I'm a lover, not a fighter
🧙 WHO: Gokudera Hayato, Naomi Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, Emet-Selch, Tsuna, and close CR (basically anyone who spoke to Gokudera about this)
⚔️️ WHAT: Gokudera's collar-removal procedure!
🕒 WHEN: Early November!
🗺️ WHERE: Dr. Kimishima's Clinic
⚠️ WARNINGS: Language, blood, mentions of decapitation (I'll update if there's anything else going on)
The Day Before
Anyone looking to reach out to Gokudera before his procedure can contact him through his IC inbox or in here to wish him luck or... offer any possible last words for him if they suspect he may need them.
Gokudera's pretty certain he isn't going to die, doesn't want to, and will openly say as much with a smile in order to make himself and anyone he talks to feel better. He will spend the day before the procedure keeping to himself, trying not to alert anyone of any possible upset. He'll seem ruminative and fairly aloof and avoidant when it comes to feelings unless anyone calls him on his bullshit.
For those looking to simply talk to him about this, now would be their best chance. Gokudera has only really informed his boss of everything, and even his best friends aren't contacted. Sorry, but he's trying to keep the worrying for everyone to a minimum.
Maybe he needs to be distracted before the big day! Be the one to distract or offer a kind word! Or... not!
The Day of...
The only people allowed to be in the room of the procedure are Emet-Selch, Dr. Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, and Gokudera (obviously). There are people Gokudera would like to see directly after, to announce the successful removal of his collar, or if things turn out badly, would like them to know about his death. In an effort to keep the clinic free of a crowd of close friends, that lobby may only be occupied by Tsuna (or Midoriya as well if he can't get his nerves straight). The preparation for this is probably going to take longer than the procedure itself. This is the time for high nerves and lots of anxious sweating about everything.
The Procedure
Here's the plan:
- Ochako uses kinetic magic to keep the collar in place
- Gokudera uses the Mini potion to shrink himself
- Gokudera falls/shrinks out of the collar's range
- Ochako then uses her magic to move the collar into a lock-box (gotta keep other necks, fingers, wrists or whatever safe from the collar)
There's a lot that COULD go wrong but to anyone who knows Gokudera or what he's been through... this is going to go smooth because it's about time something went well for him.
The Freedom! AKA: Gokudera Independence Day (I'll see myself out)
Gokudera is roughly four inches tall and will stay that way for a few hours. He's FREE! Finally! Consider you get a text message saying the procedure was a success! He'll be celebrating later but hasn't actually planned anything out.
If you didn't get a text from him, you could have gotten a text from anyone involved. Maybe you even got sent a picture of a tiny!Gokudera with no collar around his neck. Blow his phone up with congratulation texts! Show up at the clinic (Naomi may not like that), but hey it's good news! React however you want! Just have fun!
Celebration???
Are we throwing a party? Is there something I forgot? Have a blast and I don't care how your character found out. We have fun here.

"Let's begin then. Secure the collar, Uraraka; Gokudera, drink up once that's done."
Both of them are evidently nervous, but they had to proceed if they were going to get through this. Otherwise, being here was pointless.

“This isn’t a one-time shot.” He says, hoping to ease some of the girl’s nerves. He knows that it’s a life-or-death scenario, but if he uses the potion and her grasp on the collar falters, and it shrinks with him, it’ll be a failure, but not a fatal one.
As tricky as it may be for him to get his hands on more pixie dust to get a new shrinking potion from Emet-Selch, it’d be easier than being brought back to life.
Not that he expects that. He has to keep reminding himself to remain positive.
Despite the nerves, he’s seemingly relatively calm about this.
Gokudera won’t be drinking the potion, but pouring it over his head carefully. Still, he uncorks the bottle while holding his collar up, waiting until it is secured in place with magic and still completely oblivious to this procedure.
“Got it?”
Not asking if she understands, but if Ochako has the collar secure. If it starts to tighten, she’ll feel it pulling in her “grasp”. So far so good, though.

"I've got it!" And her brows are knit together in firm concentration as she holds the position of the collar, willing it not to budge even a fraction of an inch.
no subject
For the collar’s part, there is a red flash of light, something of a beam within it and it shudders, charged with energy, it pulls tight. Ochako should move that so it does not drop on or around the tiny teenager still trying to step out of the gown and into a safer area. The box to contain the pet ring is waiting, open, and Gokudera is still a few inches tall, crawling out from under the cover and trying to hide his miniature indecency.
no subject
It won't be, she tells herself. We're all going to smile together.
It's hard not to want to watch what's going on, but the girl doesn't dare break her concentration. There's a slight falter when Gokudera shrinks and falls into the tent that is his hospital gown, but she holds fast once more but a fraction of a second later. Focus! They've come this far and she won't be the one to ruin everything!!
"Someone secure Gokudera-san after I get this contained!" Because by god, is the collar straining in her steely grip, and the light at her fingertips is bright as she doesn't quite move it to the holding box, but teleports it there in a burst of magic, releasing her hold on it only once it's in the box and locked up tight.

That went much smoother than anticipated, and watching Gokudera fight with the hospital gown at his size, plenty enough amusing. Still, she will gather him and the clothes up to move them both aside, and make sure he can peek his head out from the collar of the gown. With the collar housed away and Gokudera soon situated on the bed placed in the room, Naomi looks back and nods... but then looks at him again.
"I suppose one thing I neglected to ask is what you want done with the collar."
It's locked up, but did he want Emet to look at it, or was it going to be destroyed?

He feels like he falls when he shrinks, and everything is so much louder and muffled, almost distant from his spot on the floor. The boy moves towards Naomi as she approaches to get him away from the collar Ochako is struggling with. It shrinks and expands, trying to contort out of the grasp or do something. If anyone were to touch it, it looks like it could actively burn them. Inside the box, it’s silent, not moving a bit.
Gokudera sighs, then looks up at Naomi. “I’ll keep it. For now, at my size, I think my boss is able to look after it.”
Then he’s looking over at Ochako and throwing both fists into the air, “YOU DID IT! I KNEW YOU COULD!!”
no subject
"I--we...did it." Holy cow. It's done. It's all over. Nothing bad happened. "Heh...eheheh!! W-We...we di-did it! Thank you, Kimishima-sensei!"
She dips into a deep bow, then hiccups a little bit, hiding how frayed her nerves still are behind an enormous grin, then scoots over to where Gokudera is to make sure he's really doing okay, and that there were no effects of the collar not being on his throat or something. Hell only knows.
"Are you feeling okay?"
no subject
Looking over to Uraraka, she nods. "Yes, you managed to do that in the first attempt. Excellent work."
Which, yes, meant she prepared the room for little, but better it didn't come to being necessary.
no subject
“I feel perfectly fine!”
His tiny stomach grumbles and the noise is inaudible, but his hand on his stomach and the slight frown with the motion is telling.
“Just hungry!”
And he has a few hours or something until the shrinking potion wears off, so he’s just ready to wait until then before he eats. He’ll take an empty tummy over feeling unbearable, sudden pain ANY DAY.
“Heheh… can you take me to my boss? I need to let him know I’m alright.” He says to the doctor, sitting down so he’s less likely to fall and hurt himself.
no subject
"I'm so glad... I'm so, so glad." Standing up again, a tiny bit wobbly but otherwise fine, Ochako nods to the doctor. First time? Ochako was genuinely treating this as the first, last, and only time this could work without it being fatal. Maybe Kimishima-sensei was trying to butter her up, but she knows better. "Thank you, sensei. Please take good care of Gokudera-san until he returns to his original height. Um...i-if there's anything else I can do to help, too, I c-can stay a while..."
Maybe. She sort of wants to just sit and relax, but it feels weird to. It happened so fast, she's almost wondering if something might happen the moment she leaves or whatever. Unwarranted, and untrue, but Ochako just can't help how her nerves are starting to catch up now.

While she decides on the best course of transport, she looks over at Uraraka, and shakes her head. "No, go home and get some rest. I'd rather you be somewhere comfortable to recover mentally."
Because going from one stressful situation to relief that it was over could be quite taxing. Not only that, but a hospital was not a calm environment for Uraraka to remain; and if an emergency went off, that might be it.
