Holiday Bash!!

[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!

What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

[Gokudera is delighted when she comes up to him and his expression turns into a dopey smile at the kiss. He puts his hand to the cheek, as if he could press the feeling into his skin permanently.]

Of course, Rose. I asked Ochako if she wouldn't mind providing vegetarian options, and honestly-

[He takes her free hand and holds it gently.]

She went above and beyond. You know, she took my collar off? I'd like you to meet her.

Then, she has double my thanks, not only for giving me something to enjoy at this veritable feast but for freeing you as well. [She gives his hand a gentle squeeze as she sips her wine.]

So I would deeply love to meet her so I can do just that. I would like to meet her as well.

[He can't stop smiling, whether it's the company, the drink, the atmosphere, Gokudera is very content in this moment. It's not a typical mood for him, unfortunately, but he feels safe, eager to meet more people, or to simply admire his girlfriend from afar as she settles into the festivities. Or...]

She'll probably be very modest about it! It's her job, back home, to help people. Her and Midoriya both. He's the one walking around here looking like a tree! I haven't met everyone here...

[And usually, he'd be hovering around her, or his boss, or Zuko, or anyone else he cares about. But he also trusts Ochako's judgement. Gokudera needn't be so paranoid.]

I could introduce you to her if you'd like.

[He looks around for the host, waving when he sees her and hoping she'll come see them.]

Oh! I know Izuku well! He is a friend! [She smiles.] But it is wonderful to see she is a knight. [Well... no, not quite, but it's what Aurora has a frame of reference for people whose jobs it is to help others.]

I would like that. [She linked their fingers together.] Besides, I should meet the hostess, it would be terribly rude of me not to.

He is! They're from the same world. Ah, I'm not sure if she's a knight, but I didn't think to ask...

[Usually he wouldn't be so open with his ignorance, but... this is Aurora. He feels he can be more himself around her than most.]

Far from it. It's already rude of me for not having introduced you when we got here.

Then we can ask together.

Well, I am glad for it, all the same. I'm still not used to meeting strangers on my own. [16 years without OTHER PEOPLE takes A WHILE to get over when you're already a natural introvert.]

[Ochako actually isn't too difficult to find, thankfully. In fact, she seems to be bustling around just as much as a few of the people picking up stray glasses and plates to take back to the kitchens to be cleaned. Sadly, unlike Aurora, she's not really dressed to impress that much...this little party is a bit more on the casual side than anything else. However, the bright and happy smile adorning her face that hasn't left since people started showing up more than enough makes up for it.

She seems to have finally been freed from whatever conversation she was having with someone else as they meander away, and she's picking up a glass of some sparkling juice (sorry, but she's very strict about not drinking anything alcoholic for herself until she's of age) and taking a big sip with a pleased sigh. Woof, entertaining like this is a workout in itself.]

Ochako!

[Gokudera waves her over and then approaches her to walk with her back to Aurora.]

I want to introduce you to my girlfriend.

[And as soon as he’s right back to Aurora, he steps aside.]

Rose, this is Ochako, our hostess. Ochako, this is Aurora.

[He won’t be giving any more details, not certain how comfortable anyone is with titles or formalities, since this party does seem casual, but also fairly intimidate. It’s surprising how it isn’t very chaotic or loud considering how many teenagers are in this space. Gokudera trusts it has something to do with Ochako literally being in charge, and that she’s a stickler for rules.]

[Aurora was usually one for inclining her head in greeting, but, Ochako had done so much for Gokudera and Aurora was just so happy to meet the person who helped him get that damned collar off. She immediately embraced Ochako and placed a kiss on her cheeks.]

It is such a pleasure to meet you!

[O-Oh, there is so much happening right now. In a flurry of movement, Ochako is whisked away by Gokudera to meet his, ah...w-wait. Girlfriend?! She balks a little, spluttering slightly because, um...when did this happen?! Recently, she assumes, because she was never privy to Gokudera having a girlfriend. Good for him tho--

...Oh my god, she's gorgeous. Hot damn. Ya boy struck gold.

Ochako's cheeks turn even pinker as she clears her throat, bowing forward slightly to greet her rather lovely guest and significant other of her dear friend here.]

Ah, i-it's nice to meet you, um...Aurora-san? [Or did she hear Rose? Well, either way, those thoughts are caught in her throat when she's pulled forward into an embrace and kissed on the cheek. OH, OKAY...O-OKAY SURE.] Eeep!

[Gokudera isn’t trying to overwhelm Ochako. He’s just eager to introduce two of the most powerful and strongest women he’s ever met in this world. There’s clear excitement in his expression when Aurora hugs Ochako, and at her reaction, he gives an almost jolly little chuckle, his voice like a bell and clipped at the end.

He’s not felt so happy in his entire life.

To have friends and family together. Maybe it’s the holiday spirit? Nah, probably the alcohol. But still, his boss, his loves, friends… it’s not very often he gets to feel this way.

He’s been gone from home for so long, he almost forgot what it felt like.

Every time he looks at Aurora, his heart skips a beat, so he’s admiring her even in this moment, pride and comfort in his green eyes.]

I must thank you, truly. Without you, Hayato would still be collar-bound. And not only have you freed him of that device, but you have also been a most gracious hostess!

Thank you so much for all that you have done, truly. Ah, but where are my manners? Yes, I am Aurora. Thank you so much for allowing me to attend this celebration!

[Once she releases Ochako from her embrace, she moves back to Gokudera's side. There's a soft HOO! As an absolutely massive Eurasian Eagle Owl flies down and lands on Aurora's shoulder.]

Ah, and we mustn't forget, this is my familiar, Vivek.

[It's really, really sweet the way Gokudera looks at Aurora like like, and Ochako would definitely tease him gently about it - he's so smitten, it's adorable - but she's still a bit flustered by the sudden hug and kiss to both cheeks, which are definitely a lot pinker than usual now. She's not not the touchy-feely sort, and affection is not a stranger to Ochako in any way, but most of the time that's reserved for people she knows a bit better. Maybe different customs and such, ahaha...

At least she's a good sport about it, and just giggles awkwardly.]

Eh..hehee, it's really nothing at all!! Hearing about that collar from my own friend, I knew I had to do something. If I had the power to help, then I couldn't just look away from it, you know? [Despite not being on great terms at the time.] Everyone deserves a happy ending, right? And I can see he's found his in a number of ways, hee.

Aurora-san, please make yourself at home here. I'm really glad to meet you and if there's anything you nee--hiee! [Jumping just a little at the sudden appearance of such a big bird, Ochako stumbles back just a bit before catching herself. Lord, the surprises tonight will never cease, will they? It's to be expected at this point, she assumes...] Ah, eh...haha! That scared me a little, but it's nice to meet you too, Vivek! Eeh...I don't think my own familiar will be making an appearance tonight. Aludra-san doesn't exactly like so many people all in one place like this, or this kind of noise.

[The equally large, white dire wolf spirit is a bit of a recluse herself, and is probably squirreled away in Ochako's room in the castle, or another part where she can curl up and sleep peacefully. Probably for the best, the wolf is the size of a draft horse...and no one needs that wandering around.]

[She better be more cautious than gentle if she teases him about being smitten. Gokudera will get flustered, since he’s the type, but he also has so much baggage he could dump if she prods too hard. She may learn too much.

But with him slightly intoxicated, holding aurora’s drink and his own and admiring the interaction before him, he’s in no mood to tease or bicker. It’s all just warm fuzzy feelings over here. His cheeks are growing pink and he has to look away bashfully while they talk about him.]

This is no ending-!

[He certainly doesn’t want to think about endings. Not after all the crap he’s been put through in three worlds away from home.

It’s fun to see them discuss familiars, and Gokudera looks around for his own.]

Where did Larry get off to…?

[Not asked to anyone, but an idle pondering. Larry may pop up somewhere and try to give Ochako affection, knowing how eager he is about making friends and springing up out of nowhere.]

I hope I may still meet Aludra with time! I am incredibly fond of meeting people's familiars and animals in general. Perhaps that is why I have animal magic. In any case, I must agree with Hayato! We've only just begun, it's much too soon to say this is happily ever after. We've so much to explore now that his collar is off!

Ah! Perhaps the three of us can do something with it gone! I would love to hear how it was removed over lunch sometime. Would that be amiable to you? [She looked at Gokuderda.] We should ask Zuko if he wishes to join us!

I'm much more similar to your Aludra, I'm not used to being around so many people, even after a year here.

[Ochako just giggles again at Gokudera's response, shaking her head. He's right, he's definitely right...not an ending at all, so maybe a "happily ever after" of sorts? That definitely sounds better, given all that he's been through. Ochako is happy for him!! He found freedom, love, and a good life...it's all she could ask for a friend, really.]

Mm, if you really want to meet her, Aurora-san, I'm sure I could call her...but I can't guarantee she'd come until more people are gone. [And really, Ochako doesn't mind if people stay for a while, or even sleep over. There's plenty of space.] Oh, i-if that's really alright...I would have to intrude. And, eheh...the story isn't all that glamorous, really, i-it was over quite quickly, a-and I wwas really nervous the entire time, ah--

[She blushes, deeply, hunching her shoulders and poking her fingers together. Ochako sort of has a hell of a stress nap after it, as well as a big ol' cry, milkshakes with Izuku, and was fortunate enough to see a gorgeous meteor shower to boost her spirits, too. But lord almighty, everything prior to that was so stressful, she can't even imagine what Gokudera went through.]

[Gokudera feels at peace finally, merry with the alcohol he’s consumed, smitten by the company of the people he loves. It isn’t just the people he is dating, after all. There are a good many people attending this party that he is astronomically grateful for.]

It’s really as she says, Rose. It was almost over as soon as it began. You overcame your nerves, though, and did well.

[The plan went off without a hitch.]

Oh, please do not insist upon on the matter on my account.

Still, I am glad that you overcame your nerves. [She reached out and ran an idle finger along Gokudera's neck.] Now Hayato has much more freedom.

And not only were you able to overcome your nervousness but you are now holding this fabulous event! You are a woman of many talents! There are even some familiar faces I see. You know Izuku?

[Rose again... Ochako's starting to think that might be this young lady's nickname of sorts, sort of like Bakugou calls her 'Cheeks' now. It's kind of cute actually, how similar the two are. She smiles a little, rubbing the back of her neck, and averts her gaze. It's still so uncommon for her to accept praise like this, it just doesn't happen often, and Ochako's always been a humble thing. Still, it does feel...nice. Nice to know that what she did really had an effect on someone. She really hopes that by taking up her title, she can do more of that.

To a less extent, yeah, but still helping.]

Mmh, I thankfully have training with high-stress scenarios like that, but it was still very different from what I usually do. [She looks between the two, really takes them in, and her smile widens into a big grin.] But I'm glad. I'm really glad I could help, and get to see you two here today.

Ah, yeah!! De--eh, I mean, um...Izuku is one of my very best friends. He comes from my world, too, and is my classmate at school. You might see a few of us here, ehehe...but I'm really not surprised you know Izuku. [Lord, that will never not be bizarre to say out loud without her friend's permission.] He's really nice, and super duper friendly and outgoing once he calms down a little bit.

[Goosebumps jump up on his skin at the finger running along his neck. He visibly shivers and lifts the shoulder nearest her, sensitive, ticklish, and letting out a little huff of breath, but not complaining.

Staaaahhhp~!

It tickles!]

[Gokudera chimes in.]

He looks like a Christmas tree in that sweater. I gave him a little star hair clip, too!

… And some snow shoes. He’s just been wearing sneakers and it is snowing outside…

You have training in such things? You're sounding more and more like a knight the more you say, Lady Ochako.

Izuku is a friend of mine as well. He's terribly sweet. I'm afraid he's had poor luck with the fae-folk, though, they seem to constantly be harassing him when our paths cross.

What are sneakers? [Aurora turned to look at Gokudera, not sure what snow shoes are, but able to guess by the name. But sneakers? Did Izuku use them to sneak around? He wasn't very good at it, in that case.]

Who else comes from your home? For me, I am the only one from my world. Which may be just as well.

[Ochako snorts at first, because...yeah, Izuku's sweater from Bakugou was universally the worst one, even she has to admit, and though hers is supposedly an equally "ugly sweater", Ochako loves it. It's comfy, soft, and keeps her plenty warm. Plus, the design is actually cute? Of all the so-called ugly sweaters to get...Bakugou got her one that's not ugly at all. In her eyes, anyway. But her laughter swiftly turns to a hoarse cough and sputter because IZUKU, WHAT.]

Eeh?! Just his sneakers?! Had I known that, I would have gotten him some actual winter gear!! That dummy... [Usually Izuku is a lot smarter than that? Ugh, she'll need to scold him a bit later...make sure he has a proper jacket, sweaters, and gloves... With all the scarring on his arms, the winters and cold temperatures are bound to be so much worse on his injured muscles than anyone else.

Back to Aurora, though.]

Ehehe, I guess a knight would be closest to a Hero in this world...it's kind of similar. I'm not sure if he's explained any of that at all to you, Aurora-san, but...eheh... seems he may have been preoccupied. D--Izuku...kun [That's a little better.] tends to get in over his head a lot sometimes. He's really good at being a little bit too reckless...

[And it's been getting worse and worse over time. Ochako's actually starting to get worried about him. Yeah, Heroes go into dangerous situations and are constantly putting themselves on the line, but Izuku tends to take that a step further and throw himself happily into those situations with lack of care or regard to himself. It's not heroic, it's dangerous and stupid.]

Oh, there are a few!! Bakugou-kun is the blond boy with spiky hair...he's a bit prickly, but he's actually a very wonderful person, though he doesn't like parties, so he'll probably not stay long, Eri-chan is the young girl here, Todoroki-kun is the one with red and white hair, Tokoyami-kun...ah. Ehehe, you can't miss him - he's the one that has a birds' head, and the little shadowy creature is his friend, Dark Shadow.

[She points out each person with a smile, growing wider and brighter with each one she spots. Ochako is just so happy they all came today for her party, on her birthday no less...even Bakugou came, and he hates this stuff, but he's participated and played games, ate, and even socialized a little. She's really happy, and the way Ochako's eyes glitter shows it. Not all her friends are here, but...it's enough. For today, it's enough.]

[Gokudera can’t help nodding his agreement that Ochako sounds much more like a Knight by her actions. She is a hero, so he supposes it is very fitting.

He gives a light, fond sigh at the mention of Midoriya struggling with the fae-folk. They’d met while repairing sprite nests together, and Greenie had insisted Gokudera was a nice person. He’d tried to deny it, and that was before his time in those other worlds, before he had his collar. He was so different then, much more abrasive.

Gokudera is staring off, taking a little trip down memory lane until he hears Rose’s question.]

Sneakers are the shoes he’s wearing now. They’re flat and incredibly basic, and provide poor insulation in cold weather. There are all types of sneakers, too. They’re like… sporty footwear? [He hopes that’s an accurate description. Gokudera is so not a sneaker-head.]

Mmm I can relate to him that way.

[Being reckless.]

Tch! He puts the prick in prickly…

[Gokudera rolls his eyes. He really doesn’t see how Bakugou is a ‘very wonderful person’. He’s only ever been a jerk. Not helped him once when he asked and legitimately needed it. Hell, even suffering in his collar, being in active pain, Bakugou did not ask or even seem to notice.

He owes him nothing. Not even a shred of kindness. Gokudera would stay huffy and focused on that bad attitude, but the mention of Todoroki has him looking about. He’s here, too!?]

Todoroki helped me with my magic!

[What a great guy! Helped him with his flames, and that means a great deal to Gokudera. Means more than he could ever convey.]

Mnn, prickly, you say? [Aurora glances at Gokudera and her mind went towards Zuko. Both boys hadn't exactly been the most open and friendly upon first meeting them. She shook her head.] I'd love to meet him.

[And form her own opinions on the young man. If Ochako said he was a good person and was from her world while Gokudera called him a "prick." She looked around the room to try and find all the people Ochako pointed out.]

They all sound lovely, and I'm sure they are as you say. I'm very glad to have this opportunity to meet so many new people.

[Ochako nods as if to affirm Gokudera's description of the shoes, then her face sort of pinches a bit when Bakugou is brought up in a negative light. She gives him a bit of a frown, shaking her head and crossing her arms. Yeah, she knows how Bakugou is - he's not the easiest to get along with, but--]

He's one of my best friends. [Ochako huffs.] He doesn't have the best personality to start out, but once you get to know him...he's a great friend. Loyal, perceptive, and attentive. It's not easy to get to that point, you really gotta earn it, but.. [She smiles at Aurora, with warmth and kindness.] I think you won't have any problems. And I hope you get along if and when you do meet him, hee!

All of them, actually, ehehe! If I could, I'd introduce you, but I don't want to take up too much of anyone's time. I just want people to enjoy, and you deserve to spend time together, too! [She looks between Gokudera and Aurora, looking suddenly a bit mischievous. Spirit of Mina Ashido, give her the power of Chaotic Romantic.] It may not be the New Year yet, but...we'll have fireworks later. In the back gardens.

It's a good chance to be alone~
