I. 1st Big Opera Role (Lucy or Nyuu) | CW: mentioned religion in link to the opera's synopsis

[Although it's not a starring role just yet, the girls are finally getting a bigger supportive role for this month's opera performance. They've told their friends and acquaintances about it, inviting them to come watch, but it's a public performance so all are welcome. The opera running this month is Rinaldo, but with an Avalonian twist. Lucy and Nyuu's role (depending on who is in control) is Almirena. Each night, they are wearing a blue and gold dress, and their hair is styled into a braid that hangs over their right shoulder. There's even tiny flowers intertwined with their hair.

No matter which of the girls is performing, however, both have made sure to memorized their lines. During Act 2 is a scene where Almirena sings of her grief of being in captivity, and all eyes are on the girls. Each of them sings beautifully during their nights of performing.

The girls can be approached after the performances if one sticks around a little longer and spots them exiting the theater, dressed in their regular clothes while their hair and makeup remains. Or perhaps they are spotted walking on the street during a normal day out and about.]

II. Quest: No Buccaing Out (Lucy)

[A diving suit would have been the best thing to wear, but those were expensive, so Lucy just bought a swimsuit with shorts that's a combination of pink, lavender, and black colors.]

I can turn into aquatic animals with my animal magic, so if you need the potion, go ahead and take it. I wonder if a crab's shell could withstand the paralytic? I know of a crab native to Japan that's pretty big and has long limbs. What about you? What were you planning to do?

III. Quest: Holo, Goodbye (Nyuu + a possible switch to Lucy? Depends on how drunk Nyuu gets.) | CW: Drinking, Drunk Nyuu

[Because the fairies are drinking, they're either more cheerful than usual, or more mischievous, or maybe even both. Either way, they offer some of whatever they're drinking to Nyuu. She puts her hands out in front of her and laughs nervously.]

Ahaha... I mustn't drink. I don't really drink anyway--

[The fairies become offended by Nyuu's rejection and threaten to withhold the stones. Nyuu panics and ends up accepting their offer. She's still normal after the first drink, but the fairies want her to drink more.]

Eh? M-more? [She looks helplessly at whoever's decided to accompany her on this quest.] What should I do? I don't want to become a burden by getting drunk, and we have to get the stone to the family before the holo wears off. But if I don't drink, they said they wouldn't let us take any...

IV: Bug Catching Contest (Nyuu)

[Nyuu's all for the middle ground stance (as well as the slow/steady, but that's mainly because of the bribery with cookies). She's got a plastic bug cage with what she's caught so far. It's not full to the brim, but it's a modest amount of bugs, until one of the bipedal frogs wraps their tongue around her ankle. Nyuu cries out in surprise as she falls to the ground, dropping her cage hard enough that it bursts open, allowing the frogs to gobble up everything she had.]

Oh no! My bugs!

[She just stays on her knees, looking at her fallen cage dejectedly.]

[ After another lovely performance, Maribelle begins to approach the girl(s). ]

Excuse me? You were just on stage, were you not?

[It's Nyuu who happens to be performing that night.]

Yes, I was. Ah... Forgive me, but I feel as though I've seen you before, somewhere. Were you at the Valentine's Day Concert by any chance?

[It's one of those feelings of familiarity where one feels as though they've seen a face, but are not entirely sure yet they can't shake that feeling.]

Indeed, and I would say the same of you - I knew I'd seen you elsewhere... and what a delight to see you using that lovely voice of yours for the arts!

[Nyuu's face alights in bashfulness, but she still smiles.]

Thank you, I'm humbled that such a talented musician liked my singing both then and now. My name is Nyuu, by the way. Pleased to meet you!

[She bows in greeting.]

[Nobunaga officially LOVES opera! Who knew it was so relatable!? Well, aside from the magic and religious stuff! BUT OTHERWISE!]

[He is all dressed up in a super sleek suit, nearly a tux, and he definitely needs to find more excuses to wear this, because he looks AMAZING, if he says so himself!]

[He also has two flowers, because he heard it's customary to bring flowers after the show, and they're different colors. Pink and dark dark blood red. Courtesy of Kitsuno though, because she picks up flowers for the shop. But one is for Nyuu, and the other for Lucy, because making them share one doesn't seem fair.]

Thank you. Are you Oda Nobunaga? Nyuu wrote to me about you. I'm Lucy.

[She gives a polite bow, braid falling to hang loosely against the side of her face until she straightens up. It may be the same face, body, and horns, but there's still some noticeable differences between Lucy and Nyuu. Lucy's eyes, though not as cold as they used to be, are still not as bright as Nyuu's. Even their cadences are different, with Nyuu being slightly higher and Nyuu leaning more towards the low side.]

[He bows back!] I am. Nice to meet you Miss Lucy. Were you both performing on stage tonight, or just one of you?

[Yeah, he gets it pretty instantly. Nyuu is a lot more childish, Lucy he has no trouble seeing as an adult, and someone to be more wary of, someone who has seen her fair share of death and knows how savage the world can be, while Nyuu has the childishness he mistook for even being her physical age at first.]

Only me, but Nyuu will have nights to perform too, since the show is running all month. I've gotta say, though, I never thought I'd see a historical figure from the Sengoku Period in modern, Western clothes. It's not a bad look for you, though.

[It's actually rather fitting, surprisingly.]

[Nobunaga wasn't here for the competition as much as observing, but the giant part of him that is just an overgrown child himself couldn't help getting caught up in the game!]

[He hands Nyuu his own cage and then just... tackles one of the frogs with his bare hands.]

[And... tickles it trying to get it to spit back one or two of the bugs.] What did I tell you assholes about eating cute things?! Stick to the fugly demons if you want to be stronger! [Flicks the one that grabbed Nyuu's ankle on the snout!]

Are you hurt, Nyuu? [He doesn't look back yet, still ready to punch the frogs to make them fuck off!]

[It all happened so fast that she barely had time to process it, but at the very least she's able to hold onto Nobunaga's cage without dropping it. At first, she was scared that he'd get violent with the frogs, but he only tickles them, except for the frog who tripped her. Still, there were worser ways that could've gone.]

No, I'm okay. The grass where I landed was soft. Thank you, Nobunaga-sama.

Okay good! These guys are so troublesome!

[But he laughs cheerfully all the same. Look, they're not bandits, and if someone was running around carrying konpeito in a konpeito catching race... he'd probably try to trip them and steal their jar too...]

[Back to the frogs!] Only ugly things make you stronger! Don't forget it! [By that logic does konpeito not make him stronger? Yes. But that's okay, he defeats oni/demons/the monks who fake that such things even exist - so he doesn't consume their power the way the frogs do to insects.]

[Back to Nyuu!] You can have mine if you want. I was just going to observe, but... [A mischievous grin and twinkle before holding a finger over his lips, STILL HOLDING THE FROGS BACK!] I got caught up in the moment. Don't tell anyone, okay?

[Nyuu feels the same about the frogs. She's not angry at them and, yes... She admits that she should've been more vigilant. But wow! All of his bugs? How can she allow him to gift her with that?]

Of course, Nobunaga-sama, your secret is safe with me, b-but I can't accept all of your bugs. [She bows deeply while still kneeling on the ground, putting her hands flat on the grass to stabilize herself, but soon smiles softly when she settles back down.] That isn't to say that I'm completely turning down your generosity. You can just give me a portion of your bugs.

I have animal magic as my primary type, so I can catch some more. There's still time.

[She's been changing into birds and animals that could burrow underground.]

[Soundwave doesn't have much interest at all in an opera, but when Lucy and Nyuu invited him he doesn't need much to agree to it. They are sole reason he needed to attend, anyway. Being the only mech here, he might possibly stand out amongst the crowd, even when he sits at the far back of the wall.

Once again, he loves their singing voices.

After their lovely amazing performance, he... doesn't meet the girls immediately while they're being approached by adoring fans. No, he instead exits and waits outside the theater, so they have some time alone together during the night. When he hears footsteps, he turns his head to see his pink-haired friend and makes sure there wasn't anyone else around them.]

Greetings. Amazing performance, Kaede.

[Every once in a while, Kaede's eyes would look directly at Soundwave during a musical number that didn't require her to look at another actor, his being a mech making him easy to spot indeed.

When Kaede herself is exiting the theater, she still has her makeup and braided hair, but she's changed out of her costume and into some regular clothes: a short-sleeved shirt and a long skirt that stopped above her ankles.]

Hi Soundwave. [She smiles openly at him and gives him a quick hug.] Thank you. It was nerve-wracking, but once I got into it, the anxiety melted away.

[She may not have appeared nervous while on stage, but she certainly had been. Growing up, she did her best not to attract attention to herself yet here she was now doing the opposite. It was a strange feeling, but it wasn't bad. In a way, it was another sign that she was moving on from her past pains that had kept her shackled.]

I hope you weren't waiting for me too long.

You did a wonderful job hiding it. I couldn't tell that you were nervous on stage.

[He returns the quick by wrapping his arm around her. If he had his telepathic ability he could tell that she was, despite not appearing that she is. But alas, he's still getting used to not being able to hear thoughts or emotions anymore.

But that aside, he's glad that Kaede has managed to overcome herself.]

Not at all. I hope you don't have plans for tonight. I'm sure you are hungry after your performance.

[ At this point, Akira wonders if it's possible to meet a fairy that isn't persistent. They might be extinct species, honestly. It's been quite a while since his last read fairytale, but that's not how Akira remembers them. Either way, when he notices that they've surrounded Nyuu, Akira steps closer. ]

It's really nice of you, but you might run out before the celebration is over. [ He kind of hopes that if they're persistent, then maybe, just maybe at least one of them is greedy, too. ] We'd love to have a stone or two, though.

[OOC: I'll leave the direction of the thread up to you! The drunk Nyuu warning was for just in case only; Nyuu doesn't actually HAVE to get drunk. It all depends on the other character's actions.]

[Thank goodness! Someone has come to help her! Nyuu has a hard time saying "no" to others (unless it's something that's very obviously bad).]

Y-Yes, that's exactly right! I'm humbled that you want to share with me, but I'm actually on a job right now, so it'd be bad if I drank any more.

[Would the fairies allow them to go free? Or would they make them drink one more time? Or would they make them do something else entirely? Nyuu tries to appeal to their compassion.]

Please. Someone's grandmother may not be able to see this next year, so we've been asked to bring some of the holographic rocks to her. That way she can see it one last time.

[Maybe the alcohol would help make the fairies more emotional so they could cry?]

[ The fairies are persistent; they try to convince both Nyuu and Akira that they have plenty of alcohol to go around and they should stay for a couple of hours longer and celebrate with them. Before they know it, they're both holding glasses filled with alcohol. If they're not going to drink it soon, a few faeries will just keep nagging them. ]

I could probably dry our glasses with magic or something... [ Akira lowers his voice to a whisper when the fairies stop paying attention to them for a while. ] I mean, if you want to drink—

[ To demonstrate, he makes a small whirlwind inside one of the glasses but one of the fairies notices that and makes a ruckus. ]

We won't give you even a pebble! You have to drink!

[ Uh oh, he didn't mean to piss them off. ]

[Mitsuhide always liked to watch various performances. He even acted as a performer for short kyōgen plays as a form of cover when he was on missions. So needless to say, he was very interested to see the opera. It also gave him a chance to wear the suit that Nobunaga gave him in a more appropriate setting.

[The opera certainly had a very interesting story. By the end of it, he was standing and giving a round of applause like the rest of the audience. Later, he went around to the theater exit to see if Nyuu or Lucy were there. Once he saw them, he clapped his hands again.]

A lovely performance. [He said with a smile.]

[Ah, another one of the Sengoku warlords. Nyuu had written to Lucy about Nobunaga and Mitsuhide, and how they appeared to be from one of those worlds with an alternate history; a history different from what was taught in their own world.

Unlike Nyuu, Lucy doesn't smile as readily. Instead, it's a calm expression as she nods in acknowledgement of Mitsuhide's praise and then bows her head.]

Thank you.

[Even their cadences are different, with Lucy's voice being a little more on the low side compared to Nyuu's. And their eyes... Lucy's lacked Nyuu's brightness.]

I'm Lucy. You're Mitsuhide, right? Nyuu wrote to me about you, including what you looked like so I would know.

[It's quickly apparent that Lucy doesn't use honorifics as much as Nyuu, if at all.]

[Even from his seat during the performance, Mitsuhide was able to tell that there was something different about the girl. There was something different about her mannerisms and body language, even though he knew she was acting at the time.]

[So it came as no surprise to him when the girl in front of him now introduced herself as Lucy.]

[A slight smile and a nod from him.]

You are correct. It's nice to finally meet you, Lucy.

[Since she decided not to use any honorifics, Mitsuhide decided not to use them as well. It honestly didn't bother him if anyone used them for him or not.]

[Seeing that play out, Noiz holds his composure and offers up a suggestion.]

Charge them for your feeding them.

[It's the first thought that comes to mind. If they're going to shake her down for her bugs, they better be willing to pay for them.]

Would they even be able to pay me, though? There must be some other way...

[She goes quiet, thinking, until her face lights up as if a light bulb was turned on.]

Oh! Perhaps this--

[Her form shifts into a harpy eagle. Nyuu spreads her wings and lets out a cry. Although harpy eagles usually go after bigger prey, the frogs still drop whatever bugs they haven't eaten yet and flee at the sight of such a large predatory bird. Nyuu relaxes her wings and tilts her feathered head at Noiz, speaking with her normal voice.]

Was that too mean? I feel kind of bad now.

[But if it gets them to stop picking on her...]

They're robbers, turning into a predator to scare them is what they deserve. And you did it without hurting them.

[Morgan's dojo is a peaceful and welcoming place, all things considered, with a larger front room for training groups and a somewhat smaller area behind it for individuals. To this one, Morgan had invited the girl(s?), the better to get a sense of her abilities. Rather than a formal outfit, he'd simply shed his coat, standing not far from the center with lazy confidence.]
