Uniquely Qualified
🧙 WHO: Princess Aurora, her many animal friends, and you!
⚔️️ WHAT: Aurora is going to help with some of the fae and clean up after the storm
🕒 WHEN: Early January
🗺️ WHERE: All over
⚠️ WARNINGS: None I can readily think of
A. A Knocking We Will Go:
There was, perhaps, some weird twist of fate that Aurora had just been explaining fae, brownies amongst them, and not even a few weeks later, would need to help get rid of them.
Still, she comes up to the next address that was begging for assistance, her eagle owl comfortably sitting on her shoulder, though his size and weight must have surely been uncomfortable, but Aurora gave no indication of pain.
She looked up when she heard someone come towards her, about to knock on the door and paused.
"Oh, is this your home?" she asked, smiling.
B. After the Storm:
Aurora was no stranger to hard work and getting your hands dirty. She had lived her life as a peasant in the woods. Literally, everything was dependent on her and her aunts doing things for themselves from chopping wood for the winter, hatching the roof from leaks, gathering water, and everything else in between.
So something as simple as removing debris and helping with a mess was not that difficult a task.
The princess was currently on top of a roof along with several birds, squirrels, and even a raccoon or two as they were getting large branches from felled trees off the shingles.
As she was headed back to the ladder that had let her up there, though, unfortunately, it had been blown down by the wind.
So as you are going about your day, you may notice a group of animals trying to get a ladder out of the snow and back up against the wall or, you may hear yourself being called to from above.
"Oh! Excuse me, could I trouble you for but a moment?"
C: Wildcard

After the Storm
and certainly not in schoolis one teenaged boy. Being a night owl, Walter is out a little later in the day rather than bright and early in the morning, but he has likewise come with a mind to help clean up the city.It is as he is surveying the damage that he hears a voice call out. Not knowing to whom the words are addressed, he naturally looks in the direction of the sound, spotting first the fallen ladder, and then the figure of a person atop the roof.
...and a few animals. There are definitely animals up there with that lady.
"Do you need help with the ladder, Miss?" he calls back, footsteps already carrying him to the object in question. It's not precisely out of the way for him. He is out there to help.
no subject
no subject
Not to let an opportunity to practice his new magic go to waste, Walter draws on his kinetic powers to lift it up... and then situates it manually anyway, because finding the right ground is done better through feel. Placing a ladder on unstable ground is asking for trouble, after all.
"There you are. One righted ladder."
no subject
"Thank you, truly," Aurora smiled as she stepped down onto the firm ground. "I believe a harsh wind blew it down. A remnant from the storm, perhaps."
no subject
The animals trailing after is... new, as far as his experiences go. He doesn't know what quite to make of animals in general, really. Having kept the company of a vampire for so long, he's used to them being wary around him by extension.
"The warmth of the day melting some of the snow may have contributed, too." A slightly uneven footing combined with wind could easily knock over a ladder.
"Have you finished with the roof? I can stay and mind the ladder if you haven't."
no subject
"Oh, it's just twigs and some very light debris left up there now. Nothing my friends cannot help me with," she gestured up to the animals and around her.
"Unfortunately, new shingles will need to be replaced in some places, and I believe I saw some minor stress cracks in the windows, but that is something that will require a bit more time than just a few helping hands, paws, and talons."
She set down the basket of debris.
"Those were lodged in quite thoroughly. So there might be some damage to the roof. I would have to go up there again to really look."
no subject
"I don't know how many of us have saved up enough for such things. Perhaps an alchemist would be able to fashion basic tools?" He's not sure how useful stone and wood tools would be, however.
no subject
At the mention of the tools, she shook her head. "I do not think you should need to acquire the tools yourself just yet. We may be in luck that they are already available. Ah but, where my manners. My name is Aurora, what might your name be?"
no subject
Yet, when she introduces herself, he finds himself pausing anyway, looking over to her with a slightly bewildered glance. How do polite introductions go again? She seems like a polite sort of lady. "...Walter. It is good to make your acquaintance, Miss Aurora."

Sorry! My power has been out for the better part of several days.
No worries! I hope everything is okay!
I made it through with the combined might of layers and kittens.
Kittens will always fix everything. Also, this seems like a good place to wrap!
And a belated bow to tie it off. That's a wrap!
A Knocking We Will Go
Rose squeaks nervously as she hangs out in his jacket pocket: she is getting scared of these things making noises and ‘haunting’ everyone inside more than anything else, although Harry tries his best to calm her down.
“Hey, it’s going to be fine, Rose,” he tells her in a comforting tone before he turns his attention to Aurora, “Maybe we can team up and sort this mess out?”
no subject
"Well, let us deal with the matter," her own familiar, the giant eagle owl let out a screech. "Yes, I quite agree. We cannot make headway by standing outside. Shall we, Harry?" she giggled, opening the door after the knock.
Even just as she entered, a teacup came flying at the wall near the door, smashing against it before there was endless giggling from the creatures in the house. There was another screech from the owl and he slapped his wings, his wingspan longer than Aurora was tall. Some objects and paintings on the walls shook.
"My, that was a close one."
no subject
While he knows that there is going to be dust bunnies and brownies to deal with, he was not expecting a painting to be thrown at his direction. He would have gotten injuries from it if he hadn’t stop it on its tracks by freezing its trajectory and putting it down to the floor.
“Yeah, that is really close, these guys sure like to get rowdy at times,” he tells her while Rose shakes in nervous concern.

Aurora took a deep breath and the Eagle Owl merely smiled, or looked to be smiling, as much as an owl could.
She began to sing. There were no words to the song, but she put her powers into it, calling out to the little creatures like she would anything else, trying to summon them to her.
Her voice rang through the room and multiple dust bunnies began, entrance in a way, to hop over to Aurora, gathering around her feet.
no subject
Rose squeaks to her master that they better get these things leaving at any moment once Aurora is done, so Harry snaps out of his initial reaction and readies himself to escort these bunnies out of the house.
no subject
She made a gesture to Harry, trying to signal him that she was about to end the song.

Having the mind of a dog just makes him thinks that sticks help. It helped him. He doesn't know why, but it makes him happy, and carrying it around makes him feel better. She needs help?
No. She needs a stick. Here lady, have a stick! Gokudera is beaming and approaching, standing on his toes and trying to give it to her.
no subject
"Oh, that is very kind of you, but I am afraid that shan't fix my problem with the ladder." Was she going to have to make a leap for the trees and climb down.
She would not risk reaching down to the stick should it set her off-balance. Instead, she turned to her giant eagle-owl who spread out his wings and took silently off the roof to grab the stick in question.
I am sorry this is the dumbest and most fun thing I've ever typed wow
He looks up at her, pouting slightly, then turns to run off and grab... a new stick.
This one he grins and drops. It's bigger. Oh wait, she can't reach it and he can't lift it up high enough. He offers it up to her with renewed vigor, stepping up onto his toes and giving a small sad whine. Damn... How'd she get up there?!
He looks around and sees the ladder. Oh yeah, those can be climbed, but how is he supposed to move it when he doesn't even think he has thumbs?! Gokudera huffs, drops the stick, then pushes his sleeves up before walking up to it and chewing at his lip. He taps his foot, tilts his head, then kicks it. It's light, but sturdy. Gokudera steps over it, putting a foot between the rungs. Wait no... that's not how it works.
He needs some encouragement, then looks around for anyone else using ladders. Gokudera huffs and then nudges it with his foot, walks around it, and then prods it with a finger. Hm, maybe it he scoops it up?
Thank goodness he decides to slide his hands under one side and lift, because then he's... kind of figuring out how his hands work. Sticking his arms out straight in front of him, he lifts them and the ladder! Yay!
He turns and drops it, but it lands with a clatter against the roof just like he could have easily figured out were he not operating under the effects of his curse. Gokudera promptly climbs the ladder and sits down the roof by her, then stares at the stick.
Please throw it. Or not, but he definitely wants that and doesn't know how to communicate it.
Aurora has animal power, would that help in this at all?
Either way, she suddenly now had company on the roof. She pressed her hands to her mouth as she looked at the young man in question.
"Oh ah- thank you, for joining me, and for setting the ladder upright."
The eagle owl landed next to her, the stick in his talons and she took it from him.
"You were very kind in giving me not one but two sticks, and for the ladder," she assured him. "Would you be amiable to the idea of going back down it?"
Oh I'm not complaining! I think he'd have to actually be a dog for it to work though XD
"Bark!" He says happily, as though telling her she's welcome. Gokudera is happy to help. At least when he's like this. Maybe not quite so much when he's normal.
He stares on at that stick and watches as she takes it, slouching forward a bit suddenly as if holding himself from lunging to grab it from her hand.
At the mention of the ladder again, he just blinks at her. He knows kind of what she's talking about but he wouldn't dream of taking his eyes off the sticks in her hand.
no subject
"You're being a very good boy," she soothed. This had to be one of the strangest experiences of her life... and she had lived with three faeries in the woods. But as she did not wish to throw a stick on a ROOF and cause either of them to slip and fall, while she noticed the movement at the stick, they would have to wait to be on more solid ground.
She stood up, putting the stick in hand.
"Come here, dear. We'll play on the ground," she offered. She had played with wolves before, she supposed it was the same principle.
no subject
And realizes he has no idea how to get down. Gokudera whines pathetically at it, then lowers himself and looks down over the edge of the roof. It's not that high up... is it? He got up here okay... so he can get down okay, right?
Nothing has ever trained him for going down a ladder facing the wrong direction.
no subject
"Oh now, shh, it's alright." She gently rubbed his back.
"We cannot go together, but I can climb down some ways and then help you, alright?"
