[After the trials had calmed down, for Ren at least, he was even more sad than he was earlier in the month. At least, back then, he was happy for Usagi at the same time for reuniting with the light of her life. Now... well, he didn't have that sort of happiness in his mind.

In fact, he's so out of it he's just sitting on the couch of his apartment while staring at the same page of the cook book he has been staring for a good ten minutes now.]

[Ren jumps at the sudden coldness on his neck, almost letting out a scream but at least he keeps that in.]

[You know what, alcohol is good. Ren can definitely get behind drinking right now. He takes the glass for himself.]

[He pauses to take a sip of his own drink.]

[Ren drinks his own one, more than just a sip but not just downing it all even if that could have been an option.]

Did you get dragged into any of the trials?

[He shakes his head.]

No, I didn't. I haven't been feeling well the past while, and you may have noticed I stuck around the apartment a lot.

Right.

[Did he? Oh, yeah, he had seen Camus a lot when he came home from work or just general from outside. Huh.]

Well, one of the trials touched the topic of desire.

Oh?

[He should have brought the bottle, shouldn't he?]

How did that go?

Well... I saw her and pretty much lost the trial.

[He's gonna assume Camus knows who he's talking about.]

[He makes a noncommittal hmm noise.]

I figured it may have been that quick.

What happened then?

Someone had to snap me out of my trance and we got out of there. Without the help, I'd likely be Siren food.

Well, I'm glad someone did.

Things would be much less interesting if you weren't around.

[Ren says with a slight huff, thought he's mostly teasing.]

[Ren had just moved his belongings to the upstairs apartment of the Shining Karaoke bar where he would live with Camus from now on. In fact, he was in the middle of arranging his items when the door bell rang.

As Camus wasn't home right at the moment, Ren left the books on a table and walked to open the door... and smiled when he saw who it was.]

Why hello. Nice to see you again.

[This almost reminds her of all the times, when one of them arrived to each other's apartment in Lunatia. Almost. She's not here for-- But they were good company for each other in other ways too!!

Rin smiles back at Ren.]

[Aaaand she's inviting herself in by walking in... Then looking around from where she's standing and undressing her shoes.]

So, why didn't you live here before?

[Their lives are vastly different here. Though he does miss the simple life Prismatica provided. But this place wasn't bad either.]

It was more fun to live with a lot of friends... but now the situation changed so this is the better option.

[At least he still didn't live alone.]

[Prismatica sure was fun while it lasted... Or at least most of her memories from there are good, so that probably counts for something. Anyway, her life is much better these days.

Rin looks surprised to hear that. Huh???]

Living with lots of people does seem like your thing... So, what changed?

[Why is this better?? Also he better offer a drink and/or somewhere to sit or something.]

[Ren walks over to the fridge to pick up a few more fancier soft drinks (strawberry) for them and gestures for her to sit down on the couch.]

Oh, you know. Usagi and Makoto got more people from their world so I wanted to give them some more space. Camus didn't want to stay there without me, so now they have enough room if others show up.

[He gives one of the drinks to Rin before sitting down.]

And Usagi's fiancé is here.

[Rin goes to sit to that couch first, quietly listening to Ren while he explains it.]

Some people sure are lucky with more and more people from their worlds showing up.

[But now he has at least someone from home too and they live together, so good for them! Better keep any good people from home close here and so on.

Rin thanks for the drink, opens it and drinks a little from it. She looks surprised by how good it is. She'll have to get this later too!

What? You fell in love for someone, who's taken? That's a dangerous game, Ren.

[Not that he really complains about it, he's glad to have Camus around. He may not have been the first choice.. but he does enjoy his company.

Ren doesn't drink his yet. He mostly just holds the can in his hands, feeling the coolness against his skin.]

It seems to be a theme for me. Falling in love with someone you shouldn't.

I live with two now but haven't seen anyone else I'd recognize in... Months. And those two have been here ever since we all arrived here.

[Then Shirou left a lot earlier and he hasn't been returned. Guess he's happy somewhere else with Sakura which is where they both should be too instead of being stuck in any other world. And she never tells it to anyone but she really misses Lancer a lot more than she even admits to herself.

Oh, so it really is that serious? Rin stops teasing and looks more serious too.]

Sometimes that just... Happens. As if it's not complicated enough without everything, that this whole world hopping things brings along with it.

[So, maybe he's not the only one in the room, who's been through that?? Oh wait, he knows that, probably, she may have talked to him while she was drunk in a different city.]

[Ren smiles a bit sadly at what Rin says next slowly opening the can he has and taking a sip. A nice, sweet taste of strawberry.]

Yeah... I don't regret anything. I don't think Usagi-chan does either. And I am really happy for her.

[Is there a but? Maybe.]

[It can't be that obvious, that having those two around is good for her!]

Well, depends on how you look at it.

[If he wants to know what that means, he'll have to ask and she'll possibly tell more. It's honestly pretty simple here but if Shirou from her timeline would show up here again, then that'd be complicated. Not that Rin thinks she will appear even if with her luck? He might. Now. That would be their luck.]

Good. It's not like we'll remember these places after we return home, so the point kind of is to do whatever you want while you're here.

[She drinks to that.]

[He is curious so of course he'd ask.

Ren nods to that before letting out a quiet sigh.]

It was a lot easier when I could block my feelings away and not care about how much I was hurting. Maybe I'll achieve that again... I hope, at least.

Well, since you asked... [This might take a while.]

It's not like I'm going to see one of them back home whenever we'll return there, maybe not even in another world either if I end up somewhere else from here... [So seeing him here is amazing, obviously!!] And I never saw my girlfriend back in Lunatia, but that's probably better that way with all the time things going on with this world hopping stuff.

My boyfriend back home and the man here, who's my new boyfriend now hate each other more than anything else. Or something like that. And I mean it. Literally. But -- [Rin shrugs.] -- I doubt Shirou's ever coming back, not from our timeline at least, so it won't be complicated here and I'm not the waiting type.

[Sigh after explaining all of that, not that she isn't used to rambling. So glad she explained some of this stuff back in Lunatia about Shirou and timelines and whatever else, that she could explain there. So yeah, she decided to start dating with Shirou's worst enemy and she dragged Saber into it too or else she wouldn't be with two again.]

What was that rating thing, that people do? 0/10, wouldn't recommend blocking your feelings away or even just pretending like they don't exist. You'll get over her, then you'll find someone new... Someone who's not with anyone else.

That sounds complicated. But I can definitely see why you would take this opportunity to be with him now, no matter what the other guys' opinion is. And if he does return.. well, that's a problem for then, now, isn't it?

I know I will. It's just the first few weeks or months that will hurt like hell.
