[After having been asleep for a full day in Avalon, Yusuke awakes to... something...? licking his face. At first he thinks it must be a dog, but as he opens his eyes and sits up, a white kitsune is furiously wagging her tail with excitement. He doesn't recognise the room he's in at all, and he's sure he'd just returned to his dorm room in Tokyo for the first time in over a month that evening, after a very long and eventful roadtrip across Japan.

Wait, but he does recognise the fox. His confused memories catch up with the present and he stares.]

Artemisia? Is that you...? [She yips, and he tentatively reaches to pat her to make sure she's real. What he hasn't realised, yet, is that it's more than just the two of them there. How is he back here in Avalon, when he could have sworn he was back home again?]

You're finally awake.

[The voice is a little farther but it is undeniably Akechi's as he finishes adjusting his gloves, hair still wet from his shower.]

I found you on the ground about a day ago. I'm surprised your friends haven't come knocking at my door thinking it was bloody murder.

[Yusuke looks as startled to see Akechi as the first day they'd met again here.] Akechi?! But a day ago I was in Yokohama, and then...

[He looks perplexed, and his familiar bumps his hand with her head to get his attention. Apparently she's communicating something in silence to him, because he looks back at Akechi.]

Is this really Camelot? She says I have been here this whole time, but my recollection is very different.

[Yokohama? How can Yusuke even afford that with his uh...budget? He would have asked, but curiosity about the other's words makes him skip out that insult.]

It is...[His own familiar appears behind him, looking amused at the entire situation.] What do you mean, exactly but your recollection being different?

It feels as though I experienced months at home, during which time I had no recollection of this place. But she says it's more that my memories were-- [He stops when he tries to run a hand through his hair and realises it's... damp?]

...Why is my hair wet, Akechi?

[His face kind of feels sore, too, come to think of it.]

And now that I can crawl out of bed for a bit again

[He would ask, but at the same time, he knows his own fate. No use wondering about that now. But he does know Yusuke enough that he isn't the type to lie about something of the sort.

He can't help but smile at that and briefly look away, drying his own. Thankfully there was a towel under the pillow (he didn't want to wet his bed, after all).]

Ahh that, you were out for quite a bit. I attempted to see if throwing water on you would help, as well as try to slap you awake.

[He murmurs, and moves to get out of bed.]

I still feel a little sluggish, but I should be all right. Thank you for taking care of me. [He means that part sincerely, at least, and bows his head to indicate as much -- he never expected Akechi of all people would want to help.]
