A. Smashing Pumpkins [Pumpkin Mayhem - Drake/Darkwing]

[At first, Drake Mallard loved the idea of decorating some pumpkins! Nice way to get into the Halloween spirit. So one can join the civilian duck as he paints and/or carves some pumpkins. Of course, most of the designs he uses are based on Darkwing Duck and some of his villains! Join him during the calm before the storm and help him with decorating pumpkins... or when they start to come alive and take the off-duty hero by surprise!

Or later on, after he's made a costume change, Darkwing Duck will do some more patrols of the area and see if anyone else is having any trouble with rogue pumpkins...]

B. Heading Places [Don't Lost Your Head - Darkwing]

[When he hears rumors about the headless horseman, it sounds like a job for Darkwing Duck! ...A particularly scary job, but a job nonetheless!

And so, he ends up showing up to protect some volunteers who are cleaning up bodies in Celliwig. He keeps some distance from the volunteers and watches from the shadows because of his aesthetic. Perhaps someone is staking this out with him, or is one of the volunteers that this duck is trying to protect.

Or skip ahead to when the Headless Horseman makes his entrance, and Darkwing springs into action... starting with his catchphrase, of course!]

I am the terror that flaps in the night!
I am the dental floss that has been dropped into your candy bag!
I am... Darkwing Duck!

C. Beddy or Not [Bunker Down - Drake]

[So what happened at the end of last month sure was depressing! He felt some relief in being able to do his part to help save people from Lestari, but especially as a hero, he feels the punch from all of those that weren't saved elsewhere. So he throws himself into some relief work so that he can do something to help the survivors!

And so Drake can be seen at the woodworking sight, where he tries to help out with constructing some bunk beds. One can catch him in one of several scenarios. Tired out from all of his work, he could end up taking one of the unfinished beds for a trial run by passing out on it. Or he could be seen doing some strange work for one bed, like making the carving of a duck head coming from the foot of a bed, and also several imperfectly-shaped wheels off on the side... is he trying to make a Darkwing Duck racecar bed...?]

D. Wildcard

[It's really just her imagination - for as petrified of ghosts and horror as she is, sadly a lot of her friends are delighted by the genre, and movie nights at Heights Alliance tend to involve trying to get Ochako here to blast off higher and higher into the air with each passing movie's jumpscares and such. Honestly, she'd think there was a legitimate betting pool going between some of the boys at this point...]

I-I don't think so... Usually the farmlands doing use much in the ways of magic. I-I know a few pixies will sometimes nest in the hay bales and stuff, but a few months ago, we took care of them. I-I even had my friend make them a nice little home to live in away from the field with his magic. [Ochako jolts as a hard thump knocks against their makeshift barrier. Seems the pumpkins are starting to get a bit brave.]

Should we stop them? I don't want to ruin everyone's hard work, or the farmers' stock, but-- [There's another hard thump against the wood of the flipped table, and a squish sound. Seems the pumpkin that fired kamikaze'd itself at them is no more than a big mess on the other side of their barrier.] ...They'll ruin themselves at this rate! Or more!!

[A betting pool that Iida constantly has to break up!

Drake listens to her account as he nods along. It's actually quite wholesome story, a nice distraction from pumpkin trying to rain pain upon them!

Then he winces as he hears that squish!]

There goes my masterpiece... [He clears his throat.]

I don't think we have a choice. If they're wreaking havoc like this, then that makes them enemies to stop. We can try to see if we can stop them without ruining them... or we can find some way to make it up to the farmers another time. Either way, we have an enemy to face now! Before any one gets hurt, we have to punch those pumpkins!

[He stands up, propping his hands on his sides in a heroic pose! Though possibly making himself too open to potential pumpkin attacks.]

[That squish definitely isn't the greatest...but it's better than the sound of that hard gourd hitting someone's head or other body parts. Ochako's much prefer the squish of a breaking pumpkin than the crack of someone's bones being broken. She's been there, it's not exactly a fun time having a concussion and/or broken bones.

Or...something you worked long and hard on being destroyed. She gives Drake a sheepish, but apologetic smile before steeling herself. Right, they need to focus now.]

Then it's a pretty good thing I can punch real goo--AH!! WATCH OUT! [Sorry, Drake, but you're getting pushed right to the ground as one of the pumpkins swooped in, trying to take advantage of Drake giving away his position.] Ugh! These things are worse than magpies!!

[flapsin]

[Compared to an actual body injury, something like that is just gourdgeous.

Drake had just been building up his confidence when That happened. Drake quickly ducks down under the pumpkin and raises a leg to kick it away!]

Whoa! Thanks for the save there, Ochako. I- I just let my guard down for a second! BTW, I'm pretty sure real magpies aren't so bad!

[He says that and assumes a fighting position as he squares off against this pumpkin, which looks like another of his directions. This one has the image of another duck, but a jester-like one.] Oh great, it's Quackerjack!

[GORE....]

Depends on the season!

[For the magpies, that is, but!! That conversation will have to happen later! Because, realistically, their little shelter isn't going to protect them for much longer, and it seems like time is up for the duo when yet another pumpkin looms over them. Ochako scurries to her feet and also shifts her posture, ready to fight back against this new, orange fiend. ...Right after her cheeks puff up and she snorts quietly to herself, biting her lip to keep from giggling.

Qu...Quackerjack... Oh gosh, these kind of punny bird names are just fowl.]

Wha--...pfft! Wh-What sort of...p-person was Q-Qu...Q-Quack--ehehe... [AHEM.] Was he?

[flapsin]

[It's starting to feel like there's no safe haven from these pumpkins! This one floats around erratically and spits out seeds like confetti! Drake stays light on his feet as he tries to evade these attacks!

He does give a Look towards Ochako, but he gets it. It - it's a pretty funny name. Still, he'll describe the guy seriously while he prepares to strike back!]

A clown prince of conniving! A jester in the court of pure evil. He's one of Darkwing Duck's greatest foes, who constantly blurs the line between a prank and a crime - and tries to make sure it ends on a crime!

[Oh jeez, this certainly is turning into a real battle, isn't it? Ochako squeaks with alarm, also dodging the seeds spat at her, though one or two does nick her calves. Ouch, those things are sharp!

Ochako clears her throat at the Look, blushing in embarrassment and shame a little. L-Look, it's just...that is definitely her brand of humor - she likes dumb puns. Grew up with them, really, because her dad is of the same ilk. Truly, she's a bit of a bumpkin in that way, but Ochako just likes jokes and to laugh, no matter how dumb or cheesy they may be. But a villain is a villain, no matter what! And that means she's got to stop them!]

Mmh, I've never been a fan of harmful pranks...or villains. Any idea on how to beat him up? O-Or at least catch him? [She's like to uh...try to preserve these pumpkins!] If I had my costume, I could have use my wires, but...

[flapsin]

[He can relate very hard to that sense of humor! But right now, he's more worried about these villainous gourds.

Drake winces as some of those seeds make contact! His chest ends up getting pelted by some of them.]

I wish I had my costume and gadgets with me too. That would make this a whole lot easier! ...What about the string they have? Maybe we can try to use that, or see if there's actual rope around... or a big enough sack! Anything we can use to restrain these grand gourds...!

[floatsaway]

[Ochako winces when Drake is hit, then glowers at the fiendish pumpkins, brows knit together. If they don't stop these things, someone could actually get hurt!! She and Darkwing are no doubt made of tougher stuff, battling baddies all the time, but an innocent civilian sure isn't - they wouldn't be able to take the brunt of it if one of these things decided to divebomb them or something.]

Ugh, me too! I could use my wires to catch and tie these things up so easily! And guard better! [Honestly, her wrist guard are sturdy and thick, then block some decent projectiles.] But rope should work! I can probably use my magic to outspeed them...or distract them.

[flapsin]

[He's worried for Ochako"s sake too. The sooner they stop these pumpkins, the less harm they can cause! He stays on his feet while they talk.]

That sounds like a solid plan, Ochako! ...In fact, now that you mention it, I can lend you some help on the distracting front!

[He's still so used to operating as a powerless duck that he doesn't think about using his magic that often. But now he focuses his light magic to create an illusion of (a slightly more muscular) Darkwing Duck, which moves around the pumpkin in a circle!]

There! Now to get the rope...! [He rushes over to where the materials were to get his hands on some rope!]

[floatsaway]

[Oh, that's...so cool! And actually an extremely good (albeit slightly inaccurate, cough) distraction. Ochako shoots Drake a swift thumbs up as the pumpkin takes the bait and starts firing seeds at the illusion instead of them both, giving Drake the chance to slip away a second to grab the rope.]

Perfect!! Nice work, Darkwing-san! Okay, I think I should be able to round it up now, but just in case...

[Ochako grabs the rope with one hand, all five of her fingers, and a soft, pink glow surrounds it from the pads of her fingers before it falls falsely limp. Her kinetic magic always works better when she touches something, and though controlling things so fluid and mobile like rope isn't something she's ever done before...if she thinks of it like her wires, then even if she's caught by the pumpkin, she might still be able to wrap it up!]

[Nothing wrong here, just a distracting and very accurate illusion of the super buff Darkwing Duck! I heard that duck has an 8-pack.

And so Drake triumphantly brings the rope and proudly watches as Ochako does her thing!]

Now to put a 'squash' on this gourd!

[He declares that triumphantly while striking a hero pose! He's on deck if any other assistance is needed, but Ochako should have this next step in the bag. The Darkwing illusion stops in one place, so that the Quackerjack pumpkin will also halt to attack it... Leaving it a floating duck for Ochako's rope!]

[Oh man, those quips are truly terrible, but they have Ochako grinning like an idiot, despite herself. Listen, Hero work is usually not fun, nor is it pretty, and nearly all Heroes (aside from Ms. Joke) take themselves a little too seriously... Some humor sprinkled in makes the work fun, and a little less tense. And! It's a decent morale boost, in a weird way.

Ochako laughs, but she's quick to flick her hand outward and the rope follows the movement, curling around the stem of the pumpkin and tightening as Ochako loops it into a tight knot.]

Got it!! Dar--eh, Drake-san, help me reel it in!

[Cuz that pumpkin is definitely putting up a fight to free itself.]

[He feels like quips are an important part of the hero-ing business! Although that's partly because of the example set by the 'actual' Darkwing Duck, but he still has lots of fun with it!

He watches as she tries to lasso their enemy - and starts to move the moment it's clear that some help is needed.]

Sure thing! It's only fitting that I help reel in one of Darkwing Duck's greatest foes.

[He grips onto the rope and helps her to pull it, to drag that pumpkin down to the ground.]

Sorry Quackerjack, but we're going to have to ground you!

[floatsaway]

[It's definitely a team effort - getting the pumpkin close enough - but once it's in range, Ochako takes a deep breath inward and then exhales loudly, a deep and icy haze blowing out over the struggling gourd. Swiftly, frost and ice crystals spread over the pumpkin and it begins to freeze up...then fall to the ground with a bit of a thud. At least this way it's preserved! Drake won't have to redo his work.]

Got you!! Ehehe, you should I say, um--this villain's reign of terror has been put...on ice!

[B) YEAAAAH!!]]

[Teamwork definitely makes this dream work! And then Drake is back to being impressed as she freezes the pumpkin. He looks towards her with a proud grin.]

Nice one! Or should I say - cool job? Either way, we did it! [This pumpkiny reign of terror has been brought to an end.]
