A -The Power of Imagination is Best Between Two People
[It was strange. Kotarou technically didn't need to go to school anymore. It was one thing to teach on the basics of using magic, but whenever you had a rare element. Classes were even more difficult. The good news was that the Academy here accepted people of all ages and races. But the issue was that they moved pretty slow. He felt that he was getting a little more mileage on what he was learning on his own.
Classes here move slow as molasses... I'm at that age where I can consider this a community college, I guess. But a club might be able to liven things up a bit. There was already someone who was interested in starting up a club of sorts, so Kotarou wanted to follow through with it. There was a bit of cynicism in his heart in wondering if this would even get any attention. But he worked his ass off about it before, so why not keep things going? He had to stay motivated or he'd be dead in the water again. On the bulletin board at school, there's going to be a colorful flyer posted up there. There's some seriousness mixed in with a little humor.]

[He hoped that it would give people a few laughs at least! And he had a few spare flyers on him, so he decides to head down into the city's bulletin board to place some down there. If you decide to contact Kotarou in person or just end up bumping into him, you'll find him in a few places:
A. Cafe: You'll find him reading a book with a side of coffee and a croissant. For once, he's looking mature and refined!
B. School: He'll be examining one of the empty rooms. He's currently coughing up a storm since it's covered in dust and cobwebs.
C. Park: And here, Kotarou will be yelling at his Leaf Bird familiar who happened to dump one of the flyers into the trash. He doesn't hesitate to go digging through the trash can.]
B - The Training Won't Stop, Can't Stop, (Might Stop)
[The training grounds had a rather enthusiastic Light User running amok tonight! If one was watching Kotarou for a while, they would've noticed that he had created a light pole to strike at targets varying between moving and staying still. But the light pole was far from perfect as it would break within a few strikes and he'd have to form it again. Admittedly, it was rather tiring for him... Forming it in his mind was easy, but keeping it together was harder. If one were to just arrive at the training grounds, they'll notice some glowing fragments of light sprinkled onto the ground. It was as if the remains of a weapon was forged and broken.
Sitting down, Kotarou takes out a small notebook from his pocket and starts to write little notes. If he wanted to get by in this world, then he couldn't take things half-assedly like he used to. Plus this could help him get inspired for new ideas if he wanted to get more creative with Light Magic. If he met more Light users like him, then maybe he could try teach them a thing or two! 'Strength in numbers' as the saying goes. So far, he's learned how to harden... But projecting was still a problem! A certain Astrologist goes through his mind... While she rubbed him the wrong way, Kotarou thought back to their conversation and had to ponder something out loud.]
Light magic is said to be rare, right? But why do we have two different specialties? Could it be because she's constantly thinking about the stars and I'm not 'enlightened' or whatever? Am I just a weirdo who can't get a simple thing correct? Maybe it's because I'm more of a 'Power' type... Still, I wonder if everyone else has small differences like that regardless of what kind of magic they're studying.
[He still had so many questions... So much to research on his own. He did advise another Light user to use their emotions for projection, so maybe he should try his own theory. His bird familiar flies over to drop a towel unceremoniously on his head before Kotarou starts to wipe the sweat from his brow. ]
Uh... Thank you, Emerald. You're nice to have around whenever you're not poking me. [...] I know I'm an idiot, but I'll get stronger and smarter for your sake too.
[If nothing else, he'd become a better and more capable Master for his familiar. The last thing that he wanted to be was dead weight. It was much harder to change himself when he couldn't rewrite anymore.]
C - Wildcard

A-B
Still, his curiosity was getting the better of him as he looked around for this mysterious meeting room he was suppose to go to. Once there, he raised an eyebrow.]
Are you okay, uh...Tennouji-san? [That is the person he was suppose to meet, right?]
no subject
[It wasn't until he heard Ken's voice that he stops his complaining. He'll take a moment to cough away from his direction before speaking up again.]
Uh... Yeah, that's me. D-Did you come here to ask about the Occult Research Club?
no subject
Although, he didn't have to wait for long. When he heard his name, Ken gave a nod.]
Yes, that's right. My name is Ken and I was wondering exactly what are we suppose to do for this occult research club?
no subject
To put it simply... The club exists to solve various mysteries ranging from UMAs to supernatural phenomena. I know we already get quests around town for that, but there's bound to be some that go overlooked in town.
[A beat.] Think of it as a group of detectives doing some snooping for the public!
no subject
In other words, we'll just keep on looking around to see what other bizarre stuff this world has to offer.
[While a part of him wanted to join as a way to hang around other people his age, another part wasn't too sure.]
And tell me, what happens should we notice these supernatural occurences?
no subject
Hmm... I guess my first question would be to ask how good are you at fighting? There's a possibility that we might encounter some dangerous things.
[He knew that this world wasn't all fun and games. Of course there would be danger around each corner hence why they had to be ready for anything.]
Not to scare you or anything... But there's a chance that I won't always be around to help or protect you when things get rough. So you gotta be ready to think and fight on your own feet.
no subject
I like to think that I'm above average for someone my age. I know how to fight with a spear and I know how to defend myself if things get difficult.
[Although, that doesn't stop him from giving a small pout.]
And trust me, I've fought against Gods and other god like entities before so a few supernatural creatures shouldn't bother me.
no subject
Wait... You've fought gods with just a spear? Surely, you weren't doing this whole thing completely solo!
no subject
[He could have gone into detail about they fought said Gods but he'll keep that to himself. For now, he gave a small sigh.]
But anyway, just know that I can take care of myself. How about you, can you fight?
no subject
[Kotarou laughs a bit sheepishly. Even though he couldn't rewrite himself anymore, he still had a habit of downplaying his abilities. More out of his own self-esteem issues than anything else.]
But I'll tell you this... I'm the type of guy who shows his true colors whenever he's in a pinch. That's how all good men should bare their fangs.
no subject
[He said with chuckle before looking down at Koromaru. As his dog gave him a nod, Ken glanced up at him with a smile.]
But that's good! At least now I know all of us are in good hands. Just let me know when you're ready and uh...we'll start looking for leads? Like true detectives.
no subject
[Kotarou couldn't hold back the grin on his face. It almost reminded him of Kotori and Chibimoth in a way. He's sure that Kotori would have no problems getting by in this world if she had him by her side.]
I like the sound of that! You've got a good spirit... It's been a while since I've done some detective work, so I'm getting pretty pumped. If I get any news down the grapevine, then I'll give you a shout, okay?
no subject
[Meanwhile, here Ken was trying his best to hype up his dog! If he was going to show him off, he might as well impress this person right? At the same time, all Koromaru could do was looking back at Kotarou and then back at Ken before giving a small tilt to the side.
As he gave a bark, he decided to walk up to this strange new person before sniffing him.]
A-C
....What are you doing?
no subject
[So speaks Kotarou as he pulls his flyer out from the trash can. It was an unattractive sight for sure, but Kotarou wasn't concerned with looking his best right now. Overhearing Shiho, Kotarou lets out a rather annoyed sigh as he turns around over to her.]
Oh, uh... I was trying to get this flyer out from this trash can here. My familiar keeps disobeying me whenever it wants. I don't know how to make her listen to me.
no subject
[Though Shiho 'Pay Attention To Me Or Else' Sannomiya might also be projecting a little bit. Hey, she can't be the only one who enjoys causing major chaos when bored, right?
Speaking of being bored though, Tama the nekotama's tail is starting to swish back and forth as it watches Kotarou's familiar.]
no subject
[However, Kotarou could get the jist of what Emerald wants. Usually. Kotarou was a bit of a blockhead, though. There was usually a communication breakdown here or there. On that note, Kotarou couldn't help and notice the nekomata familiar on Shiho's shoulders. Emerald lands on Kotarou's head and tilts its own head in mere curiosity.]
U-Uh, excuse me... Is that your familiar?
no subject
[Is what she says, both Tama and Shiho giving Kotarou twin eyebrow raises. For now, at least, Emerald has been saved.]
no subject
[It was clear that Emerald was definitely the smarter one of the two. Kotarou couldn't help and let his curiosity get the better of him.]
What did you name it? If you're keeping it as a pet, then those are very important.
no subject
...No. That's supposed to be a joke, you know. She's my familiar, Tama.
[But both master and familiar are giving him a pitying look.]
no subject
[How embarrassing was this?! Kotarou abruptly clears his throat before regaining his composure. His familiar simply shrugs her wings... She's used to this all the time.]
Anywho... Since you bought up nekomata, I'm guessing that you know about mythical Japanese beasts. Are you a fan of the occult or supernatural?
no subject
Having a nekomata and being a fan of the occult and supernatural are two different things. [She turns away, frowning. Uncomfortable.
Tama though pipes up cheerfully: It's because she's afraid of them.]
Wh-! Who's afraid?!
A-B
Keigo reads the sales pitch and keeps right on walking. As a former dedicated Go-Home Club member and a former traumatized by the supernatural...er, he has no interest in joining a group dedicated to digging into mysteries and truths.
Unless it's the mystery of "Who's Coughing in the Empty Room?" That gets him to peek his head in.]
Are you a new student? The cafeteria is on the other side of the building.
[Someone wouldn't be examining this dusty room on purpose, would they?]
no subject
He brushes aside the dust on his face before glancing over to Keigo. Kotarou flashes Keigo a rather cocky smirk.]
Oh, I definitely know where the cafe is. But my purpose is right here... I'm planning on starting up a club, you see? This whole school needs something wild to shake things up.
no subject
[Even going to school to learn magic hasn't been enough to move the experience completely past the general nature of school as Keigo understands it. That would be to be as boring as possible at every possible opportunity. He'd love to see something exciting happen more often. A club would be a good way to get closer to more people, too, really work on creating those iconic high school memories he was almost robbed of when they kidnapped him from his own world.]
What kind of club is it?
no subject
It's an Occult Research Club! Basically, I want to gather a group of people to study the supernatural and help out others who are having problems dealing with it. Even if people don't join, I still wanna listen to people's stories about their experiences.
[Nowadays, Kotarou wondered if he could start up a blog or writing a book for interviewing people who have had an encounter or two with the supernatural. It'd give him something fun to do for sure.]
