may catch-all
🧙 WHO: Maribelle & You!
⚔️️ WHAT: Catch-All For May - Quests and TDM prompts included.
🕒 WHEN: All Throughout May
🗺️ WHERE: Verens - city, beach, training grounds.
⚠️ WARNINGS: N/A, will update if needed.
Party Rock Anthem
[ Maribelle is absolutely not here by choice. She was yoinked inside, and has tried to get out several times. All of this so-called dancing, this hard drinking, this… utter debauchery, it’s all too much for her gentle, elegant body to take! Oh, and her temper is a hell of a thing. She doesn’t care that she’s shouting – the music’s so loud, who can really hear her?]
If I have to hear that awful ‘untz untz untz’ noise one more time, I swear I’ll just scream!
Holo Goodbye
[ Maribelle’s being a tad picky in this quest. After all, if this could be an elderly lady’s last hurrah, then Maribelle will settle for nothing less than the best, most beautiful stone she can find!
Which explains the small pile to her side, as she continues to nitpick over each one she finds. ]
Hmmm… no, no, this won’t do at all. The colors are all out of balance. It’s far more garish than gorgeous.
Safety In Numbers
[ What a dreadful attack! Maribelle is unharmed, thank goodness, but she’s quick to work. She has healing magic, and intends to help everyone she can.
Which, unfortunately, she’s taking very literally – she wants to help EVERYONE. Even as her magic is draining her and leaving her utterly and completely exhausted, she’s still trying to find anyone who needs her help. Sweat drips from her brow, and her familiar, a white bird on her shoulder, lightly nips at her hair in an effort to make her stop. But Maribelle dismisses the gesture with a wave of her hand. ]
Nnnngh… I can’t just stand idly by! I must keep moving… I must keep moving…
Training
[ Maribelle is trying to get the hang of her second magic, Light. For now, she knows how to make a shield, and is choosing to try and master that first. But this magic is so foreign, compared to what she knows of her world, so trying to draw it up is difficult.
At the training area, Maribelle notices she isn’t alone. After a moment’s hesitation, she asks an odd question.]
… Could you please attack me?
Wildcard
[ Make your own prompt! Feel free to plot with me at plurk, melcat33 !]

[ no she isn't. ]
I'm a healer, this is my duty! I... I have to...
[ She says this, but she's leaning on a wall, staggering. ]

[Olivia stands up straight, walks over to Maribelle... and physically starts dragging her over to a chair to sit down.]
Now don't make me sit on you. You'll be no good to anybody if you can't even lift your own arms.
[See! She can be determined too!]
no subject
[ But the idea of the threat, and the mental image, is so silly that she really doesn't put up a fight as she's dragged along. ]
... Tch... v-very well. But only for a moment, mind you!
no subject
[Well that and she was worried that having her friend's weight on top of her would exhaust Maribelle even further which would be rather counterproductive.]
no subject
Maribelle does finally sit down, at least. ]
... Healing magic is so different in this world. If my staff acted normally... if any of this was normal, I... I could do so much more...
no subject
Olivia is just going to sit on the floor next to Maribelle because... she doesn't want to get up to go get a second chair.]
I... I know what you mean... the only magic I've learned to do here is elemental magic, and it's so different from using tomes. What's worse... I don't think my dancing is doing any good.
no subject
What do you mean? Your dancing is as beautiful as ever, Olivia, and I won't hear otherwise.
no subject
You're very kind to say so Maribelle, but think about it. Doesn't my dancing normally refresh your energy so that you're able to do twice as much as you normally could? If that were the case, would we be sitting here right now?
no subject
[ She's reluctant to admit it, but the words have some truth to them. ]
... To think that this wretched place would even affect your most innate ability... It's cruel!
no subject
That's probably not the worst thing to happen to me here. Remember when the doppelganger had me tied up in a sack? I wanted to help find the solution to the doppelganger plague, so I went to the forest of the fisher King... I had to be rescued by a little girl.
[A little girl who also seemed to have helped Maribelle not push herself too hard caring for the injured.]
no subject
... You were still braver than I. I was one of the ones who stayed behind.
no subject
[Does she even need to say she felt shy?]
Oh no! You were the one who saved me from the doppelganger!
[It's one thing for her to doubt herself, but quite another when her friends doubt themselves!]
It's just as well that you weren't there, that forest is insanely dangerous! I'd have hated if anything happened to you too, just because I felt I needed to redeem myself!

[Oops... was she getting a bit hysterical there? She sure hopes people aren't staring at them, so she's going to lower her voice a little.]
You had every right to be cowardly, that forest is too dangerous! You don't even want to know how close I came to dying! If I'd known how stupid it was for me to go when there were much more capable people already going, I would have sucker punched the me that made the attempt!
[Does that even make sense? Can you retroactively punch past you? Olivia sure wish she could to keep herself from experiencing the traumas of that forest.]
Ohhhh! Why couldn't I just keep my big mouth shut?
no subject
[ How much had carrying all that hurt her? Maribelle says nothing for a moment, then reaches over to gently touch Olivia's hand. ]
... Maybe we're both being a bit too stubborn about this.
