[ It'd been a tiring day. Taichi still wasn't 100% sure about how to deal with Sougo not remembering him, and it frankly made him a little less tolerant of his shenanigans (if only because he knew that the friendship they'd built wasn't there to take the edge off of the bullying for him) but probably not enough to be too noticeable. Particularly given that he said Sougo could stay with him while the inn was flooded!
...Even if that meant immediately losing access to the bed he just went through so much to get!! u_u He's in the middle of standing at the foot of the bed and trying to argue his way into being allowed some space (even if it will probably end up being at the foot of the bed) when the doorbell goes off, and Taichi sighs and heads down to open the door, a surprised look on his face when he sees who it is. ]

[ He immediately looks more excited than exasperated now-- if he had a tail, it would be wagging. He clearly hasn't realized the situation he is in yet. ]

He gives Taichi a quick kiss and comes in without even being invited in, talking about what he wants to do (without even asking if Taichi would want to).] I found that one director's other movies? Apparently, the guy also did a post-war romance film and I got to see that. [He's heading towards the bed, still talking.] We could order in? I'll even let youβ[He trails off as he finally sees Sougo and really, what is a boy to do when there's another guy in his boyfriend's bed?]

[Hikaru's tone drops to a cold, irritated one and he's glaring, jealousy already flaring up because seriously, there's another guy in his boyfriend's bed and Hikaru has never been known for his rationality.]

Even if Taichi's loft was a little sparse for now, it was still nicer than what Sougo had experienced in the countryside and in Shinsengumi HQ. He wants to be a spoiled little sadist taking over the bed that he contributed absolutely nothing to. But he's thankful, really!
He wasn't planning on budging from the bed--and despite Taichi's protestations, the dog boy still came across as a pushover to Sougo. So he had figured it would be a relaxing afternoon of bullying Taichi when this new visitor comes in. Sougo lazily waves in response to Hikaru, still content in Taichi's bed.]
Did I steal your spot? Taichi-kun, are you taking in everyone who got flooded?
[These two OBVIOUSLY kissed, but Sougo wants to gauge the situation more, see what he can get away with. Your move, Taichi.]

Hikaru, that's Okita Sougo. I knew him back in Lunatia. He doesn't remember that, but we were friends and the inn flooded so I didn't want to leave him hanging! [ He raises his voice to talk to OkitA. ] This is Hikaru!

I'm his boyfriend. [Since Taichi didn't say so and it annoys Hikaru that Taichi didn't introduce him like that. In his mind, there's some reason as he jumps to conclusions. Taichi may be trying to make sure nothing escalates but Hikaru always goes from one extreme to another in situations like this.]
Do you not know how to use stairs or something? The inn has more than one floor. Or can you only use stairs when it gets you into somebody else's bed?

[Is he insinuating something? Yes, as long as the reactions are entertaining. While Taichi wants to avoid conflict as much as possible, Sougo wants to sow the seeds of discord. Even with Hikaru's increasing frustration, Sougo remains cool, casually answering as if someone asked him about the weather. He still has his arms behind his head and his legs crossed. He's not leaving the bed anytime soon.]
Besides, he offered a place to stay. So I'm staying in it.
[Taichi didn't offer his literal bed, but purposefully twisting someone else's words to your advantage is a classic asshole move that Sougo is all too happy to use. Taichi's eagerness to befriend him still confuses Sougo, but at least it comes with certain benefits. But not those kinds of benefits, Hikaru. Hey, if the boyfriend turns out to be the easily riled up type, that's another benefit.]

Unless it's around this guy apparently. When Hikaru looks around, he doesn't see the love letter. Hikaru's mind jumps to he doesn't want this guy to see the love letter if he didn't know Taichi had a boyfriend.
If Hikaru were to calm down then he would see a troll because he's a troll. But right now, he's just growing more and more irritated, jealous, and he's rising to the bait.]
He never told me about you, either. Funny. [And there's a glare pointed to Taichi this time and then crosses his arms.] So he offered his bed to you or did you just decide to take it for yourself?

[Turning to Hikaru, Sougo feigns a look of confusion.]
Was he--[Sougo points to Taichi]--supposed to tell you about me? Are you supposed to know 'bout all his friends? Aaaah, Taichi-kun, don't be a disobedient sub.
Anyways, where else am I supposed to sleep? There's no other beds here.
[Well, there are the bean bags, but those aren't comfy enough for the little sadist. He probably could if forced, but sleeping in someone's bed and annoying them is a lot more fun.]

Okita-sama is a member of the shinsengumi, but like a messed up version with bazookas and a huge sadist, which is why I hid my love letter when he came over so it didn't get caught in the crossfire! I forgot since I'm used to it always being where I can see it, heh...
[ Anyway, Taichi moves to try to hold Hikaru's hand, his voice lowered so it's obvious he's just talking to Hikaru and trying to ignore Sougo being a pain in the ass right now. He knows Sougo's trying to make it worse, that's how the Sougo do. ]
He was my friend in Prismatica, but he doesn't remember that here, and I talked to him a couple of times and tried to get him to, so that's why he came here when the inn flooded. And the closest we ever got to doing anything in Prismatica was with the chromawear yukatas, he just helped me get it on and tied it way too tight. I wasn't into him, and I'm not gonna sleep in the bed while he's in it, I can sleep on the floor, promise! He's a 10,000% platonic friend-turned-acquaintance who doesn't remember me. Please don't be mad at me.
[ More than anything he.. really, really doesn't like Hikaru glaring at him, and he kind of feels like it's his fault somehow and he's panicking and rambling too much. ]

All Hikaru knows is he doesn't like the implications he's assuming. Taichi tells him about so many people and things. Why not this guy? Especially if he liked this guy enough to offer his place to him. Even though, really, Taichi would offer anything to anybody if it meant any sort of attention. Although Hikaru doesn't really like that either but he's been trying to not get angry over that. Oops. So much for that.
Also, seriously, if Hikaru wasn't in his jealous and bratty mode then he'd definitely be reacting to the shinsengumi and bazookas bit because what. But right now, it's like everything's in one ear and out the other.]
Why are you even wording it like that? 'The closest you got'? So what, there was something going on? Who even said anything about that? [Hikaru did. Hikaru literally made that implication but he's being unreasonable. He takes his hand from Taichi's, crossing his arms, and looks to Sougo.] And if he doesn't remember you then what does he even matter? Unless you like military otaku.
[Hikaru's immaturity shines as brightly as Taichi's maturity right now.]

[Of course, Taichi may want to take the high road, but Sougo won't stop luring him to the dark side. That's how the Sougo do.]

[ Taichi at least gets a little bit annoyed about it. He's got a lot of self-esteem issues and will kick his own ass if he's actually at fault, but in this case.. in this case, he's trying to explain, and Hikaru's twisting it. And Taichi does have a few defensive bones in his body when it's not completely his fault, especially when he's being encouraged to do so because Taichi gains backbone from support. ]
What does it matter if Okita-sam borrows my bed for a couple of nights because his place was flooded? I'm not going to be in the bed, so you I'm not even going as far as you have sleeping with other people! [ He is of course referring to his very confusing conversation with Tamaki, which he had been willing to let go because it sounded like it was in the past but it's way less than anything he and Sougo have done?? ]

[Their first fight and it's over Sougo, in front of Sougo. Not the best person for them to be fighting about and later, Hikaru will realize exactly how bad of an idea this is.]

[Sougo grabs his sword from the edge of the bed and holds it up. He had brought his sword partly out of habit, partly just in case. But it's more fun to let Hikaru's imagination go wild and fill in the blanks with ideas of some sort of swordplay. In any case, he's not shutting up. It's his obligation as the sole member of the peanut gallery.]
Eeeeh, Taichi's boyfriend is being so rude. How can you accuse someone else of being weird when you're doing it with your twin?
[If only Sougo knew what Hikaru and Kaoru do for the Host Club...Right now he's feeling like he stumbled into a BL drama.]

[ But if Hikaru is freaking out this badly, maybe it's because he's covering up for something?! Taichi doesn't know, but he doesn't like that he's acting like Kaoru was the only one he was sleeping with either...
Then Sougo threatens(?) Him with the sword and Taichi tenses up, looking like he's not sure if he can hide behind Hikaru right now like he wants to. He definitely can't, so he just yells ]
I wouldn't do anything with a sword, isn't that proof enough?!

What kind of weirdo thinks I'm doing it with my twin?! [You're only allowed to think that if Hikaru wants you think that thanks.] And mind your business and stay out of it! [Says the guy having this fight in front of Sougo because really, how is it not Sougo's business at this point?
But getting it from Taichi and Sougo is starting to get to him more.] And when did I sleep with Tono?! [It was ages ago and really, Hikaru had promptly forgotten about it once Kaoru had come to Prismatica. Either way, he's getting fed up.]
Why am I having to deal with this? Why are you letting him talk to me like that if I supposedly matter more?! He's trying to piss me off and you're letting him! I don't like it or him so you shouldn't keep him here! [The hard part about dating a rich brat is that he does just expect the world to bend to him a lot. And with Hikaru, he's still learning to share and still gets jealous when his friends have other friends, let alone his boyfriend having some friendship that mattered to him that Hikaru didn't know about. He's jealous, like a child would be.
And the goalposts of what Taichi's being expected to do in this relationship keeps changing and it's unfair. But as the expectations are changing, Hikaru's just growing in irritation and his voice is rising.] Why are you pointing any fingers at me when you're the one apparently letting guys just come to your place and spend the night without even telling me? Why wouldn't you even tell me you were letting somebody stay at your place? Why are you acting like I'm not supposed to be annoyed about this? Why do you even care about some guy that doesn't even remember you and doesn't matter! I thought I mattered! [That part was practically yelled and Hikaru is starting to angry cry and that's never a good sign. It's also embarrassing because yeah, Sougo's right over there.]
You know what? I don't care. Do whatever you want! [And with that, he's promptly leaving Taichi's place and into the pouring rain and he'll get home and cry to Kaoru who will tell him he acted like an idiot and then Hikaru will cry some more about what an idiot he just was.
Anyway have a fun sleepover after that one, guys.]

[Sougo scratches his head in mock confusion. As Hikaru begins to rant, Sougo then digs into his pockets for his earbuds. He plugs them into his sword-mp3 player hybrid then listens to his music. Hey, Hikaru told him to stay out of it. Besides, it seems like Hikaru's anger is for Taichi. Not Sougo's problem. Not that he isn't enjoying seeing someone angry but who even is Tono? Did other versions of Japan still have lords?...Once again, not his problem.
(Even though he's the reason they're fighting like this.)
Even as Sougo tries his best to disrespect Hikaru, it's not like he's one to talk. What's the origin of his entire vendetta against Hijikata if not jealousy? Hijikata was going to take Kondou and Mitsuba away from little Sougo, and he would never let Hijikata forget it, pettiness be damned. This connection lingers at the back of his mind, but he stamps it back down.
But eventually, Hikaru finishes his tantrum. Sougo then puts down his earbuds and sits up on the bed to watch Hikaru run out of the apartment.]
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
[The perfect sleepover appetizer for Sougo. It may be a different story for Taichi, though.]

[Taichi had all the time in the world when Hikaru was ranting and raving! If Taichi wanted to stand up for himself, shouldn't he have fired back? Not that Sougo thinks a fight is a big deal. This is a guy who constantly tries to kill one of his closest comrades and it's kind of their "thing", a guy who is frequently shipped with the girl he constantly antagonizes. It is a natural result of his sadism coloring almost all of his close relationships.
Now that the bed is safe, though, he finally gets up and goes downstairs to rummage Taichi's drawers and fridge for food. True, one wouldn't want to have a heart-to-heart with Sougo. But if Taichi is like a dog, then Sougo is like a cat. He purposefully won't follow what you say and will just nap all day, but he's fine with just hanging out in the same space and mouthing off.]

[ Taichi is going to pick up the other bean bag after that comment. D:< He holds it over his head like he's about to hulk smash but then just throws it on the bed in front of him and face-flops into the bean bag.
Taichi really doesn't own much at this point, so Sougo won't find anything and he just stays facedown in the bean bag for a moment and lets him go through his stuff. He'll only say something if he goes near where his letter is.. ]
