🧙 WHO: Din and You
⚔️️ WHAT: Quests and the general day to day of life
🕒 WHEN: throughout October
🗺️ WHERE: Camelot and around
⚠️ WARNINGS: potential violence?
A - New Digs
[With all the refugees coming in to the city, Din figures he can at least give up where he's been squatting for the past few months. He has enough funds from all the work he's done around town to purchase a caravan wagon. It's not big, it's a little run down, and currently it's not going anywhere from where it's parked on the edge of town, but Din likes it. It's familiar, and reminds him of the Razor Crest, as much as that still stings.
He's usually up early making repairs since the roof leaks, and the door's off its hinges, and it definitely needs a new coat of paint. But he's happy with it.]
B - Headless Horseman
[There's the sound of impact as Din dodges out of the way of the charging horse, his spear landing a few feet ahead of him. The Headless Horseman rides past, and he can hear the thundering hooves retreat. He does his best to stand quickly and grab his spear, readying himself for the next charge.]
I've got it distracted! Get them away!
[There's a slight tickle in the back of Din's head, which he's started to realize is the sense that he can bargain with the creature in front of him. But he gets the feeling that his opponent is not in a listening mood at the moment.]
C - Bunker Down
[Even though he's out of the inn, there's still more work to be done it seems, so Din is focusing on making beds. It's not difficult. Certainly not as much work as regular maintenance on his star ship. And he's pretty good at that.]
Hey, could you hold that part steady? These need to fit together properly if the bed's going to stand.
[He doesn't have three arms so that makes some of this more difficult.]
D - Wildcard

[He shrugs.]
We were able to drive it off, but not before it burned down a city. Haven't seen it since.

[ Even for a dragon, that was quite a lot of damage. Maybe it had been particularly enraged, which... come to think of it, didn't bode well for future dragon-free excursions. If it was that pissed off, wouldn't it come back? ]
Who's 'we'?
no subject
[Din assumes it will probably come back if it gets hungry or something. The Dragons here are very different from the ones he's encountered.]
People like us, Otherworlders. There's a lot of us here.

[ Well... someonehad to man the taverns and shops, she supposed. Actually, perhaps this place was more like back home than she'd thought. ]
Everyone keeps asking me what kind of magic I can do. It's weird.
no subject
I'd like to say you get used to it, but it is weird.
[Oh good, someone who gets it.]
You figured it out yet?
no subject
[ And who would be better equipped to sling spells, the storied elven magic researcher or the ninja cat? No points for the correct answer to that one. ]
But I heard there are people here who can break curses.

[And while he's gotten used to it, it's still very much in the camp of others are better at this I'll still to what I know.]
Should be. Might be someone in town, but there's also a network you can ask.

[ She had been getting the distinct impression that most of the 'out-of-towners', in fact, came from some pretty odd corners of existence. At least the others had occasionally bandied around talk of some theoretical other world. ]
I will. Someone around here's got to know what they're doing. Bet they'll ask for an arm and a leg, though. [ Ah, well. Such was the price of work. ]

[He's spent enough time there and has enough people there that it currently works as a home base. Especially since he doesn't know where his tribe has gone.]
I can't say I know what the going rate is, but I can ask around.
no subject
Huh? Are you part of a guild or something? [ Or maybe the man simply wanted to steer loose business toward his own network of connections? Well, as long as they were good at what they did! ]
no subject
Not really, just been here a while. And it gets easier for everyone if information can be shared.
no subject
[ She assumed, anyway. Where there were people, there were secrets!! ] I bet there's still people who make their deals under the table.

[Not that he's ever opposed to the dark web quests. Some of them have brought good money.]
