What other dungeon is so dark as one's own heart (closed log)
🧙 WHO: Emet-Selch and Mukuro Ikusaba
⚔️️ WHAT: Tackling the Libyrinth pt 2
🕒 WHEN: April
🗺️ WHERE: Camelot area
⚠️ WARNINGS: --
He confesses to some surprise when he sees the posting for another foray into the labyrinthian library. But after their embarrassing retreat last time, he decides that he can't let his curiosity go unsatisfied.
"Thirty slimes for some pie, hmm...?" he mutters.
It takes but a moment to send a message to the woman he partnered with for his previous foray - one Junko Enoshima - and they meet at night as before. Once again they carefully make their way to the outer edges and size up the monsters which had initially given them trouble.
"Ready?" he murmurs to her.

It takes but a moment to send a message to the woman he partnered with for his previous foray - one Junko Enoshima - and they meet at night as before. Once again they carefully make their way to the outer edges and size up the monsters which had initially given them trouble.
"Ready?" he murmurs to her.

But as soon as she sees the note about returning to the library, she replies immediately and gets herself ready for another shot at it. Junko definitely didn't want to retreat this time around!
She even had her handgun with her, but it was her trusty combat knife that she kept in had as she crept her way towards the entrance to the Libyrinth.
"Ready. Hostile sighted at 2 o'clock." Ever the martial one.

They've all improved their magic since the first time they had come here. The creatures may be resistant to physical weapons but he is more familiar with what his magic can do now.
He signals for her to lure the enemy away from its kin. He will feel exceedingly foolish if this fails a second time.
tw blood magic
"Ready-" Aim. Fire.
A dark red bullet shot out, burying itself into the nearest slime- which very much did not seem happy as it moved away from it's kin, thrashing around to find out where the nasty pain came from.

The slime thrashes - soundlessly, which is the most disturbing part; but slimes don't have mouths after all - but eventually sinks into an oozing, lifeless puddle on the floor.
Emet-Selch breathes a sigh of relief. This can work. It's not as convenient as using his weapon but her sharpshooting skills combined with her blood magic should be able to handle these enemies.
Actually, that does give him an idea for later... Perhaps an alchemical poison on his blade?
"Let's continue." Emboldened by their success, he steps out into the open to get the slimes' attention. As they all charge towards him, he has stone spears thrust sharply out from both walls, impaling most of them upon stone.

"Yes, let's."
Whilst Emet-Selch focused on crowd control, Junko focused on shooting any that managed to swerve out the way of the stone pillars, aiming clean shots into the centre of their bodies. 1- 2- Two well-placed shots each seemed enough to disable them.
Hm. Would there be a way to make the blood-bullets shatter once they'd entered the slime's bodies? She narrowed her focus- but although the bullets seemed to twitch, no noticeable change. Something to practice with later, perhaps.
"...That's the last of them."

"Ah, the client wishes us to collect some of this for analysis, don't they?" He kneels carefully and withdraws an empty vial and small, thin spoon from his belt. With the spoon, he scoops some of the substance into the vial and corks it.
He fills a few more the same way and tucks them away. Perhaps he can make use of their flesh for a protective potion...?

It at least looks like he's not touching it directly...that was a good sign. "Wonder how far in this place goes."
no worries!
Some for the client and some for himself to experiment with later. Once he's done, he straightens and nods to her.

She waved her hand his way to demonstrate the overly long, garish fake nails she wore, before creeping her way forward- her careful body language rather dissonant with her actual words.
"Like, fingerless gloves look good, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the things."
no subject
"Gloves are essential for an alchemist," he murmurs, peering around the corner. "Some of the ingredients I work with are harmful to the skin."
There seems to be movement further down but it is too dark to make out. He inches closer, straining his eyes.

Chemical warfare had its tactical merits, but he didn't really strike her as the type to engage in that sort of thing- more importantly, she spotted that movement as well, narrowing her eyes to focus on it.
She gave a quick gesture to indicate the presence of hostiles, but with how dark the hallway was, even she was struggling. 2, maybe 3. If only she had a flare...
Of course, anything of an undead nature, she wouldn't be able to see, so that would be it's own problem.
