[Rei clicks his tongue in distaste, then stoops to gather Princess into his arms. (She squawks in protest, but obediently takes up her post on his shoulder as Rei straightens up again.)

His voice hardens.]

Look. One of us here got filleted like a fish, and it wasn't me. Worry about yourself.

[Having someone as delicate as Doppo worry after him feels... pitying.]

[Doppo had been finally picking himself up off the ground-slowly, very slowly because the world was still spinning-but still flinched at the tone in Rei's voice. That was something that would never change, most likely.]

I-I'm fine-I mean, I have Sensei and Hifumi worrying about me, but I don't know...if you have anyone.....

[Suddenly it felt like something he shouldn't be saying. Rei seemed fine, didn't he? But that was still one hell of a traumatic situation to come out to, literally holding Doppo together so he didn't die. And compounded on the fact that he knew Rosho somehow.]

Princess chatters angrily as she flaps her wings to keep balance on his shoulder, though whether her scolding is from inconveniencing Rei or is just out of concern for Doppo is anyone's guess.]
