vesuvius, are you a ghost? — THE ROAD TO CAMELOT
[ Following her quite literal whirlwind arrival, the crown Princess of Hyrule finds herself taking to the ride with a curious tilt to her mood. She is a strange sight, saddled off into a corner of the vehicle, a tablet in hand. The Sheikah Slate lacks power here, but that doesn't keep her from attempting to get it working again, all the same. If you've taken to staring, she doesn't seem to notice immediately. Zelda's relatively used to people noticing her, so while she certainly makes note of it, stare all you want. She has business to attend to!
Well, until sighing and letting the device sit in her lap. Without a hint of hesitance, she raises her head, gaze a tough hopeful. ] You wouldn't happen to have... a screwdriver, would you? Some sort of tool or...
[ You know. anything to pry it open. ]
Perhaps it needs a charge, of some kind...
or the symbols of light? — NOT-SO HUMBLE BUMBLE
[ Zelda isn't alone this time. Accompanied by a man-sized beast, a golden lynel, she's chosen this particular little quest to sink her teeth into because it sounds quite doable, and very helpful. Still, the decision to assist the springs on this seems to have summoned him by her side. While it lacks the imposing height, it still towers over, and it's a rather comical sight to see— half horse, half lion, a chimera of some sort trailing behind the tiny elf. ]
I've considered our approach to this. [ The admission comes with a gentle expression, a soft smile that's only detectable through the shadows it casts. It's a sheepish look. ] I did some research. Not a large amount, just enough to read about moving bug nests on their own. Many articles recommended a plastic container of some kind and a gentle hand. Have you another suggestion?
[ She's all ears! All big, long, droopy ears. ]
vesuvius, the tragic oath — CAMECON
[ This time, she's alone, again. Thankfully for you. The Princess is enchanted the flurry of gaming she sees before her, and the illusion of Grand Theft Automation is fascinating for her; entranced by how easily she is able to sink into the false world, Zelda only notices that a horse drawn carriage is hurling toward her at the last moment. Of course, it completely slips her mind that this is a virtual reality, so hopefully you can dodge well when, with a shout, the princess unwittingly tosses up a shield that sends the carriage bounding away from her and towards you.
Or, you know. Just stand there. It'll be fine. ]
for you have destroyed — KEEP YOUR VINES TO YOURSELF
[ Spring is a lovely season, with blooms coming in and the weather warming up enough to a pleasant temperature, such as that a walk to acquaint one's self with their surroundings is very tempting. When Zelda decides to venture out in Broceliande, it's in the interest of exploration. She knows her way around and has a iron grip on her position at all times; her sense of direction is totally unparalleled and it is wildly tempting to go out and not be bothered. So often had father sent knights after her, and now, here she is! On her own!
Except her walk is interrupted by that lynel again, and it travels quite closely with her. After the initial shock, she supposed that having one that looked out for her was better than one having it out for her. Still, she bickers with it a bit as they travel. ]
I'm very much fine on my own, as you can see. You can leave me be, it's just another part of town. Plenty of travelers have gone down these parts, and there's nothing that separates them from me. I'm perfectly capable—
[ So, if you're nosey, this the part where you either hear Zelda cry out and a roar from the man-sized beast. Looking toward it, you'll see the elfin girl hanging by... a vine, upside down, as a flurry of them rise up to slither along each other, holding her tight and firm. For it's own part, the lynel seems to be attempting to help, but ripping them to shreds only begets tens more in it's place.
Hopefully you don't make any noise seeing the questionable (and perhaps awfully timed) display, because if you do, upon seeing someone has been behind them, it lets out another roar— this one seems to be so loud it leaves a soundwave in it's wake, splitting branches and bursting vines.
Well.
What do you do? Better think quick, it seems poised to start a fight, as if convinced that you've summoned these vines. ]

[ If none of these tickle your fancy, I'm contactable by PM or private plurk @hagclub! Feel free to hit me up to plot something out, ask a question or anything at all. ❤ If we had a TDM thread I'll be moving it to this post shortly so we can continue it! ]

Keep your Vines to Yourself
[He had thought he heard talking, but then there was the scream. Oh yeah, someone's here.]
[And, taking a chance to head that direction, there she is shortly... and there's another creature. It's shaped like a Jabberwock, but it definitely was not one - and it looks pissed. Though his moogle familiar arrives and chirps a fight might not be good at this time, Zidane has his daggers drawn. That thing couldn't be behind this, right?]
Hey, you better call those vines off!

It's entirely understandable that this is an assumption that could be made. It's also certainly in a Lynel's nature to not back down from a challenge. Spotting those blades, it readies itself for battle, perhaps assuming, too, that Zidane is the source of these vines. Meanwhile, Zelda is trying to wiggle free of the iron grip she's held in. Scared and confused, one of her long ears twitches. ]
You musn't! [ Her voice clear, though not loud, and the expression her presently upside down face wears is one of concern and panic— the two of them fighting would only serve to keep her in the vines longer, but even as she thinks this, the Lynel readies itself for charging. It's hooves scrape along the dirt, and it lets out one more roar. ] The vines— they're unrelated, this my—
[ It's a little late, though, as the Lynel moves, producing a bow and arrow from it's back, and beginning to draw it. One long arrow shoots through the air; a warning shot more than a shot to kill. ]
Familiar! [ The princess' expression slips just a bit, falling into something more regretful and angry for the moment. She had hoped to prevent that. It is not her Lynel she worries for, but the man looking to stop the vines that keep her captive. ]

[The bow's out and again, he's about to attack after the warning shot. The situation is quick to shift from 'attack because this creature's behind the vines' to 'this familiar is protecting its partner' and Zidane might be on the defensive if the familiar didn't back down. Okay, if that's the case...]
... Let me help you free her before we all get stuck here.
[Because the vines? They're still coming. His familiar isn't freaking out about them yet, but it is pretty pissed the other familiar is making assumptions about his partner.]
vesuvius, are you a ghost?
I do. [She reaches into her belt and produces a screwdriver, offering it handle-first to her.]
...What is that thing, Zelda?
no subject
The Sheikah Slate. It's usually quite active, but at the moment, it's very... [ Hum. ] Inactive. [ Tilting her head as she speaks, Zelda taps at the screen again. ] I don't imagine I'll be seeing any shrines in Camelot, no?
no subject
Not shrines from where you're from, no. There are probably small temples, but they'd be dedicated to the local faith. I...haven't even really thought hard about it.
[Settling back, she reaches a hand out to stroke The Dog's head. The Dog being her familiar. A huge black hound with coal-red eyes.]
You don't remember Avalon, do you?
Vines
"Hold on! I'm not an enemy." Oh, but she has her sword out, doesn't she? At least she didn't set it aflame before she rushed on over. "My name is Chris Lightfellow, I'm a knight." She says this to both the strung-up Zelda and the angry Lynel, her gaze swapping between the two quickly. Slowly, so as not to further enrage Zelda's familiar, she sheathes her sword slowly.
"I heard your cry, my lady, and I'm here to help. Are you all right?"
A small, elfin female figure with wings and a dress that suggests a sprig of holly pokes her head up nervously over the knight's shoulder. Unlike Chris, Holly is entirely focused on the lynel.
"C-Careful FC, that one's, um. That one's really big. And angry-looking."
no subject
The Lynel moves it's front leg, readying itself in the same way a horse or bull might for a charge, but Zelda's voice breaks the tension. "If you've means to help me, I ask that you do! Struggling seems to only make it worse!"
In other worse, she's not got a single clue on how to destroy them for the moment. She hopes that Chris' knightly arrival is as fortunate as it can be, and that she might know the way to vanquish them. Time will tell, but Zelda speaking up and seeming willing to allow the help does not, necessarily, calm her familiar. Instead, it only stays in place, hands covered in remnants of dead vines.

The channeling of magic through her sword is easy by now. She passes her hand over the blade, causing it to erupt with a firey sheath as she does so. "Remain still, my lady, this will only take a moment."
The slash just above where Zelda is suspended is textboot; she perhaps feels a whiff of heat as the blade passes over her, and hopefully through the vine, severing it. And with any luck the lynel is in place to save her from getting a bump on the head when it comes down, assuming it listened to Chris' order.
Not so humble bumble!
[Nobunaga's all for letting Zelda cover the planning side, because while he IS good at military tactics, she handled herself well enough with the selkies! And he really wants the honey.]
