to wait your turn.

[Dark Shadow, meanwhile, takes all the delight in tipping the pudding cup up and letting the delicious dessert drop down his gullet. He doesn’t do it in a mean-spirited way, but more so in an innocent, childish manner. When Ochako speaks up, he blinks in surprise.]

But there’s so much! And it’s tasty!

[Oh my gosh, did Tokoyami teach no no manners, you adorable little shadow demon? Ochako pouts, trying to still look 'upset' but she just can't bring herself to stay that way for too long, because Dark Shadow is just...too cute. He's too cute, and it does seem like an honest mistake.]

I know, I know...I tried to make sure there was enough for everyone to have lots of servings, but that still doesn't mean you can take something someone else was eyeing you know!. [She reaches out to give him a small pat on his big snoot.] You don't wanna make anyone mad, or get in trouble, right?
