(a. at the senshi (and friends!) house)

[ Minako's arrival hadn't exactly been.. pleasant. Somewhere between everything being so chaotic back home right before she showed up here instead, then suddenly being dropped into the water out of nowhere, and then getting covered in gross jelly stuff didn't exactly make it the most fun course of events.

But at least Makoto helped her over to the house, and now Minako has been able to bathe and get all that junk out of her hair, things are starting to look up a little more. Or at least, Minako thinks she looks presentable enough to be seen by others.

Which means she starts wandering the house, peeking her head into all the rooms so she can greet people with a: ]

Hi! [ You know, casual. Just showed up here. No biggie. ]

(b. on the streets of camelot)

[ If you just happen to be calmly walking along the city streets, your moment of relative peace and quiet gets interrupted really, really quickly.

Because you might suddenly feel something jumping on you. It happens so fast that you can't even see what it is, other than that there's a sudden pressure on your head, like something is clinging on for dear life up there. If you try to remove it - which is possible if you put some effort into it - you'll find it's a cat. A kind of.. odd-looking cat, since it's a little too big for your usual cat, but it's still definitely a cat.

Or even if you don't manage to remove it, there's suddenly a blonde girl outright charging at you, yelling out-- ]

Wait!

[ What do you do. Do you run. Do you stay. Do you ponder why your life suddenly turned out like this? ]

(c. outside a bakery)

[ After having managed to recover her familiar, Minako is making sure to tightly hold it to her chest, not wantin to start an entire chase scene all over again.

Which means things are a little bit calmer right now. Instead you might find the blonde girl standing outside a bakery, staring at the delicious goods inside, looking like she's about to drool right over them. ]

Ahh, it looks so good, right? [ She squeezes the cat-like creature a little. ] Maybe you were just hungry too.. Rough is the fate of those who don't have money.. [ Please, Minako. You literally have a house full of friends you're staying with. Cut down on the melodramatics.

Still, her stomach growls. Loudly. That chase must have taken some energy. Do you help out this poor blonde girl. ]

(d. on the streets of camelot, less chaos edition)

[ Or maybe you, very simply, just find the girl walking up to you on the middle of the streets. Do you know her? Probably not! And yet she talks to you so casually, as if you're not total strangers. Welcome to the power of an extreme extrovert. ]

Hey! Sooo.. if someone wanted to practice these new powers everyone's talking about, where do they do that? Won't you help a cute girl out?

[ Look at her batting those doe eyes at you! You're locked into this fate now. It's inescapable. ]

(ooc: as a note for those who have threaded with me on the tdm, i am more than willing to carry those over as in-game canon, so feel free to assume those interactions happened! c: )

[He has almost forgotten about the cat when it spoke up again. And of course it had another demand on top of that! Drake gulps.]

Um, yeah, sure? Is... it okay for cats to have this stuff? [He questions as he approaches the first baked goods seller he finds.] Maybe you could even share one!

[He's just, just putting that out there.]

[ That's said at the very same time, mind you. Almost as if Minako and her familiar are in absolutely perfect sync when it comes to this important matter. ]

[flapsin]

[Oh god they're in stereo! Drake quickly waves his hands as he tries to appease them.]

Okay! Okay, I got it. One for each of you! If- if you insist! [He says as he steps into the place. Sigh... time to place the order.]

[ Drake truly is getting the full 'trying to take care of a minivan full of demanding kids' experience. Except in this case said demanding kids are actually one demanding teenager and a demanding familiar.

At least they do seem easily appeased, since the two of them just smile once they're reassured that they will have their own sweets. ]

Thanks! You're one of the first people I'm meeting here, but you seem pretty nice!

[flapsin]

[It really do be like that. At least it seems like this will be enough to appease them. And now the kid is very friendly!]

Heh, thanks. I try to be? I'm Drake Mallard, by the way.

My name is Minako! Minako Aino!

[ There's no polite bow - sorry, Drake - but at least Minako does wink. And she makes a V-sign with her hands, which is probably Minako's version of a polite bow.. Or as close as she gets to one, anyway. ]

I guess there's not only humans and familiars in this place, huh? [ You know, she may be addressing the whole 'talking and walking duck' thing now. ]

[flapsin]

Nice to meet you too, Minako!

[He gives a meek wave and a two-fingered V-sign in turn! And he chuckles as the oh-so-so familar topic comes up.]

Yuppp. There's a good few of us non- human folk around. Believe it or not, there's not even such a thing as humans where I come from!

[reloves]

[ It is a slightly wild concept. Sure, Minako has met aliens and the like before - but even most of said aliens looked really human! So the idea of a duck world with only ducks around.. It's not impossible to wrap her mind around, but still. It's definitely wild. ]

So it must have been so weird then to find yourself here! I mean, it seems there are some duck people around, but it seems like most people here tend to look more like me!

[flapsin]

[Life can get pretty wild in his own world. It could even be considered to be hurricane-like in nature!]

Oh, you bet it's been weird! [He chuckles.] I've only seen two other ducks here who are both from the same place as me, plus one other bird. So yeah! No offense, but... all these humans everywhere really takes some getting used to!

[As he speaks, he places his order for the two shortcakes. ...And a blueberry muffin for himself.]

[reloves]

Well, I'm sure it helps when they're humans as beautiful as me, right?

[ .. she might not be realising that this guy has absolutely no idea what's supposed to be beautiful and what isn't when it comes to humans.

But she's flipping her hair anyway, almost like it's some sort of demonstration. ]

Just walking the streets here, I could already tell there's a lot of handsome people in this city!

[flapsin]

You... are a cute kid! [He supposes, as far as humans go. He still can't help finding these fleshy beings' appearances to be unsettling, but as he gets more used to them, he supposes he can see some of them as being relatively nice-looking.

Drake casually ducks out of the range of her hair flip.]

I'm not sure if a lot of people's looks necessarily stand out to me, but, uh, yeah! Plenty of people seem... nice!

[reloves]

[ ...

Minako suddenly drops. Gone are the dramatics. Gone is the energetic movement. Instead she just stares at him, suddenly seeming dead serious. ]

Are you trying to tell me you don't have someone special in your life?

[flapsin]

[Confused blinks. And he rubs at his head sheepishly.]

Yeah? Can't... Can't say that I do! [He says with a little laugh. It's not exactly something he's prioritized.]

...Are you okay?

[Just when he thought he was getting used to this kid, she shows a new kind of eccentricity!]

[reloves]

[ Welcome to what dealing with Minako is just like, Drake. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Especially since it's not letting up. ]

Of course I'm not okay!

[ .. apparently. ]

I can't believe you don't have love in your life! That's.. [ She sniffs. ] That's so sad..!

[flapsin]

[He would like to cancels his reservation please...

Frantic hand motions.]

Whoa, whoa, easy there! It's not the end of the world. I've got plenty of love in my life! Just... not specifically the romantic kind.

[reloves]

B-But..! You're already so old!

[ Look at this blow she's dealing here.

At least she doesn't mean it in any malicious way.. This is just how Minako is. Or rather, how most teenagers are, let's be real. ]

What if you die, never having known love?!

[flapsin]

[A brutal, devastating blow! Drake winces.]

H-hey now, I'm not that old. I'm only 32. I've still got plenty of time to find someone!

S-so, y'know, you really don't have to worry this much about me! ...Or at all!

[reloves]

Already 32 and about to die alone!

[ Don't mind her as she starts dramatically sniffling over here.

At least the cat seems to be making a little bit more sense here. He speaks up, a whole lot more calmly, and says: ]

She's just like that.

[flapsin]

[He raises a finger, preparing to make am objection, but he just slumps his shoulders and gives a defeated sigh. Then he gives the familiar a look of commiseration when he says his piece about it.]

No kidding...

[At that time, the shortcakes are prepared. So he just wearily holds them out to Minako and the cat, feeling like this conversation has just doubled his age.]

Look. Just... Just eat your shortcakes.

[reloves]

[ You know what the benefit is of giving Minako a shortcake, Drake?

At least it gets her to shut up. The cat sure starts happily eating the shortcake (though it.. weirdly enough eats it while holding it with its front paws, almost kind of like a human..) and Minako starts eating too - which means the girl's mouth is definitely way too full to make any more dramatic remarks.

Enjoy a blessed, blessed moment of silence.

Aside from the double chewing going on here, anyway. ]

[flapsin]

[It's an incredible blissful relief. Now he feels like he truly understands what people means when people say silence os golden! ...Well, aside from the loud chewing. At least now he has his muffin to nibble on! And he'll just... try to use this opportunity to slip away.]

There, that settles that! I should really get going now... It's really been nice to meet you, Minako! And your little friend! [A nervous chuckle.]

[reloves]

Okay!

[ Half-mumbled.

Since, you know, her mouth is full.

But at the very least she doesn't seem to mind the fact that he's leaving in the slightest. She just smiles at him after she swallows her current bite. ]

[ See you next time she can get some sweets out of you, Drake. ]

[With that, before he can get pounced on about his love life or any other accidental animal objections, he waves farewell and heads off, with half his muffin planted in his mouth! She's a nice kid and all. Just also... A Lot.]
