(a. at the senshi (and friends!) house)

[ Minako's arrival hadn't exactly been.. pleasant. Somewhere between everything being so chaotic back home right before she showed up here instead, then suddenly being dropped into the water out of nowhere, and then getting covered in gross jelly stuff didn't exactly make it the most fun course of events.

But at least Makoto helped her over to the house, and now Minako has been able to bathe and get all that junk out of her hair, things are starting to look up a little more. Or at least, Minako thinks she looks presentable enough to be seen by others.

Which means she starts wandering the house, peeking her head into all the rooms so she can greet people with a: ]

Hi! [ You know, casual. Just showed up here. No biggie. ]

(b. on the streets of camelot)

[ If you just happen to be calmly walking along the city streets, your moment of relative peace and quiet gets interrupted really, really quickly.

Because you might suddenly feel something jumping on you. It happens so fast that you can't even see what it is, other than that there's a sudden pressure on your head, like something is clinging on for dear life up there. If you try to remove it - which is possible if you put some effort into it - you'll find it's a cat. A kind of.. odd-looking cat, since it's a little too big for your usual cat, but it's still definitely a cat.

Or even if you don't manage to remove it, there's suddenly a blonde girl outright charging at you, yelling out-- ]

Wait!

[ What do you do. Do you run. Do you stay. Do you ponder why your life suddenly turned out like this? ]

(c. outside a bakery)

[ After having managed to recover her familiar, Minako is making sure to tightly hold it to her chest, not wantin to start an entire chase scene all over again.

Which means things are a little bit calmer right now. Instead you might find the blonde girl standing outside a bakery, staring at the delicious goods inside, looking like she's about to drool right over them. ]

Ahh, it looks so good, right? [ She squeezes the cat-like creature a little. ] Maybe you were just hungry too.. Rough is the fate of those who don't have money.. [ Please, Minako. You literally have a house full of friends you're staying with. Cut down on the melodramatics.

Still, her stomach growls. Loudly. That chase must have taken some energy. Do you help out this poor blonde girl. ]

(d. on the streets of camelot, less chaos edition)

[ Or maybe you, very simply, just find the girl walking up to you on the middle of the streets. Do you know her? Probably not! And yet she talks to you so casually, as if you're not total strangers. Welcome to the power of an extreme extrovert. ]

Hey! Sooo.. if someone wanted to practice these new powers everyone's talking about, where do they do that? Won't you help a cute girl out?

[ Look at her batting those doe eyes at you! You're locked into this fate now. It's inescapable. ]

(ooc: as a note for those who have threaded with me on the tdm, i am more than willing to carry those over as in-game canon, so feel free to assume those interactions happened! c: )

Basically, I can talk to and understand animals and transform into them as well. I could also try and ask favors from animals, but I'm still working on that skill.

But it's exactly the sort of thought that's going through Minako's head here. ]

Oh, so you're like a princess, straight out of a fairytale!

[ What a thing to just tell a guy out of the blue. Minako smiles so happily as she says it too, like this is just a totally normal thing to say. ]

[Jean looks both confused and flustered at what she says.]

Excuse me? I'm nothing like a princess! I couldn't be further away from a princess!

[Someone hasn't read many fairy tales, admittedly.]

But you communicate with cute animals!

[ The true irony here? Minako technically being a princess, yet throwing this all onto him instead.

Not to mention they can help you out too! Tell me, do you ever sing to them too?

Wha- No...?? I don't sing.

[ Jean just ran into the worst possible person to run into when it comes to having no mercy. And giving no explanations. Minako is just full on steam waltzing over him with the biggest smile possible on her face. ]

Aw, come on, have you never read a single fairytale in your life? The princesses in there always have cute little animal friends to help them out! [ She points at him. ] Just like you do.

Those things don't exist where I'm from and I haven't read them while I've been here either.

[He's basically stuck in a fantasy story anyway.]

You've never read a single fairytale in your life?

[ Granted, people in Jean's world kind of had other priorities to begin with.. But it's not like Minako has even the faintest clue about that, so it just comes across as odd to her.

And maybe a little sad. Fairytales are fun! ]

Not even one?

Real life has been enough to deal with, I don't need fictional stories to engage in.

[Why does he sound like an old army veteran when he says that, who knows.]

[ Jean does look way too young for that sort of thing. That much is true. And Minako knows very well that age can deceive when it comes to that sort of thing, but she likes to think her own world is the exception rather than the rule.

So she just hums as she takes in what he's saying, apparently entirely unbothered by the grumpy attitude when she speaks up again. ]

Aren't they actually nice to have though? If you're just dealing with rough stuff over and over in real life without having anything fun to indulge in, it's no good!

[Jean thinks about the idea for a while. Armin did read a lot and seemed to fair pretty well whenever he did.

Not that they were really fictional fairytales, more stories of their world they hadn't explored yet.]

Where I'm from you had to focus on the reality to survive, most of the time. If you started daydreaming it could lead to serious consequences. But now that I'm here... I guess I could try reading a little bit.

See, that's the spirit!

[ Minako may not be addressing the other part he says - about the reality of his world. But that's very much purposeful. Why should they think about sad things while they're here?

.. okay, maybe Minako will think about some sad things regardless, but she'd like to hope for better than that for other people. ]

They're pretty fun, you know. And they're short, so you don't get all bored trying to read them!

Hey, what's so wrong with having preferences? I'm pretty sure those same people would hate to sing in front of other people, and that's what I love doing!
