π§ WHO: Jade & various! βοΈοΈ WHAT: Quests and other closed threads. π WHEN: Throughout April. πΊοΈ WHERE: Various. β οΈ WARNINGS: N/A, will edit if it changes.
[Jade has been itching to return to this place and investigate it further ever since she had first run reconnaissance with Alisaie. They'd managed to keep their hands clean that time, for better or for worse, and while that mission had been technically successful, it had all felt a bit lacking in the end.
This, on the other hand? Getting to dive in and not having to worry about avoiding the inhabitants sounded much more like her idea of a good time, and there was a competition angle involved. Perfect.
They've made their way to the entrance of the labyrinth beneath the library already, and Jade looks over to her companion and offers a grin even as she tightens her gloves at the wrist.]
A pie for thirty slimes, I believe the deal was. Well, I think we can do much better than that.
[They're practically slime-killing experts. She can only hope the quest giver has enough pies to meet their demands.
Dessert and violence are both involved. She will not be spurned.]
More or less. Fewer sliding shelves— as far as I know.
[She and Alisaie hadn't been able to go in too deep without risk of getting caught, after all, but she wouldn't be surprised to see some of that here, as well.]
Hopefully fewer dragons, as well. Not that we can't handle them, but they tend to make such a mess, and books are terribly flammable.
[Anyway, they got this! She'll start forward, beckoning for him to follow.]
Shall we see which of us can rack up a higher kill count?
[She'll take it! Winning is its own reward, anyway.]
Coffee it is!
[They may not be high stakes, but the competition itself is the real attraction here. The corridor ahead of them opens up, branching off in two different directions, and while there are no enemies within their immediate line of sight, she can hear movement to their right. She inclines her head before heading in that direction at a fast clip, assuming that at least a few slimes will await them around the bend.]
I haven't seen any before now, but how difficult can they be?
[She keeps her own voice low in turn, even as they move swiftly down the corridor. Ahead, a sound that can only be described as wiggly echoes off the walls, and a bright green slime hops into view.
It's not as cute as the ones from home, certainly, and looks like it might actually be wet to the touch, but there's no mistaking it— and where one slime goes, others are sure to follow.]

The smile he gives Jade nearly sparkles.]
You know the way around down here, right? 'Cause I don't.

[Famous last words, though she's beaming at her companion in a way that radiates confidence. What are slimes to the two of them?
They have this in the bag.]
Once you've seen one labyrinth, you've seen them all. This one just happens to be full of books.

So it's the Royal Library all over again?
Oh, no, this one doesn't have rotating stairs too, does it? Those things made me all cross-eyed.

[HEALTHY COMPETITION]
(sorry for the wait!)
Yeah. Loser has to buy the winner, uhm... Coffee.
[Look, he's been doing odd jobs but he doesn't have much money.
Saying this he moves ahead and peers around, not sure what to expect exactly, but confident he has the basic idea.]

In a hushed whisper he asks...]
So what're the slimes around here like?

Oi!
[He calls out, not to Jade, but to the slime.]
How many more of you are there?
