[Open] Let's go (back) to the beach!
π§ WHO: Everyone invited by this network post
βοΈοΈ WHAT: Throwing Colette a birthday party!
π WHEN: June 19th
πΊοΈ WHERE: Beach near Camelot City
β οΈ WARNINGS: It's Colette's Birthday. No getting out of hand, but warnings will be added if they must.
Sunny, clear, bright with calm, but visible waves, all those perfect conditions for a day at the beach.
... Really, he'd been checking to make sure. Meanwhile, he had to trust nothing would happen since Camelot was still right there. Just one day, one day of things staying normal with no interruptions was all he was asking.
Anyway, rental grill and table? Check.
Beach umbrellas? Check.
Extra towels? Check.
Beach balls, floating rings, basically things that said 'beach fun'? Check, check, aannd check!
While Zidane had the bowls, water, and toys for the dogs, Eustace was supplying what they ate (which was for the best), and he's making sure to keep them away from the disposable plates and cold foods so no mistakes were made. If anyone wanted alcohol? Well, that wasn't available - Zidane's only packed water, juice, and some assorted carbonated beverages for those that wanted it. BYOB if one really needs it - heck, he has some pizza on order later for people who'd rather that than the fruits, vegetables, or meat he's cooking up.
All-in-all, should be enough for people to chill out, have fun, and save room for the ice cream cake once it was time to sing 'Happy Birthday'!
[OOC: Dog beach birthday party fun! Heads up, I'll try tagging everyone that top-levels with Zidane since he's hosting so if you don't want a tag, just tell me. Also, have any specific questions? Also hit me up at
demidemonLove. Just final note: blue decorations, and plants present courtesy of Aerith!]

You're welcome! I wasn't quite sure what to get you but I hope that's alright.
[Inside the wrapping is a nearly crafted hard cover journal. It's a light blue colour that almost shines with a twinge of holographic colour.]

[It's from a friend after all. And Colette hasn't exactly had a lot of presents to compare it to. So. Really, all of this is more than enough in them just showing up. She asks if she should open the gift now, or whether she should wait to later.]
no subject
You can open it if you want to, Colette-san!
no subject
[She does, and her eyes widen when she uncovers the gift, glancing between it and Izuku. It isn't like she hadn't had people make her gifts before. Genis with his baking and Lloyd with the pendants. But. This was still pretty special for her. Given she didn't get a lot of gifts regardless, let alone ones people took such time to make themselves.]
Ah, this is -- those rocks we found? You used your magic to make this?
no subject
I did...! I thought it would be nice for you to use. I don't think it has any magical properties but it looks nice.
[Izuku smiles sheepishly!]
no subject
[Maybe she could use it for school? Or just somewhere to write down things as she goes through her time here. Either way she is sure it will come in useful. Colette just isn't so used to getting gifts like most others might with their birthdays. She clutches the book to her chest, smiling after admiring it. That he took the time to make this with his new magic here really did make it special.]
no subject
I'm glad you like it, Colette-san! I hope you have a great birthday.
[Everything looks like it's going well so far!]
no subject
[Having all her friends around and all. Celebrating her. Not that they were a year closer to her leaving on her Journey. But that Colette herself had a birthday. Being treated the same as if anyone else had one. It's such a novelty for her. Such a concept. Turning seventeen in and of itself is enough to throw her for a loop but at least this is distracting her from worrying too much about the future more immediately. Now she knows she has one to plan for.]
no subject
[It must be pretty crazy to have a birthday like this. But they're meant to make the birthday girl special. And he hopes it's working.]
Do you have any other birthday wishes?
no subject
[She gives a shrug, trying to shake that sadness in missing the others. That Lloyd isn't here too. But they were all trying so hard for her in making this a great birthday. Even if one she didn't anticipate getting to celebrate. This was supposed to be fun. A great time for her that they all put in such effort for her. She tries for a small smile in spite of wishing Lloyd were here too.]
no subject
I'm sure if they were, they'd be happy to give you birthday wishes too, Colette-san. You'll be able to celebrate with them someday soon too.
[Maybe if they arrive here or when she goes home.]
no subject
[Sure. Most anyone else might take that for granted. Having another birthday, especially given her age. But at the same time. It's taking a lot of adjusting. On Colette's end, at least, to learn to consider the future now. Now she knows she has one. Which is wild to consider. Eighteen for her next birthday and all.]
no subject
He nods!]
It's a great day for all of this too. Zidane-san even got all this beach gear. Volleyball too.
no subject
Volleyball?
[Sports in general probably aren't obviously Colette's forte given how clumsy she is at the best of times let alone running around playing some game chasing after a ball. But still, there were some things that they didn't have back home or that she simply hadn't heard of if so because of how sheltered and oblivious she was.]
no subject
[Izuku points at the netting.]
It's a sport where players knock a ball over the net to the other team. If the ball hits the floor the opposing team gets a point. It's a lot of fun.
no subject
[So it's probably obvious in why nobody would want her playing. Getting herself hurt more than she already does with tripping over her own feet. Colette's hardly the most coordinated. That and everyone in Iselia was incredibly protective of her in her role as the Chosen. Lloyd fretted all the most about her getting hurt when he realized she didn't even feel it if she did fall over, at one point later into the Journey.]
no subject
Do you want to try? A game of one on one?
[No time like the present to try something new!]
no subject
[Still. It was good to try new things? She's just well aware in the process of jumping to hit the ball or such that she might trip. Is the only thing. But Colette is trying to use this place, being here as like another chance. To do things she didn't get to back home. She figures the basic idea seems simple enough, to try hit the ball over the net at least.]
no subject
[No harm with tossing a ball back and forth over the net, right? Don't worry he doesn't plan to Detriot Smash the ball or anything like that.]
no subject
[She probably won't be the best at it and will undoubtedly figure tripping over in her attempts to hit the ball at some point because it is Colette. But it's just sand. So it probably won't actually hurt. And she's used to it anyway. The idea seems simple enough that she is willing to try anyway. Just a simple practice thing with the two of them to see how it works.]
no subject
[On the other hand it's been a while since Izuku has played a whole lot of sports. He did play some with his classmates at the beach a few weeks back. It's fun to just get into it, win or lose. It's not about that, it's about having some fun.
He moves to the netting where he picks up the volleyball and gives it a toss upwards before catching.]
I'll serve the ball to your side now, Colette-san! Just do your best to return it!
no subject
[She assumes he means he will hit the ball to her, from the context. Even if she isn't aware it's called a serve when you start off. She watches the ball, her smile switching to an expression of determined concentration. She shifts to meet with the ball at to try hit it back to him, somehow at least initially this time not tripping over her own two feet in the process.
It. May or may not smack into the net or go over it. But she tried! And didn't trip!]
no subject
Nice, keep trying, Colette-san!
[And he'll encourage her again as he tosses the ball back over the net!]
no subject
[She looks and sounds so pleased and proud of herself while also being a little surprised she somehow pulled it off. Probably why when she steps forward to hit the ball again she miscalculates in her position, leading the ball to knock her on the head and making her laugh. It was really rather just typical. That she would end up like that if not tripping over. But she doesn't seem hurt from it.]
no subject
[Well, at least she's laughing about it! The ball rolls away and Izuku comes up to the netting with a chuckle too.]
All you need to do is work on your aim a bit, Colette-san. But that wasn't too bad.
[And as long as she doesn't always use her head to knock the ball around!]
