[ Living in the inn hadn't been Momo's idea of an ideal living situation (especially when it started flooding intermittently), but at least it had come along with readily available meals. Momo's had it lucky thus far in life, when it comes to food availability... From her parents' personal kitchen staff, to Lunch Rush's cafeteria food, to the dining room at the inn, Momo has somehow made it to sixteen without really ever learning her way around a kitchen. Now that she's moved into a small house with her female classmates, it's sink or swim!

She heads to the market to pick up some supplies— nonstick pans, spatulas, measuring cups and spoons— though really, she's so far out of her depth; she doesn't know what she might need. She finds herself frozen in indecision looking at different cake pans, trying to debate the merits between a round pan or a square one. She'll turn to whoever is nearby, be they employee or customer, and ask politely, ]

Pardon me, but... Have you ever baked a cake before?

[ More often than not, Momo finds herself at the training grounds, practicing her magic.

Some days, she focuses on her Elemental magic, strengthening up her skills with the different elements. Her current training regimen focuses on using wind magic to lift herself up in the air and try to fly (or, more realistically, hover). When she gets tired of practicing the brute force of summoning enough lift to take off, she practices her finesse by trying to use lightning magic to power small household appliances. If she's too tired, though, she might just end up frying them beyond repair!

Other days, Momo spends her training time working on her Alchemy. She sits at a table, with a number of different materials and components spread out in front of her, her Yaoyorictionary nearby to look up any specific chemical formulae she might need. She tries the basics, changing the shape of metal, transforming wood into glass, before moving on to more difficult tasks like transmuting precious gemstones and metals, or brewing potions. She might be a bit too overly ambitious with her potion making, however, leading to some concoctions blowing up in her face (literally) in a stinking cloud of green smoke... ]

[ How difficult could this quest be? Momo likes to think she could navigate a raucous party well enough to suss out the vessel carrying out the spell and neutralize it. How difficult could it be? It's just a party, after all.

A very loud, intense party... Momo enters and right away finds herself bombarded on all sides by flashing lights, pressing bodies, and thumping bass. She claps her hands over her ears, trying to save herself from lasting hearing damage, and shouts to whoever agreed to help her on this quest, ] IT'S SO LOUD IN HERE!! I CAN HARDLY HEAR MYSELF THINK!

[ Finally, Momo's eyes and ears adjust to the levels of light and sound in the party, and it's a good thing too, because as soon as she stepped inside, the doors disappeared behind them. Focused on her goal, Momo explores the different rooms of the house (aside from the bedrooms with socks on the doorknob) until she finds the spare bedroom that is serving as the coat room. This is as good a place as any, she wagers, to start the search for the vessel. Only, as soon as Momo and her partner start rifling through the pile of coats on the bed, looking for anything out of place or unusual, a party drone enters the room, red solo cup in hand. ]

What are you two doing in here? You're not trying to kill the vibes, are you?

[Hilariously enough, the person that Momo asks is none other than one of her housemates! Honestly, is she really so unrecognizable when she wears her hair a different way? Today it's two short pigtails, with the longer parts of her brown hair tucked behind her ears.]

Hm? Oh, yes, I ha--ah!! Momo-chan! [Ochako beams, a little surprised but delighted to find her friend at the same place she is. Seems like they both had the same idea to peruse the marketplace for some supplies.] Are...a-are you looking to bake something, Momo-chan?

[Do they need to buy a fire extinguisher, too?]

[ With her friend's hair done up in pigtails, Momo had completely thought she was a stranger. And somehow, asking a stranger for baking advice is entirely less awkward and anxiety inducing than asking someone she's as close to as Ochako. ]

Ahhh, nooooo!

[ She turns her back to Ochako for a moment, clenching her fists and curling in on herself, shaking her head. ]

This completely ruins the surprise!! You weren't supposed to know I was baking anything until the cake was already made!!!

[Oh...oops? Ochako holds up her hands in surrender a little bit, hunching up her shoulders apologetically and shaking her head quickly.]

Aah, I-I'm sorry, Momo-chan, I didn't mean to spoil myself!! B-But, um...we can still surprise the other two girls, right? And if you help, I don't mind giving a few pointers!! I've baked and cooked a lot of different things - me and Deku-kun actually made a really tasty cake recently for Bakugou-kun. I promise I'll keep quiet about this one!!

[And, uh...she can also make sure you don't try to add tea leaves to the batter or anything, dearest and most sheltered of friendos.]

What sort of cake were you wanting to make?

I was going to try to make a German chocolate cake, but that was probably... a bit overly ambitions of me, now that I think about it some more. I should have just purchased one at a bakery...

[ Throwing money at the problem has never failed her before. ]

[Ah...a German chocolate cake does sound really, really good, but indeed it is a bit, erm. Complex to make. Or at least time consuming and takes a lot of prep and various ingredients. But no!! Don't give up, Momo-chan!]

No, I think a chocolate cake is a great idea!! Maybe not one so fancy, but a simple chocolate cake can be just as delicious! Better than a bakery, too, because we made it together ourselves! [Something to be proud of!]

[ With Ochako's enthusiasm, Momo is starting to come around on the idea. ]

I wanted to surprise you, to thank you all for helping me these past months, but... I suppose if we can do it together, then the plan isn't ruined!

[Oh gosh, Momo-chan is just so cute!! Definitely as soft and sweet as a cake. Ochako just giggles to herself and nods her head.]

Aww, Momo-chan...you don't have to do anything like that - you know we're always happy to help one another!! That's just what friends do! But I'm sure we can make a really tasty treat for the other two to enjoy. Let me look up a recipe, then we can start getting ingredients and tools to use... Probably some bowls, a few cake dishes, a spoon and spatula...hrm.

[Ochako takes out her phone, scrolls through a few recipes for a simple chocolate cake - there are quite a lot of them - then picks the simplest one that seems to have gotten a lot of good reviews and shows Momo as well to get her take on it. Once they've both decided, Ochako will take her hand to begin looking for things to help them bake.
