[He stares at the offered hand for a long few moments, as if wondering what in the world it's doing there. Then he touches it briefly with one small paw.]

Mogget. [The cat says firmly, accepting no nicknames. However, he does not dismiss the 'pals' comment. This does seem to be how he makes friends.]

And I'd appreciate it if you could put a little bit of fish out for me now and then.
