Birthday Girl!
🧙 WHO: Yuzu Hiiragi and CR!
⚔️️ WHAT: It's her birthday! Well, late because it was on the 21st and interrupted by the tests, BUT
🕒 WHEN: After all the tests
🗺️ WHERE: Arc Sailor Moon House / Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: None?
Of course, that's not to say that she hadn't mentioned if offhandedly along with a comment about how it doesn't matter that much... so after all of the ordeals in the past week, she wasn't expecting anything more than a full day of time off. Maybe she'd hit the hot springs later as well...
So here she is, sleeping in the living room, her familiar sitting in her lap and doing the same thing. She's got no plans today, after all... and technically her birthday has already passed anyway. Funny, she didn't expect to turn 15 without any of her friends and family around...
Maybe that's why she was so dismissive about her birthday. She used to look forward to her birthday, after all. ]

[ To be frank, Yuzu's birthday wasn't really on her mind. Considering everything that happened even before she arrived here at Avalon, plus what's actually happened here at Avalon (including the tests that just so happened to start on the day of her birthday)... she'd just not paid much attention to something like her birthday.Of course, that's not to say that she hadn't mentioned if offhandedly along with a comment about how it doesn't matter that much... so after all of the ordeals in the past week, she wasn't expecting anything more than a full day of time off. She knocks on the door of what she assumes is her house.]
Yo, the birthday girl here? I got something for her! It's Homura.
no subject
Oh, Homura! How did you know about my birthday...?
no subject
[Said thing was all in a decently sized white box.]
no subject
[ She didn't really expect to get anything for her birthday in general... largely because it was skipped over by the tests. In any case, she'll take the white box and open it... ]

Never saw a weapon on ya, and figured you might have gotten too much sweets, so I went ahead and just got this. [Also lacked time.]
Oh and those balls are smoke bombs. Just in case you get into trouble, just throw them really hard to the ground.

[Makoto wakes up, gets ready for the day as usual, and makes her way downstairs. This is one of her days off from the cafe, so she's able to take it a little easier, and make a fuller breakfast for the house-- huh. Why did Yuzu fall asleep on the couch?]
Yuzu-chan?
no subject
[ Well, all of the stress from the tests was hitting her a little later on. Her memories through most of it is fuzzy, but... it was just a lot to go through in the span of a week. She didn't intend to fall asleep, but then she sat down and Odd-Eyes plopped itself down on her lap and her eyes started to close...
Well, you get the idea. In any case, she doesn't stir yet from Makoto's voice. In the first place, she still felt guilty about opposing her during the siren test. ]

[Aww poor girl. Makoto just smiles and decides to let her sleep. For now, she'll grab a blanket already draped over the back of the couch and gently spread it over Yuzu and Odd-Eyes (enjoy the blanket tent, little guy). In the mean time, she'll get started on breakfast and lunches, the downstairs becoming more aromatic as minutes pass by.]
no subject
Mm... Makoto...?
no subject
[Ah, there she is. She waves from her place in the kitchen, not able to walk away from the pan she's tending just yet.]
Morning, Yuzu-chan~!
no subject
Oh, Makoto!
[ Immediately she feels some guilt surge up from her chest, and she goes silent. ]
no subject
[Makoto... definitely senses something's off.]
How're you feeling?
no subject
[ She'll get to her feet, lifting up the small dragon on her lap and setting it down on the couch with the blanket. What a lazy familiar... ]
What about you? After all those tests, I mean...
no subject
I mean... yeah, some of them were rough [but honestly? not counting Yuzu's trial in the "rough" pile], but nothing I haven't handled before.
[A quiet smile as she motions Yuzu over to the kitchen bar. She's making French toast with good brioche~]
You sure you alright?
no subject
[ She bites her bottom lip. ]
I'm... still reeling from it all... and because of me, you almost...
[ Because she'd been dumb... desperate, even, to see Yuya again... she'd fallen for a fake and Makoto ended up getting attacked to protect her. This feeling of helplessness... it wasn't new, and that was what hurt the most. ]
no subject
[Oh. Oh no, she knows those words all too well. Has heard them and said them far too often as a senshi. Thankfully, that means she knows what to do.
She sets aside the conveniently-finished-cooking pancake to the stack so she can make her way over and wrap Yuzu in a gentle but very firm hug.]
Hey, hey... that wasn't your fault, you know that, right?
no subject
Yeah, but... if I hadn't fallen for that in the first place...
[ She sighs. It wasn't even the first time someone put themselves in danger to save her... and she hated that this kept happening. ]
no subject
No. [She firmly but gently takes Yuzu by the shoulders so the girl can look at her.] The siren chose to mess with your brain. You're not the first person to fall for a trick like that, and you won't be the last. Hell, I've been tricked light that several times. You can't blame yourself for that or it'll eat you alive.
no subject
[ She feels her eyes start to water as Makoto holds her shoulders. She knows that Makoto is right, and she would be totally correct... normally, at least. ]
I should be able to tell when it's not him! When it's not Yuya! I've always been able to... we're the same, after all! We both have to deal with the fact that we're both just... pieces of someone else!
[ She should have been able to. Looking back, even, it was obvious. His expression was off, his voice was too... unnatural for a reunion. But she had been so desperate to see him again that... she'd just stopped thinking.
Oh, right, sorry Makoto... you've heard of her lookalikes, but you haven't really heard about this, have you? ]
I've always been able to tell when it isn't him... when it's something or someone else...
no subject
Hey... [She puts a finger to Yuzu's chin just long enough to tilt her gaze back to her.] If Yuya got tricked by a Yuzu-siren, would you hold it against him?
no subject
Her silence speaks volumes, honestly. ]
no subject
Thought so. Neither do I, okay? The only one to blame is that siren. It really isn't your fault.
