[Colette, please?? Izuku is going to only get more protective over this clumsy friend! ...Not that he can really talk, he's had his own clumsy moments.
But the river...! At least it makes her smile so he smiles too.]
It's amazing, isn't it? It's something about this time of the year and the influx of fairies that does it.
no subject
[Colette maybe don't sound so casual about that....? But it's probably just because. It's Colette. That and she and Sheena do become friends in spite of everything because Sheena couldn't resist Colette's cheerful friendship for long.]
The fairies? They are what make it look like this?
no subject
... Colette-san...? Someone was trying to kill you??
[This is why Izuku has a growing concern for her all the time???]
no subject
[....Which. Still doesn't change the fact that Sheena's introduction to Colette was to run at her to kill her? But at the same time, this is Colette, so of course she was more worried for the clumsy assassin that fell down the hole she accidentally opened with tripping over.
Though it is rather easy with how oblivious she could be that people like Izuku understandably get concerned.]
But I guess it's like the others said. Not everyone wants salvation and it makes sense that Tethe'alla wouldn't want me to regenerate Sylvarant because of what it means for them.
no subject
He's met people who were naive before but this really is on another level sometimes. Izuku supposes he can't really blame her since she grew up in such a sheltered and narrow way. But someone trying to kill her... He's not too sure how to feel about that.]
I- I guess I'm glad it turned out okay for you two as friends in the end...? And with those worlds acting codependent like that I... Ah. It was probably complicated.
[But they aren't really here to get into the heavy nitty-gritty of all that, are they. Izuku wants Colette to have a good day, looking to a bright future that is all hers!]
A-anyway, have you seen anything like this before? Where the water shimmers or magic and fae make things glow?
no subject
[There were. Obvious reasons only Colette or Sheena could approach it. That and the unicorn mistaking her for Martel. Saying only Colette could be the savior of the world. She is at least easily enough distracted, and doesn't seem too concerned regarding Sheena or anything. At least not anymore. As she glances to the water and crouches lower to get a better look.]
What about you? Did you have something like this too? Back home? Or -- I guess with your home it's more the people? Right? That have those 'Quirks'?
no subject
[Sometimes he really can't believe these sorts of things are real in other worlds. Izuku is amazed as he crouches down to touch the surface of the water. He tests it for a moment letting the coolness rush over his fingertips before searching the bottom of the riverbed for the smooth shiny stones needed.]
Ahh, we might not have things like mana and unicorns but I live in a world where almost everyone has an ability unique to them. The quirks I told you a bit about before...! We're considered a super-human society.
[He laughs a little sheepishly.]
But I wouldn't mind if we had unicorns and fae.
no subject
[Unicorns and so many others they faced generally around while traveling but also at the Seals in proving themselves in combat to progress past those enemies. That he didn't have elves, or half-elves dealing with that racism aspect as well. She claps her hands together and smiles as she listens to him before crouching down to, dipping one hand in the water to feel the temperature. The coolness of it against her skin. She savors so many things now, after not being able to feel before.]
It would be interesting. If most everyone had abilities -- these Quirks like you say. But I guess that depends like you've said. How those abilities are used. I think using them like this, the fae with the water being so pretty, that's beautiful.
no subject
[Unless Nomu counted as monsters? No. He hasn't seen elves yet but do they exist in this world? He's not too sure, either. But alongside the hordes of pixies and fae that he's met so far he wouldn't be surprised if elves existed here too.
Izuku decides to pull off his shoes and socks and wades into the shallows of the river so he can pick at a few of the rocks there too. The water is so glittery. Like wading into a rainbow.]
I like the idea that every quirk is different from another one. They really become a part of who we are. [He nods.] It's really interesting how the fae makes the water sparkle like this. I guess that makes this their "quirk" in a sense!
no subject
[But he doesn't need to hear about her and her friends having to prove themselves in getting past such beasts and the like to get her through to the Seals to pray at the altars. Let alone the creatures roaming around randomly. It'd kinda break the mood....bit of a downer.
She does join him though in pulling up her tights, removing her boots to join him in the water. Stepping in and admiring it. Colette can't help but to smile at him talking about the Quirks.]
You really are passionate about them. The Quirks. I'm not sure I have anything like that, exactly. [Something she is so passionate and knowledgeable about.] I wonder how it works, making the water sparkle like this though. It's so pretty!
[Her sleeves rolled up, she reaches and cups some of the water in her hands.]
no subject
[Oh, Izuku's cheeks heat up slightly when she mentions how passionate he is about quirks. He is, it's something he loves studying up on and seeing for himself. Not just his quirk but other people's quirks as well. It's just amazing. He really is a fanboy and for that, he feels a little embarrassed.
He fishes his hands through the water and pulls up a curious rock. It's not too shiny.]
I guess I am- I wasn't always able to see quirks close up before. And seeing new abilities and things like that in this world is just really great to me. [Nerd nerd nerd.] You can probably call your magic you're learning as your own quirk, in a way? Or something else that you're good at.
[No angel quirks! Anymore!!]
no subject
[She isn't sure what she's good at exactly. Just what she liked. Dogs, fruits. Lloyd. And what she was told was her duty, what she had to do. So of course it's been rather a journey for her in figuring reconciling it all now. Colette gives a small smile, glancing to the rock he pulls up.]
I guess I haven't really thought about it. What I'm good at. What I want. But....I'm trying. Learning. To think of where to next. The future.....how I can use my magic here to help, what I want to do besides school.
no subject
[He smiles, that same small embarrassed blush on his cheeks getting a little warmer. Only now it's because he's happy to hear that she's thinking about things for herself. Things she might like, things like that.]
I think... trying things that are new or that even scare you a little bit might help you find things you like to do or want to get better at. As long as they seem interesting to you, I think a little trial and error isn't so bad.
no subject
[Her being able to manipulate light and plants and all. She can't help but to admire it all. The beauty of this with the fae. The various uses for their abilities once they get the hang of them. The versatility and all with the Quirks she does know of.]
But you're right. I have to keep trying. There's a lot of things I didn't get to do back home. Because they couldn't let me do anything that might be dangerous.
[They couldn't risk losing her before she went on the Journey. Colette admires the rocks, the water as she dips her hand in again, feeling the coolness of it against her skin as her sleeves are rolled up.]
no subject
Ah-! I think this is one of the holo-stones! Colette-san!
[He holds it in his palm, offering it to her to take.]
I think it's a little bit like this. Sometimes it just takes some time to find something special. It took me a while to get my quirk and really make it my own. But I'm getting there. I think you'll get there too.
no subject
[She leans in a little closer, eyes wide as he holds it up and offers it to her. She reaches to take it, blinking and admiring it. She's not seen a stone like this one before. It really is amazing. And beautiful.]
It's so pretty! And you're right. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Especially since you said All Might has a similar Quirk to yours that he can help you with it! Even if you don't figure it overnight, that's okay. I'm sure everyone takes time to get better at it. Controlling it, figuring the limits and all. The same with me with my abilities, here or back home.
no subject
I think that's what we were looking for.
[Izuku looks curious and proud! It's a neat-looking stone. It shines in the light with such a vibrant rainbow sheen.]
You should keep that one since it's the first one we found. Maybe it can be a nice good luck charm in helping you get better with your own abilities.
no subject
[It is pretty. But she didn't come here to find one for herself, and neither she guesses did he. So she takes and pockets the stone while continuing to help search, thanking him with a smile even as she does so. In shifting some of the rocks to see if she can find another like it.]
no subject
I'm sure we'll be able to find more! ... Or at least I hope so.
[They're supposed to hold some magical properties, aren't they?]
no subject
[Her sleeves and leggings are rolled up anyway to avoid them getting wet, the tunic bare without her usual slip over it in preparation for having come into the water anyway. So she's as ready as she could be to help lean in and check, her own hands also searching while trying to not disturb the river too much.]
no subject
If we can find a few of them that would be ideal. I'd really like to study them closer up.
no subject
[Would that be possible? She isn't sure how long this might last once taken away from the river. How this sort of magic might work exactly. It isn't that she really pauses in that question but more she glances to check he is okay when he yelps at the fish. She can't help but to giggle a little in seeing what startled him in just being relieved he was okay after that reaction.]
no subject
[So, he's really just a curious nerd.]
no subject
[She asks as she feels and looks around to try find another like that. Her hand finally clasps one and she holds it up out of the water with a grin. It might take a bit but they should find more.]
no subject
[He smiles, still a little sheepish about his own ideas. This world has really opened up a new side of nerdiness for Izuku. He can't believe how much he loves this stuff...
Most stones and gems can act as conduits for magic so- Ah!! You found one too, Colette-san! That's great!
[They're going a good job!]
