Right. Let us go.

[Nanaki is more than okay to go on a good hunt, even with this strange boy. He shakes his head at the question.]

Not exactly. My pack is very, very small. I usually hunt alone.

[There are very few members of his species left, and his opportunities to hunt with others of his kind were rare. And then afterwards, most of his hunting was either solo or alongside Cloud and the others.]

Is your pack a wolf pack? I have not hunted with wolves before.

[wuf]

Yes. Wolf. My family is wolf.

[ They were the most important to him, after all. They were more important than humans. They did more for him than humans, too. They raised him, taught him, and he is alive because of them. So he always returned the favor. ]

Oh. Can hunt with me anytime.

[ He nods. He likes quiet company and this guy seemed like that. He went quiet after he spoke and listened around for any cracks of branches or leaves - or even an animal's voice. ]

Right first.

I appreciate the offer.

[So, this boy was raised by wolves then. How curious... but it seems they've raised him well, given how carefully he hunts. Nanaki turns as well, ears flicking as he listens for those same faint signs of life. He nods.]

Yes. Lead the way.

[ Because he is technically human, he's never been quite as fast as his four-legged companions, but he has kept up alright. After he turns, he keeps forward, attentive as he listens for hints as to how to proceed. He didn't hunt everything out here, of course. Just the things he knew and that he understood would be an appropriate meal. He pauses, and ducks down and looks ahead. ]

I smell rabbit.

[Even if he is just a human, Nanaki notices how skilled Razor moves through the forest, and how he follows the trails laid out for him. When Razor stops so does Nanaki, crouching low and sniffing the air.]

...you're right. The wolves taught you well.

[He creeps forward, ears upright. Just up ahead is a clearing, and within the clearing is a pair of rabbits, grazing on some underbrush.]

Best. Need me to hunt.

[ He was their family, after all. They treated him well, like they would any other wolf. Even though they definitely seemed to have a clear understanding that he technically wasn't one. And not everything he learned was from them, some of it was simply figuring things out when he was on the go.

He shifts forward, watching rabbits. He quietly sets down his weapon so that there's no noise in his pursuit of catching rabbits. ]

Need to be on own sometimes.

[ His voice is hushed. ]

[Nanaki nods in understanding; even pack animals had to learn to hunt on their own, in case they were separated. And as they creep closer, Nanaki's mindset shifts to hunt mode as he watches the rabbits forage.]

How would you like to strike?

[He'll leave leading this hunt to Razor, since Nanaki did sort of invite himself along for this hunt.]

Um - [ Razor isn't good with words. He never has been. His method is low and slow. Leave unnecessary items behind in the bushes when he approaches so he doesn't make any unnecessary noises. He gets low to the ground as he moves forward. Yes, he's going to hunt in the most wolf-like way he knows, with his bare hands. He'll snatch it up right between his fingers and snap the rabbit's neck once he has his hands on it so it can't do a thing. Or he'll send a small shock straight to its heart with electricity. He'll know once he has it in his hands.

Maybe he should consider getting good with a bow and arrow, but it's not necessary now. ]

[When Razor hesitates, Nanaki turns back to the rabbits. Hmm... perhaps his hunting style was more suited to solo? And by the sounds of it, he isn't very good with words, so it would probably be difficult for him to explain... he turns back to Razor, nodding.]
