Back to Basics
🧙 WHO: Din and whoever wants to join him
⚔️️ WHAT: Quests and the like
🕒 WHEN: Throughout August
🗺️ WHERE: In town mostly
⚠️ WARNINGS: Violence, fighting, will update as necessary
A - Animal Mage Hunt
[Din would hardly count himself an active defender of the downtrodden. He's had his moments, certainly, but his career often puts him in a place where that's not what he's paid to do. And maybe, once upon a time, he would have taken a job like this on. Wouldn't change the fact that it just seems inefficient, unnecessary. Lazy, for lack of a better term.
So when he comes across a group accosting a potential animal mage, he sighs, figuring he might as well do something about it.]
You really looking to waste time like this?
[He says, pointing his blaster into the leader's back. There's a small group of them but well, he likes the odds. He calls to the person being held up.]
You okay?
B - Invasive Species
[It was, in retrospect, not the most well thought out plan he's ever had.
Really, he should have expected the exoskeleton, though most of his focus had been on the stinger, and the claws. But it's exceedingly clear that his conventional weapons are not going to be as effective.
He sits up, checking himself over. Nothing's broken and once again, the beskar has held up. He's grateful for that. He takes a breath.]
Okay, plan B.
C - Crystal Mushrooms
[Now this is familiar territory. A dingy bar, rough looking customers, Din standing out because of his armour. He knows how this one plays. Certainly, he doesn't expect anyone to recognize him as a Mandalorian here but hopefully it's just as intimidating. He goes up to the bar, leaning on it and ignoring the looks he's getting. Once he has the barkeep's attention, he asks]
I'm looking for Wicked Wendy. Heard this was a hang out of her's.

Its spindly little legs scuttled in the open air like a turtle on its back.]
Got it!
[The second was a little trickier and didn't fall for her flank-maneuver. So instead, in a split second, she created a shadow with her dark magic and tossed one of her swords up for the shadow to catch. In that same instant, she planted her hand on the beast's head, using it as a springboard to flip up, over and behind it. The shadow tossed the blade back and she repeated her previous tactic. Really, it wasn't a tactic at all. She was flying by the seat of her... panties? She wasn't exactly wearing pants.]

Kainé notes the shots, figuring they're some kind of magic and flips away. She allows him to do his thing now, which is interesting because whatever magic he uses is similar to her old Shade magic. Something akin to lightning magic.]
Let's fuck 'em up good!
[That's her way of encouraging them to finish the beasts off. And it doesn't take long before they are nothing but a couple of smoking corpses between the two of them. She crosses her arms and nods to her companion.]
Not bad.

[He nods at the swords, before doing a quick scan of the area to make sure there aren't any more monsters in the vicinity.]
Again, I appreciate the help.
no subject
This place sure is something different.]
Thanks, and... no problem.
[For now, no other predators are nearby and they have a moment to breathe. Kainé puts her weapons back on her back and crosses her arms.]
I'm Kainé, and this is... [She motions to her familiar, what appears to be a thick text floating behind her. The familiar cuts her off before she can introduce them. To be fair, she would have just said 'book' or some other smart-ass comment.]
The great Kai-Hakase, a renowned tsukumogami sent here to teach this savage woman some manners! Hmph, at least she finally decided to awknoledge my presence.
That's magic, not manners, book. [Din can see and hear the familiar as if they were a normal person standing behind Kainé.
Meanwhile, Kainé tilts her head and looks at the man in armor, studying him a little more now they're not in the heat of battle.]
Speaking of magic, what kind was that? With that thing you held in your hand?
no subject
He's confused for a moment, trying to determine what she means before catching on that it's his rifle.]
It's not magic, just my gun. I don't typically use magic.
But it has an electro-shock attached to it. That's probably what you saw.

[She seems intrigued. It was a strange instrument she hadn't seen anything like before. She puts a hand on her hip, realizing he didn't tell her who he was in return.]
You got a name?
no subject
[Though he's reluctant to let it go. It is dangerous in the wrong hands.]
Mando.
no subject
C'mon, there's gotta be more of the little bastards!
[As if they were waiting for their cue, another pair of scorpions approach the pair from behind scuttling towards them at full speed. Kainé rolls out of the way, coming up on one knee blades once again in hand.]
Now that's what I'm fucking talking about! [She looks back to Mando.] Let's fuck 'em up good!
no subject
He holds up his rifle, ready to shoot.]
Same strategy as before?
[Granted he's running low on shots.]
no subject
Well, she's got other things to concentrate on now. Like the scorpions coming towards them.]
Yeah, same as last time.
[And that's exactly what she does in similar fashion as before. Of course there are some variations, accounting for different angles and offense., but she manages to flip them both in less time than the first couple.]
no subject
With the creatures on their backs, Din moves in to take of them. A combination of shooting them, shocking them, and maybe roasting one with his flamethrower. Just to see if he could.]
want to wrap this up? Unless you got some other ideas? Sorry it's a smol thread.
Wanna split the reward money?
Sure, and no worries. I'd be down for throwing them together again sometime
[After the help? He's definitely not going to keep it for himself.]
The help was appreciated. You've got a good style.
End on your next one then.
Just uh, what's it called, transfer the money over the device. [she waves a hand and turns to leave. After a few steps she looks over her shoulder.]
Well, 'guess I'll see ya around. Take care, ok?
no subject
You to.
[He returns the wave, doing a scan to make sure there's no further clean up, before heading off to turn in the job.]
