The Clothes Alchemize the Man

[Rinea may not have won the sewing contest last month, but the renewed interest in magicked textiles it caused has made the tailor's shop she embroiders for quite busy. Rinea has had a quiet month, just catching up with orders... and when the tailor closed for a holiday, Rinea thought it would be a good time to go into the shop herself to drop things off.

But turning in her embroidery is but the work of a moment... and with time to herself Rinea is admittedly curious. Maybe she can get in some practice? She has managed to enchant simple decorations into her work, but what if she could use alchemy and kinetic magic to infuse the fabric itself with magical qualities? Like floating?....

When the shop bell dings at the door opening, Rinea looks up with surprised from the lacy, long-tailed bow she was enchanting. She had meant to lock the door behind her, but--!!]

Oh! I'm sorry-- the tailor is away for the moment. [Rinea hurries to curtsy in greeting and the ribbon flutters sadly back to the table, enchantment abandoned.]

Is there-- Is there something I can help you with?

Potion of Don't Die

[Rinea is still not very familiar with using the network. When she wound up with extra doses of her emergency potion after her venom quest, and hoped to do a public service by providing them to others... well, her first thought was putting up posters.

You may see Rinea with her ever-looming familiar posting her little advertisements around the analog notice boards around the city. The posters read:

First Aid Potion - Doses Available
For Emergencies in the Absence of a Healer

Stabilizes a gravely wounded person's vitals to allow their rescuer to transport them to a healer.
Lasts 15 minutes-1 hour, depending on severity of the wound.

current stock limited - pay for cost of materials

It also lists dates and times she's available, and where to contact Rinea should you want one made after her current stock runs dry.

She seems to have the potions on her, if the satchel on her person is any indication-- so you're free to approach!

OOCly, if you'd like a potion of don't die outside of this prompt-- just comment here and we can handwave!]

"You know "Chris" is just fine, Rinea." She says with a smile. She sees no reason to stand on ceremony here when she's no knight, and certainly no noble (well, not yet at least).

She examines the bow in Rinea's hands thoughtfully. "Of course not. Actually, that sounds like a rather ingenious idea." She counters. "I could see many uses for such fabric. My armour, for example." She's not wearing it now, but she knows Rinea is familiar enough with the suit of platemail. "If we could line the interior of key areas with such fabric, I daresay it would become the lightest suit of platemail I've ever worn." Greatly increasing her mobility at no cost to her defense.

She nods approvingly. "It's a smart idea, Rinea. You should take pride in coming up with it."

Chris considers that for a moment, then laughs good-naturedly with her. The image is, she has to admit, a funny one indeed. "Yes, I suppose you have a point." She admits. "But that aside, this idea still has real potential. I'm glad you're pursuing it."

An eyebrow is raised in surprise as Rinea hurries to get the gift. "I'm grateful of course, but you needn't go to so much fuss. Your companionship has been more than enough of a gift since our arrival." They did get along well as roommates, even accounting for the differences in their personalities. It was actually because of that Chris had poked her head in to talk to Rinea about. But she'll wait until her friend is done with this mysterious gift.

Chris holds the handkerchief carefully, almost afraid she'll damage it somehow. "My goodness Rinea." She utters with awe. "You say it's nothing grand, but...this is truly amazing. And your eye for detail! You've copied the Rune's pattern perfectly." Indeed, it was, as far as she could tell, an entirely accurate mirror of the True Fire Rune. Chris looks back up, genuinely touched. "Thank you." She says finally, before tucking her arm with the handkerchief behind her arm, and taking Rinea's own hand in her other. Bowing, she brings the hand to her lips and kisses it in a chivalric gesture of thanks.

"You are a true friend my lady, and I am humbled by it." She says, looking back up at her friend with a smile.

Chris tucks the handkerchief away as Rinea busies herself tidying up, then nods. "Yes, that's correct. I've been thinking about our lodgings at the hotel and that it might be time to find something a little bigger, but to be honest, after these last few months I've grown quite fond of your company." She admits with a smile. Chris had become used to her quarters being private, both in Brass Castle and Lightfellow Hall, on the rare occasions she used the place, but Rinea was a bright ray of sunlight, and the two complemented each other well as roommates. "I fear even a modest apartment would feel quite lonely if it was just me and Holly. And with your burgeoning alchemy business and the money I've earned from the jobs I've taken on the phone since I arrived, we could possibly afford something better than that. If you were of a mind to...go in with me, as they say."

Chris steps up next to Rinea as she tidies, and looks over, curious to see her reaction. "There are some places nearby I thought might be suitable, if you could spare an hour or two to join me." She offers.

Despite her usually reserved demeanour, Chris beams fondly at Rinea's excitement. It's a bit of a relief; she figured the chance was remote that Rinea would say no, preferring to remain in the hotel, but she was still nervous about asking, even if they had already proven to be completely suited for living together. "Splendid. Here, we can eat on the way." She raises her arm, where the bag containing the cakes she'd brought are stored. "And I have a splendid new handkerchief to deal with any crumbs." She adds in fond realization. It really was a tremendous gift on Rinea's part; the young woman was truly gifted with her hands. For a moment, Chris is ashamed that she hadn't thought to do something similar for her friend, though after a moment's consideration, and seeing Rinea excitedly putting everything away to go, she realizes that perhaps she actually just has.

"Nor have I." She admits; even after her parents were gone, Lightfellow Hall remained hers even if she was sent to live with Lord Keeferson as his ward until she came of age. "But I'm confident between the two of us we can find something suitable. Is there anything in particular you'd like to be on the lookout for?" She asks.

She steps out and waits for Rinea to lock up, nodding thoughtfully. "A workshop, or a place that could easily be turned into one." She thinks, clicking her teeth as she mulls it over. "If we cannot find a house with a dedicated space, perhaps a basement or attic would serve as well?" It's not as though they'll have much need for a great deal of storage space, given all their current possessions currently fit inside a single hotel room.

"Actually, wait. I have an idea." She fishes out her phone and opens it to the real-estate page where she'd managed to find some suitable listings. "Here, this place has a shed in the back yard." She offers the phone for Rinea to look at; it includes pictures of the shed and its interior. "Perhaps something along these lines?" It's fairly well-lit and has space for a few worktables. "A place to start at least."
