I'm a lover, not a fighter

🧙 WHO: Gokudera Hayato, Naomi Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, Emet-Selch, Tsuna, and close CR (basically anyone who spoke to Gokudera about this)
⚔️️ WHAT: Gokudera's collar-removal procedure!
🕒 WHEN: Early November!
🗺️ WHERE: Dr. Kimishima's Clinic
⚠️ WARNINGS: Language, blood, mentions of decapitation (I'll update if there's anything else going on)

The Day Before

Anyone looking to reach out to Gokudera before his procedure can contact him through his IC inbox or in here to wish him luck or... offer any possible last words for him if they suspect he may need them.

Gokudera's pretty certain he isn't going to die, doesn't want to, and will openly say as much with a smile in order to make himself and anyone he talks to feel better. He will spend the day before the procedure keeping to himself, trying not to alert anyone of any possible upset. He'll seem ruminative and fairly aloof and avoidant when it comes to feelings unless anyone calls him on his bullshit.

For those looking to simply talk to him about this, now would be their best chance. Gokudera has only really informed his boss of everything, and even his best friends aren't contacted. Sorry, but he's trying to keep the worrying for everyone to a minimum.

Maybe he needs to be distracted before the big day! Be the one to distract or offer a kind word! Or... not!

The Day of...

The only people allowed to be in the room of the procedure are Emet-Selch, Dr. Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, and Gokudera (obviously). There are people Gokudera would like to see directly after, to announce the successful removal of his collar, or if things turn out badly, would like them to know about his death. In an effort to keep the clinic free of a crowd of close friends, that lobby may only be occupied by Tsuna (or Midoriya as well if he can't get his nerves straight). The preparation for this is probably going to take longer than the procedure itself. This is the time for high nerves and lots of anxious sweating about everything.

The Procedure

Here's the plan:

- Ochako uses kinetic magic to keep the collar in place
- Gokudera uses the Mini potion to shrink himself
- Gokudera falls/shrinks out of the collar's range
- Ochako then uses her magic to move the collar into a lock-box (gotta keep other necks, fingers, wrists or whatever safe from the collar)

There's a lot that COULD go wrong but to anyone who knows Gokudera or what he's been through... this is going to go smooth because it's about time something went well for him.

The Freedom! AKA: Gokudera Independence Day (I'll see myself out)

Gokudera is roughly four inches tall and will stay that way for a few hours. He's FREE! Finally! Consider you get a text message saying the procedure was a success! He'll be celebrating later but hasn't actually planned anything out.

If you didn't get a text from him, you could have gotten a text from anyone involved. Maybe you even got sent a picture of a tiny!Gokudera with no collar around his neck. Blow his phone up with congratulation texts! Show up at the clinic (Naomi may not like that), but hey it's good news! React however you want! Just have fun!

Celebration???

Are we throwing a party? Is there something I forgot? Have a blast and I don't care how your character found out. We have fun here.

Ochako's finger pads glow pink the moment she activates her magic, the same gentle aura surrounding the collar as she focuses solely on it. It all honesty, this should be easy for her - keeping something stationary and 'floating' is basically what she does all the time back home, with her quirk, the only difference is that she never really had to fully concentrate on the items she held. They just...went. And stayed where she thought them to, in Zero Gravity. This is different...she has to maintain a hold on the collar, and keep gravity from working against it, as well as keep it from following Gokudera as he shrinks down. She doesn't want to fail, she wants to set him free, to save him from a life of pain, and perhaps an eventual death. This is what all her training prepared her for, and yet she can't fully shake the nerves.

"I've got it!" And her brows are knit together in firm concentration as she holds the position of the collar, willing it not to budge even a fraction of an inch.

Ochako only meets Gokudera's eye a second before she has to refocus on the collar, but her lips do quirk up at the corners just a moment. She knows he meant to reassure her with the gesture, probably, but she just can't shake the nerves that eat away at her, pushing hard against the door of her psyche. That could be the last face he makes if this goes wrong, she thinks, and then grits her teeth, shoving back against the intruder into her head, and steels herself again.

It won't be, she tells herself. We're all going to smile together.

It's hard not to want to watch what's going on, but the girl doesn't dare break her concentration. There's a slight falter when Gokudera shrinks and falls into the tent that is his hospital gown, but she holds fast once more but a fraction of a second later. Focus! They've come this far and she won't be the one to ruin everything!!

"Someone secure Gokudera-san after I get this contained!" Because by god, is the collar straining in her steely grip, and the light at her fingertips is bright as she doesn't quite move it to the holding box, but teleports it there in a burst of magic, releasing her hold on it only once it's in the box and locked up tight.

"I got him..."

That went much smoother than anticipated, and watching Gokudera fight with the hospital gown at his size, plenty enough amusing. Still, she will gather him and the clothes up to move them both aside, and make sure he can peek his head out from the collar of the gown. With the collar housed away and Gokudera soon situated on the bed placed in the room, Naomi looks back and nods... but then looks at him again.

"I suppose one thing I neglected to ask is what you want done with the collar."

It's locked up, but did he want Emet to look at it, or was it going to be destroyed?

The tension only really leaves her body when Ochako hears Gokudera's voice, really, most of the rest of the world drowned out by a very harsh buzzing in her ears. She looks a little flushed, having been really concentrating to make sure everything went smoothly, and there's a light sheen of sweat on her brow - that damn collar was really fighting against her grip - but after a moment to process that she did it, that she actually was able to save someone with her own power, she seems just wobble a little on her feet. The anxiety crash is being held back considerably, but she still looks like she ran a marathon either way. But, there's a smile spreading on her face.

"I--we...did it." Holy cow. It's done. It's all over. Nothing bad happened. "Heh...eheheh!! W-We...we di-did it! Thank you, Kimishima-sensei!"

She dips into a deep bow, then hiccups a little bit, hiding how frayed her nerves still are behind an enormous grin, then scoots over to where Gokudera is to make sure he's really doing okay, and that there were no effects of the collar not being on his throat or something. Hell only knows.

"Are you feeling okay?"

"Speaking about your size, we're going to keep you here until you return to your original size... just in case." Not that she doesn't think the potion will wear off, but it's in the off-chance that it didn't. Safer to have him in the hospital where he could be monitored and any potential complications be watched than potentially outside and ending up lost. She's sure people would do their best, but accidents happen... also, Gokudera.

Looking over to Uraraka, she nods. "Yes, you managed to do that in the first attempt. Excellent work."

Which, yes, meant she prepared the room for little, but better it didn't come to being necessary.

Ochako is definitely riding a bit of a high right now, smothering down all the anxiety and fear she had during, and even before, the procedure. There's going to be a moment where all that catches up to her - the anxiety crash, that is - but it'll just be a temporary thing...and she's happy it's all over and went as smoothly at it did. Her eyes are a tiny bit glassy as she looks at Gokudera and rubs her face with a giggle.

"I'm so glad... I'm so, so glad." Standing up again, a tiny bit wobbly but otherwise fine, Ochako nods to the doctor. First time? Ochako was genuinely treating this as the first, last, and only time this could work without it being fatal. Maybe Kimishima-sensei was trying to butter her up, but she knows better. "Thank you, sensei. Please take good care of Gokudera-san until he returns to his original height. Um...i-if there's anything else I can do to help, too, I c-can stay a while..."

Maybe. She sort of wants to just sit and relax, but it feels weird to. It happened so fast, she's almost wondering if something might happen the moment she leaves or whatever. Unwarranted, and untrue, but Ochako just can't help how her nerves are starting to catch up now.

"I can do that..." Though, hm, hospital procedures meant wheelchair, but she could carry him, too. Either way would appear somewhat ridiculous, but she couldn't very well let him just walk either. It was already enough watching him move around on the bed.

While she decides on the best course of transport, she looks over at Uraraka, and shakes her head. "No, go home and get some rest. I'd rather you be somewhere comfortable to recover mentally."

Because going from one stressful situation to relief that it was over could be quite taxing. Not only that, but a hospital was not a calm environment for Uraraka to remain; and if an emergency went off, that might be it.
