[CLOSED] - Bake You a Cake

[To say Ochako hasn't been counting down until Bakugou's birthday is...kind of a lie. There have been plenty times where she's forgotten and remembered and forgotten again, only to finally have the foresight to put in a calendar reminder on her phone to update her in case she was a dingus and forgot a third time. Thankfully, after a few events, the reminder wasn't all that necessary and while Ochako really did want to throw a big, fun, raucous party with all their friends, she...knew Bakugou would absolutely hate it. Something calm, quiet, and lowkey is better suited for the explosive blond.

Hence why she asked the person who knew him best on how to plan it. After much plotting and deliberation, Izuku and Ochako both got together and butted their heads on the details. Determined to put their all into it (Plus Ultra!!), and flex a bit of their baking skills, the duo decided to prep a spice cake for them all to share together, suited mostly towards Bakugou's tastes. Not too sweet, or rich, and with just a nice touch of spice to balance everything out and cater to what he likes. With Izuku's planning and assistance, and Ochako's attention to detail and creativity, the recipe turned out pretty darn good, for a first time recipe.

Of course, each of the two also have individual wrapped gifts for Bakugou as well, which he will get to unwrap later (or when he wants to, this is his party, after all!). There's also food, too, of course. Mostly finger foods for the hungry teens - hot wings with various dips, chips and salsa, sodas and juices, and other party favorites. Just enough to make it a lighthearted event Bakugou can enjoy, without too much flair...to scare him off.

Once he gets back from whatever outing or task he'd been at, Ochako can't help but be the louder and more excitable of the two and throw her hands up. Yes, enjoy your balloons and streamers adorning a small portion of the house, Kacchan. ~~Ochako promises to take them all down when finished.~~]

[Goodness did Izuku stay up late figuring a bunch of this out. Rapidly texting Ochako the day before in order to get everything done! The cake preparation was the fun part, making a cake that Katsuki might like was both a challenge and a no-brainer. Luckily he's halfway decent at baking things and with Ochako's help, they do a great Plus Ultra job!

Even with all the extra snacks and decorations, he is still a little nervous that Katsuki might completely cut them off. But he really shouldn't, it's been a while since they've been able to celebrate! Right...

While not as loud at Ochako is Izuku is excited about his reaction too. He shouts with a grin, setting off his little popper with a little shower of confetti! Poof!]

Happy Birthday, Kacchan!!!

[Please don't kill them!!!]

[ He has been out and about of course. His usual morning routine is that he goes out on a run. That's what he's coming back from.

Bakugou opens the door and is met with not one. But TWO people? Shouting? In his face? Why are they - ]

[ Birthday? Birthday? What the fuck are they - ]

[ Oh. Oooooohh. ~~Guess what dipshit had actually forgotten~~ It... It is that day. ]

[ WHAT THE FUCK!? HOW DO THESE LOSERS REMEMBER BUT **HE** FORGETS!? ]

[ Waaaaiiiiit a minute. These assholes have remembered and now they are shoving this cake in his face. Which means they've planned it. They've actually went out and planned something behind his back!?

WHAT THE FUCK!? ]

[ WHY ARE WE MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS!? His ears start to burn and all of the sudden Bakugou feels stupidly embarrassed to have all this attention on him. ]

WHEN DID YOU LOSERS FIND THE TIME TO DO THIS!?

Two months ago when I said I would!! [Ochako did remember that.] But we planned it all over the past few day, ehehe!

Come on, Bakugou-kun, we baked a cake for you, and I got you something I think you'll really like, too! Did you want to eat first, or presents?

[Little tiny pieces of paper confetti are just showering down on Katsuki's head making it all colourful and he sort of snorts with amusement. Whoops. He clears his throat!

And don't underestimate the power of Izuku and Ochako when they put their minds together!]

We wanted to make you a cake that you'd like, Kacchan. You should try it, we put a lot of work into it...!

[ "We" baked a cake for you. We. Meaning these two really did plan this entire thing. Even if it had been over the course of a couple of days, they had still planned it. What the hell. No, seriously. What the hell. Now Bakugou is just standing there with a stupid expression on his face. There's colorful confetti now stuck in his hair. Like he's some prickly cupcake.

Cake? Presents?

He looks around and notices the cake and the other treats. And he still continues to be embarrassed because despite his attitude... he really doesn't know what to do when there's legitimate positive attention coming his way that doesn't stem from someone wanting something from him. ]

Haaa...

[ There's only one thing he can do - ]

[ and that is !!!!

Turning around and trying to leave. Mmmhmm! ]

[Oh, no you don't!! Ochako is going to make an attempt to block his path, pouting with her cheeks puffed up, making them even rounder than they usually are.]

Come on, Bakugou-kun, don't be like that!! At least stick around for the cake and presents! It won't even take that long at all!

...And I won't leave until you do. [Sorry, Deku, but that's the rule Ochako just made. She'll sleep on the floor with the goat, if she has to.]

Kacchan!

[Luckily Ochako is quick on the jump and he completely endorses her clause of staying here until Katsuki opens his gifts and eats his cake too. Honestly, he's really glad she's here.]

Like Uraraka-san said, it shouldn't take long, so- stick around for that. We went through a lot of effort, I think you'll like it!

[Don't be an old man, Katsuki.]

[ How. The fuck. Had they cut him off so quickly!? So now Round Face is at his front, blocking his exit. That means...

He just turns around and tries to head towards his loft bedroom. ]

Imma shower.

[Going to interject here-

If Ochako is blocking the rear that means Izuku has to block the front! Tactical maneuvers!! So he jumps out in front of Katsuki and throws his hands up bravely to block the lion in its path!]

That- That can wait, Kacchan!

[Poor Bakugou...truly caged in from both sides. At the very least, Ochako will sympathize somewhat, and know that they have to do a little give and take to get him to cooperate with them, so...she steps aside to give him an escape route to take.

And an ultimatum.]

No, it's fine, Deku-kun. He can take a shower if he wants to... [She smiles, but it's not...in the way she usually does it. There's a dark aura about that sweet smile, that sours it a little.] But if he's not back down in twenty minutes, I'll come up there and bring him down - in his birthday suit, if that's what it takes.

[She probably won't do this, but...does Katsuki want to take that gamble?]

[ And thus Katsuki's hand ignites in a bit of a flame. It's the closest that he can get to threatening to explode anyone's face at this point. A silent threat that one of them better let him pass! Bakugou is about ready to say something when Ochako moves away. His hand lowers but his eyes narrow all the same. Something is suspicious here -

Ah. Thus she speaks and makes her condition known. ]

I'd like to see you try.

[ She wouldn't! She and Deku both wouldn't be able to get over their flustered blushing! ]

[Whoa- Oh no. That's taking it a little bit far! Izuku gives Ochako a wide-eyed look and a sweatdrop goes down his temple. Is that really the conditions here? Really?]

Uraraka-san...! Kacchan!

[Would they really be able to handle a Birthday Suit Katsuki walking around? He really doubts it--!]

Wait, wait a minute. Maybe instead of that Kacchan can go have his shower but after we do cakes and gifts? [He puts his hands together.] It's his birthday so it makes sense that he gets to pick... [But then he glances at Katsuki.] But you should stay around for a few hours since we went through all this for you.

[What would Katsuki's mother say about manners?!]

[They would not, but Bakugou doesn't need to know that. Man up, Deku!!

Ochako huffs, straightening her back and puffing up her cheeks as she faces down Bakugou, trying to look intimidating, or at least like she's not playing around here, but then pouts at Izuku with a quiet sigh and a shake of her head. Honestly...]

This is why Bakugou-kun is such a brat, Deku... You let him get away with everything without pushing back a little bit! [Yes, now she's scolding you both, arms crossed over her chest...though the actual bite isn't as present in her voice this time around.] Bakugou-kun, you can go ahead and take a shower, but I really do just want to spend time with you - we both do. I thought keeping it small and private would be better for you, too, so...please?

[Don't make her use the puppydog eyes.]

Haaaaa!? [ He puffs up again at Ochako's commentary! ] WHO IS A BRAT!? AIN'T IT YOU!?

[ She is the one making all the demands! It's her! Round Face is the one that is starting it! He didn't ask for this. Didn't ask for them to take it upon themselves to celebrate an assinine thing like his birthday! They are the ones that decided to do that without consulting him first. Giving into them is definitely something like spoiling them and legitimizing this sort of behavior.

The only reason he doesn't lash out further is because it's true. Small and private. Okay... Okay he can deal with that.

So he just grumbles and mutters something about "ten minutes, you losers" before storming off to do just that. Now he doesn't think he's going to be able to do this for hours, but spending a little amount of time? Fine. Whatever.

No puppydog eyes and no PLEASE... Geez. Spoiling the shit out of these two. ]

[... Man, he can't really help the puppy-struck look he gets when Ochako scolds him. Is he really that bad-? He's just trying to be Swizterland here because they did work hard and want to spend time together while also making sure Katsuki gets and likes his birthday!]

But, Uraraka-san-

[But at least it seems to work. He's grateful for that-! But he knew that it would be half a battle to make it happen, that's all.

Once Katsuki stalks off he gives Ochako a small sheepish smile.]

At least that worked in the end...?

[Or maybe Bakugou could have at least tried to use his words instead of stomping off like a big, whiny toddler? If you wanted them to consult you, sir, then reach out!! Ochako already planned this back in February when she first arrived, and committed to it. It's not her fault you forgot about it (good).

But, she will take a note of this... Ochako isn't one to pick at Bakugou for long - she's more of a "one and done" kind of girl, testing his limits and how far she can go without really pushing him past his limit. It's mainly to learn how to deal with him as well as challenging him to sort of...get over himself a little bit, too. Better himself, and maybe grow past what holds him back as a person. Ochako really just wants him to be better than he already is. He can't grow if no one forces him to.

HENCE WHY SHE NARROWS HER EYES AT DEKU. Don't you 'But, Uraraka-san' her, mister!!]

It did, this time...but you really can't let Bakugou get his way all the time!! I know he's your friend, Deku-kun, and you care about him, but letting be the way he is isn't helping him, you know? I care about him, too, and... [She sighs, drooping her shoulders a bit.] If he can't handle something like this, how do you expect him to handle the paparazzi when he's a Pro Hero? Or the Hero Galas, and events, and stuff like that that he'll be expected to attend? He already sunk his chances at that one interview with Todoroki-kun...

[Ochako shakes her head. It's fine...that's probably something for way, way in the future. Once they actually get home first of all. Best to just let it slide and have fun together now. What's done is done.]

[ A lot of those things he's going to just have to figure out how to manage as time goes on. He's never going to stop trying to improve himself and he knows that all of this is an area of weakness. At the same time, he isn't some social butterfly. He is who he is and people need to accept that too.

However he is going to not disappoint the two losers. A shower and a quick change later, Bakugou is coming back down the stairs from the loft, looking a little grumpy.

Fine, fine. Let's do this thing. ]

[At least they're both used to this, him and Ochako, when dealing with Katsuki. They both know well enough how he ticks. He might be loud and abrasive most of the time but push just enough and it's usually fine. Izuku is much better and rolling with Katsuki's attitude these days, knowing when he actually needs more pushing than not, and well, it worked out! That's all he's glad for.]

I- I know, Uraraka-san. At the same time, I know Kacchan is going to do what he wants to so if we push too hard he's just going to get more annoyed at that fact. ... Although I do wish he'd calm down a little when it comes to doing interviews and things like that. That I think you're right... Ahaha...

[He sighs.]

I know he'll appreciate this, though. I'm glad we did this, and I think it's better with both of us here. Really...

[Team work, okay!!!

When Katsuki returns Izuku is already getting some plates ready for cake.]

Kacchan! Did you want anything to drink with your cake?

[They are indeed, and while neither Ochako nor Izuku would ever force Katsuki to change (and would probably knock anyone who tried to do so's teeth out the back of their skull), they can't just let him have his way. Being friends with multiple people means having to deal with them calling out your bullshit on the regular, and intervening when you're being a goddamn tool, Bakugou. It's a bit of tough love, because for as much as Ochako pokes and prods and teases him...it's mostly done for his own benefit. She cares about him as much as she does any other member of their class - they're all important to her - and she wants to see him succeed, and be the best he possibly can be.]

Of course I know that... I may not have the same history with him as you do, Deku-kun, but...Bakugou-kun is kind of easy to read. [That, and Ochako is just very, very insightful when it comes to her friends. She tends to clue in on their feelings very well, and can pinpoint when something is upsetting them to a T.] But...I am glad he's cooperating, though. I really did just want to spend time with you two, you know. And Bakugou really does deserve to know how special he is. I don't think he sees it in himself as much as he lets on sometimes.

[Bakugou deserves nice things, period. And to know that he's cared about. So, when he comes back, Ochako just beams, but lets Izuku sort of take the lead this time around.]
