Arrival: Multiple Prompts [OPEN]
Who: Zelda and your character!
What: Getting acquainted shenanigans and anime tropes
When: Arrival
Where: Multiple locations
Warnings: None at the moment but please mark CW if needed.
1: The Red Spring
A: When the new arrivals reached the resort town, some were pretty tired. Zelda was one of those who was extremely exhausted as she was not used to traveling this much. She desperately needed to rest. So, when she checked in to her inn room, she didn’t even complain or see who her roommate was before plopping unceremoniously onto her twin sized bed and passing out. She would awaken a couple hours later to meet said roommate and be very confused and probably a little embarrassed.
She would also be quite intrigued by the various technological marvels, examining them like an overexcited puppy and wanting to test all of them them out. Though the video games may cause a friendly rivalry if she is challenged.
B: [Incoming Anime Trope! RIP Zelda's Dignity] After a most likely very awkward exchange between Zelda and her roommate, she decided to go investigate The Red Spring. The beauty and majesty of it reminded her of the Spring of Power and Spring of Courage that she had spent many long hours in prayer. However, there was something different about this one. It didn’t evoke anxiety in her. Instead she had more of a sense of peace. As she was still a bit tired, and she knew there was still a very long journey to the final destination, the rumors she had heard about the Spring having restorative and temporary energy enhancement properties lured her in.
So, she did exactly what she would have in her own world (though she would probably have soldiers standing guard), found the most secluded space and undressed (what are swimsuits? And It’s not like the prompt specified that they were provided.), laying her clothing out neatly on some flat rocks. Zelda waded into the Spring, immediately feeling the rejuvenating and relaxing effects. She may have relaxed a bit too much and neglected to pay attention to her surroundings. So should someone stumble upon her, she would probably die of mortification. Unless someone was courteous enough to help her out with this?
C: It also may have been possible that in her relaxation Zelda could have lost track of time and before she knew it, it was sunset and the Spring lit up in a bright red hue, evoking a feeling of panic in the princess. Yup, it also happened to be a full moon that night. Would she be able to return to shore before the water’s unpredictable effects got to her? And what if she wasn’t as alone as she thought
D: If she hasn’t died of mortification the night before, Zelda would have gone to the training grounds, early in the morning before departure, in hopes of discovering what type of magic she had been granted. Though a little hesitant, as magic had been a somewhat sore subject for her, her entire life, she would like to assist someone with their own training. She would probably be quite shocked if she received praise for her efforts as she had only received negative reinforcement from her father thus far.
2. Eat Well
A: The amount of food at the banquet would be astonishing to Zelda, even as she had been to many banquets before. And the tastes! How different than anything she had eaten back home. As much as she would want to indulge, she also had manners and would take a modest helping of the things she would like to try most and set out to one of the open spaces at the long banquet tables.
Perhaps she would meet a new acquaintance and hit it off well enough that they would be acceptable roommates? After all, living alone in a strange place would be pretty lonely.
3. Grail, and Grail and Grail Again?
A: If she hadn’t found a questing partner or group already, Zelda would be just stubborn enough to try to attempt the quest on her own. Of course it wouldn’t be surprising if she ended up getting herself into trouble with some beast or another and needs to be rescued by a friendly stranger? She’s not really the best fighter.
Wildcard!
A: Feel free to start your own top level with any other shenanigans you would like to have with Zelda!
((Hoping I did this right!))

"Nor I Britain, King Arturia, and the pleasure is mine. I aplogize for my failure to show appropriate respect."
She paused a moment, her polite self warring with her inquisitive scholarly side. This was probably a bit too apparent as well, because after being here for a bit, she had relaxed the control and restrictions she usually placed on herself (and had placed on her).
She had two questions that the internal debate (mostly) consisted of. Why would a king 'lower themselves' so to speak, to the status of knight? Perhaps it was something similar to Zelda's being in command of the Champions; and secondly was the obvious, why Arturia called herself a king over a queen?
However, Zelda was also aware that people had been brought here from many different worlds and backgrounds, and it did give her a measure of comfort to find someone at least somewhat familiar with the customs of her world from the perspective of it being more than just a fairy tale. And hopefully King Arturia would understand why it was that she was in need of rescuing in the first place, as battle prowess wasn't exactly something befitting of a princess, at least in her world.

[ She notes Zelda's stiffness. One would have questions, wouldn't they? ]
I can see that you have questions. By all means, I'll answer them as best as I can.
no subject
"Am I that obvious?" she smiled abashedly, "Well, I do have a question or two."(or 5, but she wasn't going to say that out loud.)
"Please, do not hesitate to stop me if I am overstepping my bounds, but, why do you call yourself a knight, and a king for that matter? By all accords, shouldn't you be named queen?"
She pursed her lips as she contemplated the revelation that this land and Arturia's shared the same name. Had she been the odd one? As the princess was wholly unfamiliar with any of the naming conventions of this world upon her arrival, aside from the small amount of similarities it held to her own of course. It was no wonder no one she had encountered thusfar had even heard of Hyrule.
But then her expression changed to one of concern. If both lands shared the same name, was it possible that they were one and the same? And the king had specified that she 'once ruled' and was no longer a ruler. Had she been overthrown?
Zelda had barely met this person and here she was theorizing wild scenarios of what might have happened in her past. The emotional response was probably attributed to the rumors swirling around her own kingdom of her being the heir to nothing. A princess without a kingdom, as it was predicted to be destroyed, by means of her own inabilities, was one thing. But a king having what was rightfully theirs, taken from them through no fault of their own... (Well, she wasn't positive on that last part). In any case, it was rather disconcerning. Zelda sighed, and decided that the only way her mind would be put to rest would be if she just came out with it and asked.
"Forgive my forwardness, but what is your story? You need not say anything at all if you feel it is not my place to know. Of course should you choose to humor me, I will do the same. Perhaps we can chat while we look for the Grail?"

[ She stands by Zelda's side and will walk alongside her as she speaks. ]
I was born during a war-torn era after Britannia lost it's protection from the Roman Empire. It was known as the Dark Ages, and during that time, a Mage known as Merlin prophesized that Uther Pendragon—the then-current King—would have another child, and that child would be his successor as King. Uther believed in this prophecy, however the child born was a girl, not a boy.
In my time, a King could not make a female child his successor as King. However, Merlin delightfully declared that my sex had never mattered, and I was separated from the castle until the day of prophecy. At the age of five, I was entrusted to one of the King's vassals, and I was adopted and raised the same way a knight would be.
[ She realizes that she should probably cut the story somewhat shorter. A proper telling of her story could come at a more relaxed time.
So, with a quick clearing of her throat... ]
To summarize, the prophesized day came, and I pulled the Sword of Selection, Caliburn, out of the stone and became King. History has my name known as Arthur Pendragon, as during my life, I had hid my identity as a female. After all, no one will care about the King's appearance or even notice it if the king acts like a king.
That is why I am a King, not a Queen. I am a knight and king above all.
[ She does note Zelda's concern, though, and decides to elaborate on the country she ruled. ]
However, my Kingdom, as well as my life, ended long ago. In my world, Camelot is no more.

"I am sorry for your loss, but how is that even possible? You stand before me very much alive," she commented, eyebrows raised.

[ It would confuse someone, wouldn't it? ]
You see, in the world I come from, the era of my rule had long-since ended. The legend of King Arthur was just that, a legend.
[ She looks down a bit, but continues. ]
It's a rather long story, so I will leave many of the more intricate details for another time. The fact remains that I was overthrown by one who I deemed unworthy of the throne, and that my life and rule ended on the hills of Camlann.
For my Kingdom I would sacrifice anything, even my own humanity and existence. In the present era of the world I hail from, an event known as the Holy Grail War started. Heroes from all ages are summoned by Masters for this ritual in order to battle for ownership of an omnipotent wish-granting device.
[ Not unlike the quest they were on, actually. ]
I was summoned because I had a wish I wanted to see granted. If my rule was not enough, then I wished for someone more suitable to pull the sword from the stone instead of me.
[ She takes a breath. ]
However, watching a certain someone helped me to realize the mistake in my wish. I lived my life to the best of my ability... and one day, I hope to know whether the path I chose was wrong or not.
[ She takes another breath and smiles at Zelda. ]
That is how I am standing before you now. I was summoned the the present era of the world I come from, and have now been brought here.

This 'Holy Grail War' sounded intriguing though. The princess briefly wondered if any past incarnations of the Hero or even herself from her world had ever been summoned by one of these 'Masters.' Though their Holy Grail also sounded very similar to the Triforce of her world.
She nodded her understanding of the last part of the knight's story. Although not as dire a mistake, she had also learned from quite a few of her own mistakes by watching a certain someone.
As promised, Zelda intended to relate her own story. After seeing how hard it was for Arturia to do so, it was only fair. However, she had no idea where to really start. Hers was also pretty complicated from an outside perspective.
"Hmm..." she mused after a long while of silent contemplation as they continued to walk. "My story," she began, "Could also be surmised as one of war. It dates back to the founding of my kingdom. It may sound a bit fanciful to one not accustomed to the legends, but I will try my best to explain."
And that is what she did. She told the story from the beginning of Hyrule's creation and the scourge of Calamity Ganon, as well as her part in all of it, the reincarnation, the struggles she was having where no one in her line thus far had the same experience. Even how she had originally had troubles getting along with Link, her knight, in the beginning but that had changed once she looked at things from his perspective.
It actually felt good to talk about it as she had been holding a lot of the feelings involved in the whole thing bottled inside. This was probably a good thing as those sorts of things were bound to come exploding out eventually.
She looked to Arturia at the conclusion with a sheepish smile.
"I did not mean to treat you as a therapist of sorts," she laughed awkwardly, "It just sort of... all flowed out once I started."

[ She does think for a bit, though. She does not feel as though Zelda is lying, however the story she has told is indeed fanciful. Not only that, but there is nothing in the information provided to Saber by the Holy Grail of her world seems to match up with Zelda's story.
So, her suspicions are fully confirmed. This is a different world, and the people here hail from worlds far different from her own. She had already suspected it, what with the technological state of this kingdom, and the fact that there is a different King Arthur, but she's certain of it now. ]
Still, I believe I can say for certain that we come from different worlds. When I was summoned, the Holy Grail supplied me with information of the era, as well as the history of mankind. I do not believe you are lying, however your story does not match up with any of my knowledge.
[ Still, she quickly returns to a relaxed demeanor. ]
Still, I am grateful that we have met, Princess Zelda. If you ever wish to talk, I will always be here. Perhaps one day I can tell you some more of my own tales.

"I would love to hear more of your adventures. The prospect of other worlds had never even occoured to me until I found myself here. It's actually quite fascinating, and I think I am going to try to learn as much as I can about these other worlds, by the perspective of the people originating from them.
Perhaps it will make me a better ruler someday?" She mused.
no subject
[ She smiles and nods. She can tell that Zelda is a capable person, and so she has her respect. ]
I do have one request though, if you do not mind.
no subject
"Thank you for your kind words King Arturia."
And then the other woman made her request.
"Of course, name it and I will do it to the best of my ability."
no subject
While I am, without a doubt, King Arthur... this land is vastly different from the one I ruled. They speak of King Arthur, but the King Arthur they speak of is not me.
[ It was strange, hearing talk of someone with the same name, but very evidently not herself. ]
While I seek audience with this other King Arthur, I am not so bold as to lay claim to the Pendragon name without any renown under my belt. Therefore, in the meantime, I will request that you refer to me by the name of the class I was summoned into in my world: Saber.

Zelda thought about this for a moment but nodded her agreement. "Okay, if that is your wish."
no subject
Well then, let's be off then, shall we? While I may not be a knight of your kingdom, I shall ensure your safety on this quest, Princess Zelda.
[ She hasn't exactly been told that she can call Zelda anything else, so she'll be keeping formalities up otherwise. ]
