Avalon Fashion Show
🧙 WHO: Everyone who turns up!
⚔️️ WHAT: Mukuro attempts to host a fashion show and all of Avalon is invited
🕒 WHEN: Sunday 4th April, Afternoon - Evening
🗺️ WHERE: A rented hall in town
⚠️ WARNINGS: None, will update as needed.
BEFORE THE SHOW
Kind volunteers around Avalon have been recruited to help decorate the hall- To get the catwalk, lights and the various areas to showcase the clothes all ready. A popup bar serving both alcoholic and soft drinks has been set up, with a table set out ready for nibbles later. The hall itself has been given something of a spring theme, but...
Despite the whole thing being run like a military operation, the decor choices were a little mix and match. The pink camo bunting around the walls made for an interesting combination with the spring flowers theme, that was for sure.
FASHION SHOW PART 1: SPRING WEAR
The first half of the show was devoted to late spring fashion, looking at cute and stylish daily wear!
It follows a pretty simple format of the models- some recruited ahead of time, some dragged in from the street and 'volunteered' at the last minute- strutting their stuff along the catwalk in turn along to some appropriate background music, with... some of the outfits definitely more coordinated than others. It is clear which ones were designed by people who knew exactly what they were doing, and which ones were designed by those who were making lucky guesses.
Or, you know, it could just be a really interesting new fashion choice, who knows?
If anyone wants more time to showcase their designs as part of a range or suchlike, they're welcome to take to the stage for a short segment to do just that.
MIDSHOW BREAK: MINGLING
After the first half of the show, there's time for mingling. Any lucky volunteers who want to get involved can help carry around trays of drinks or food to the guests. Otherwise, there's plenty of time to chat, get to know other people at the event and enjoy the nibbles. And perhaps question some of the odd fashion/decoration choices.
No, minors will not be served alcohol. Don't get the poor venue in trouble, it did nothing to deserve this wreck!
FASHION SHOW PART 2: EVENING WEAR
Following on from the Masquerade, the second half of the show is focusing on formal wear- lots of beautiful dresses, dashing tuxes and everything in between. As before, models have either been recruited beforehand or just dragged in, and some of the outfits are significantly more well-matched than others. There's more of a classical style of background music for this part, just to show how classy it all is, you know?
Like in the first half, anyone is welcome to take a slot to showcase their range of designs if they so choose - take to the stage!
AFTER THE SHOW
The venue isn't open all night, but there's time for another round of drinks and chatting once the stage has been cleared away.
Once people start filing out, the volunteers will be recruited to help clear up the place- hopefully no one will leave too much of a mess, but hey, at least organisation is a little cooled down this time around. It seems the commander has finally run out of steam...
BACKSTAGE
Of course, people involved in the event are welcome 'backstage' at any point- although it's mostly just a changing area hidden by a curtain at the back of the stage. There's a few pop-up changing rooms, chairs and full length mirrors back here, so at least the models have their privacy. Bottled water and protein bar type snacks are also provided.
