Could've waited until sunrise.
[ He pushes the window open, sweeping the glass out of the way. Whether he slept in his clothes and boots for exactly this reason or because he was too damn tired to get out of them is hard to say. Either way, the only thing he needs to grab is his sword before he hops out the window, dropping down to the ground not far below. ]
What pissed it off? [ Or rather, who pissed it off? He suspects a creature like this didn't decide to throw stones at the city out of nowhere. Otherwise there'd be signs of frequent rampaging. ]

Doesn't mean it's going to pass without comment, though. ]
If you regularly pass over stairs like that, I'm not surprised you ended up with an injured leg.
[ But enough ribbing. There's another boulder headed their way. Corwin reaches up a hand and uses his Kinetic magic to halt its momentum, holding it in midair, waiting for the passersby to clear out from underneath it before dropping it harmlessly to the ground. That done, he lets out a deep breath and a shrug. ]
Beats me. Probably something to do with those fools who headed up to the caves north of the city the other day.

[ The boulder hovers in the air before it collapses to the ground. Geralt steps around it gingerly. There's shit everywhere, wood and glass splintered on the ground from where the rocks have smashed. Horses fleeing.
No wonder this city needs so much damn magic to hold it together if this is how things go on a weekly basis.
Geralt ducks another flying stone as he pushes forward. Those fools sounds about right. Every time something's disturbed, it's been scholars and excavators making chaos in caves and tombs, too curious for their own good. ]
No one ever learns to knock before they start digging.

Well, then. What do you propose we do about it? The damned thing's looking for a fight, if you ask me.
[ Shall they take it to him? ]

Let's see how amenable it is. [ Not very, he assumes. Is it even sentient? He can acknowledge there's a certain intelligence in building up a pile of rocks to heave it, instead of simply rampaging through a crowd. ] No more portaling totems?
[ Until he can afford to finally buy a horse, he's been going everywhere on foot—which is an irritation in and of itself. ]
