[For many Mondstadtans, experiencing such hot weather was a true rarity, the region almost eternally blessed with fair temperatures year round. On the occasion they couldn't beat the heat, there was only one solution to the problem.

BEACH VACATION!

Rounding up their friends from Liyue as well (Childe can come too I guess), it was time for the Teyvatans to enjoy a day on the beach. There was food and drinks, watermelons to smash, plenty of water guns and beachballs and a host of other beach toys to play with, and of course, plenty of water.

[ He likes the water a lot. He likes it more for fishing than anything else, and doesn't go swimming recreationally very often. He's taken to a game he's started with himself, where he tosses a beach ball out into the water, and swims out to... fetch it. You can stop him here and join him on his swimming around and playing with the balls in the water.

This game will go on for a short while before eventually he'll approach someone because he wants to play catch. He offers the ball and says: ]

[ He doesn't get to play with people like this very often. ]

[ Razor loves food. He likes most things that are available to eat, too. Fish, meats, potatoes, some vegetables are fine. He'll immediately pass over anything that is green. There's one point where he has about four skewers with meat on them and he just plops down on the sand, happily chomping one bite out of each one at a time. ]

[ He nods. ]

[ Some people are just standing around in the water itself, you know. Minding their own business. Trying to adjust to having people around and them being loud and playful. You know... Awkward socialization!

When a ball hits him in the back of the head. ]

[ He looks around, picking up the ball and holding it in confusion. Where did... This come from? ]

[ He hesitates for a moment, pausing before approaching and then -- ]

Oh. Sorry!

[ He slows his pace and he makes an approach to retrieve his bal. Because he does want to play with it, but he doesn't want to accidentally pelt people with it. He extends his arms to accept the ball, expecting that it will mostly be handed directly to him. ]

[ He looks at Razor. Then the ball. Xiao sighs. ]

Please be more careful. I'm not fond of being smacked by circular objects.

[ But he'll hand the ball back to Razor. ]

Ball. For playing.

[ He emphasizes it carefully before accepting the ball into his hands. ]

Not smacked. Accident.

[ Which still is getting hit with it, but he wants the guy to know it wasn't like he did it on purpose. ]

Never on purpose.

Given the fact you show consideration for not just those around you, but for nature as well? I would not think that you would have done it on purpose.

[ So no. He doesn't think ill of you or anything like that Razor. You're good. ]

[ He looks momentarily bashful. ]

[ He pulls the ball in close. ]

Will be more careful. Even accident, can hurt.

[ Even an accident can hurt. Wow. This one is really a well intentioned person. ]

[ He bends down slightly then, up in the air the ball goes. ]

[ Is he content playing like this on his own? For the most part - it seems like yes, he is. And he runs, watching as the ball comes towards the ground for him to catch it himself. ]

[ He says it as the ball lands safely in his arms, hugging it to his chest. ]

Hm, I have to agree! The food is delicious!

[Hello, it's Venti coming along to plop himself down right next to Razor who might be snacking. But instead of any food with Venti for eating... He's only drinking something out of a hollowed-out coconut...? How is that food?]

You might want to slow down though, dear Razor. Too much brown meat and you might turn brown yourself.

[ He looks at Venti's "food" which obviously isn't food. He opts against questioning him because if that's what he wants to enjoy for free, then he's not going to complain about it. After all, there's a lot here. ]

[ Which is fairly obvious. ]

Eheh, I'm not surprised. You really should try a fruit or vegetable or two as well. As they say! They'll keep the healer away!

[Look, he cares? Well mostly because Venti isn't that big a fan of meat things himself but still!]

Like fruit. And...potato.

[ This is really the best Venti could possibly hope for when it comes to Razor. It's not that he hates all vegetables, but it's harder to find ones he likes. But fruit, fruit is sweet and it's a treat to him to eat berries or applies when he's out. ]

Don't need healers!

[ As if that is some sort of proof. ]

[He does sigh slightly but the poor boy does have a point. He does seem as strong as a truck.]

Alright, you might not need any healers. That so much is true. But surely, you wouldn't like something refreshing cucumbers or celery?

[ Razor looks at Venti like he has grown an additional head simply for making the suggestion that he eats something green like that. His facial expression says it better than he possibly could, but he does protest immediately: ]

No. Razor not a rabbit. Eats rabbits.

[ And there you have it. ]

While I might enjoy a bit of rabbit now and then... I heard that if you don't eat your fair share of green vegetables and fruits that you might lose all your strength and turn into a withered-away piece of jerky, Razor. Meat will give you strength but greens will give you glow and colour.

[Do you want to turn into a piece of dried-out jerky, Razor??]

[ He doesn't believe that's true, necessarily, but he also doesn't understand enough to understand fully why it isn't. He just knows from personal experience and his lack of eating greens hasn't hurt him. ]

[ His eyes light up and he nods. Catch sounds fun, and playing with Bennett? even better. He starts to run so he can try and catch Bennett's throw. ]

Yes, sounds good! Fun!

Alright. Go long, buddy, I'm gonna send it flying!

[He takes a couple steps back and hoists the ball over his head, waiting for Razor to take position first.]

Okay!

[ Razor immediately takes off through the sand because of course he does. He loves this game. He's making sure that he's gone a little ways before Bennett will toss it because he's excited to play this game with his friend. He's never gotten to play catch with someone. ]

[Bennett throws the ball in Razor's direction, and his aim is true, the ball sailing right his way!

...Unfortunately, Bennett's bad luck is also true, as the ocean breeze suddenly picks up and blows that ball off course and sends it in a different direction.]

[ He watches as the ball catches the air and then starts to go... not at him after a moment. Which was not where Bennett had tossed it he had thought. Still, Razor picks up his feet and starts running towards the ball, trying to gauge where it is going to land, even if he misses it, which...he inevitably does. Just on the edge of the water.

He picks up his feet so he can scoop it up, just before the tide comes in and it can be swept away. ]

Woah --

[ He says it without thinking. ]

[Bennett watches the events that unfold, the ball getting caught in the wind, landing in the water. And all he can do is hang his head.]

...Aww man. I should've known my bad luck would get in the way.

[ He rushes into the water and scoops it up, bringing the ball to his chest. He smiles back towards Bennett. ]
