🧙 WHO: Hawk and anyone! All prompts are OTA.
⚔️️ WHAT: Catch-all
🕒 WHEN: Throughout March
🗺️ WHERE: All over Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: Violence and possible spoilers for Ys IX. Will edit if more comes up.
A - Arriving in town
[Hawk wasn't exactly a stranger to being summoned away from a good drink. That was just life as a Monstrum. What was different this time was that there were no creepy red moons, dead looking land or lemures to fight. Instead it was a nice dunking that he really didn't want and a feeling of something just being off along with the disappointment that there won't be a good fight to be had.
And a familiar that has decided it really likes perching on his head. Can't forget that new annoyance. Not long after arriving in the city someone may catch him trying to get the blue-black feathered hawk to stop perching on his head.]
Get off me, you damn bird!
[And with that his fury reaches a level that causes him to accidentally summon a pretty strong gust of wind. Between that and dealing with his familiar, he's thrown off balance and while he tries to regain his balance, it's not enough to prevent him from falling face first into the ground.
At least the bird isn't on his head now. It flew up when it sensed the wind coming and then landed on on his butt. Hawk doesn't exactly care what happens to it and quickly gets up, but he's down for long enough that someone probably saw that. The bird will then resume perching on his head and this time Hawk is just going to let it be. Stupid bird.]
B - Wanna fight?
[Hawk being Hawk, he's not going to exactly be able to go long without a fight under normal circumstances. With this darkness threatening to consume him, he's even more itchy for one. So does your character have a weapon or otherwise look capable of giving a good fight? Well, they are about to get a challenge. He'll be looking in the training grounds and other less populated areas mostly.]
So what do you say to having a bit of fun? My sword against your weapon. Entertain me and I may even let you walk away afterwards.
[He's already got his swords drawn and is ready to go. He won't pursue anyone who runs though, he's just looking to goad someone into fighting him that can possibly match his skill. I'm good with some injuries, feel free to PM or PP me to discuss further on this.]
C - Training Grounds
[This is actually the first time in his life that Hawk found himself not being immediately good at something he tried to do, well besides fighting. Normally he'd try something new and master it right away and then be bored. Instead he tried this and clearly had some talent, but bit himself in the ass with it. It wasn't the same as fighting, but damn it was a rush knowing that using this magic could help him or hurt him and it could make a fight more interesting with that extra thrill. Even using his gift was a risk now because he had to use magic to control his descent rather than just the wings. That he already learned the hard way.
So at various times he can be found trying to practice magic. He's working mostly on effects with air and wind since that's what he has the most affinity with. He'll be trying to aim gusts of wind at targets, with mixed results. Sometimes he's successful, other times it blows back at him or someone else. Other times he can also be seen trying to practice a means to duplicate what his Gift did. While it's not true flight like someone with kinetic magic, he's trying to make use of air magic and his wings to slow his descent like his gift would have done back home. That also has mixed results, but oddly enough despite those mixed results he actually seems to be enjoying himself, as much as he's capable of at least. It might be a bit weird to see someone smiling after failing though.
Feel free to come upon him and offer assistance, or maybe to practice some healing magic on the bruises he's going to have. Or maybe your character gets hit with one of his failures. Did he screw up something your character was doing or flip a girl's skirt up or something else embarrassing? I'm open to some creativity for failed attempts at magic here.]
Wildcard
[Want to try something not listed? Feel free to come up with your own prompt or PM or PP me to run past an idea with me! Also would be cool with migrating TDM threads here for anyone who wants to continue them or doing something new based on a TDM prompt.]

B
And he knows this person and he's definitely curious about their skills.
He draws his sword, golden and very pretty. It looks ornamental but no, just because it looks pretty doesn't mean that it isn't just as sharp.]
If you are able to walk away from the King of Egypt, Set of the Deserts and Storms then consider yourself lucky. [He won't kill him. He's gotten better about that!]
no subject
Not sure where Egypt is, but I'm sure walking away won't be a problem.
no subject
Which is exactly what Set does as he charges forward without much warning. A skilled fighter will be able to meet his blade head on and block him.]
no subject
Now normally he'd open up by attacking low and looking to disable, but that is more typical of him dealing with an opponent he knows to be weak. Since Set is unknown and has a good potential to be interesting, he'll respect that and actually go for blocking with both of his blades. Hawk's movements are definitely fast, but his strength is nothing to sneeze at either. It also helps that he's dealing with very minimal power loss and has years of experience fighting as a human before he gained his powers. He definitely won't be easy to overpower, though it is possible.]
no subject
So here he is. Even if he's human, he's still a strong human. He had still been training his body every day to fight but right now, he's relying on his strength and skill with his blade. He knows how to use his sword as he attempts another swing.]
no subject
B
Let me walk away?
no subject
Well, you could try walking away but most I find weak have trouble doing so. However, I'm feeling generous. If you think you're too weak or don't want to fight with a real weapon, then you can walk away right now.
no subject
You're pretty confident, aren't you?
[Did he sound annoyed? Because he was... hitting the right buttons would definitely get Keith going. He wasn't as 'zen' as he tried to be.]
no subject
Only someone weak would lack confidence and I'm not weak.
no subject
So, you're just being oh so gracious by letting people walk away if they lose... how nice of you. [He crossed his arms, the sword attached at his hip pretty visible now with the emblem on the hilt and the line tracing along the blade's edge both glowing an ultraviolet color. Keith didn't look very impressed.] You realize you sound like a jerk, right?
no subject
[But even if he think he's right that Keith could be a good fight, Hawk is quickly growing bored of this and at this point he'd rather find someone more easily goaded or willing.]
But looks like you're only capable of boring me, so you get off easy.
[And with that, he's going to use a quick wind spell and a jump and propel himself to the nearest rooftop. It's not as graceful of an exit as he'd wished since he has to grab the roof and pull himself up the rest of the way but better than climbing. He's not the sort to outright start a fight and is far too used to finding willing prey without an issue. Maybe he'd just grown a bit too complacent because his colorful reputation in his world brought all sorts of prey right to him.
Still, he's not exactly making a move to leave the area quite yet.]
no subject
I don't know. Talking tough, but can't even get yourself to the top of the building in your own showy exit. Sounds to me like you're a lot more talk than actual fight.
[Yeah, Keith sounded cocky in response.]
I'd rather be a bore than someone who can't actually finish his own tricks.
[Keith honestly didn't care if someone called his own skills into question anymore. He knew his strengths and weaknesses well enough to be secure about them. But, if someone were to, say, insult his parents... Keith had a very specific set of triggers to get him angry.]
no subject
That's because I'm better at letting my swords do the talking than doing magic tricks. At least I'm not about to be a wet blanket.
[And with that, Hawk is just going to run off via the rooftops.]
no subject
Still, he was definitely annoyed now. He grit his teeth together and shoved his hands to the side, sending that gust of air after his tormenter with the goal of knocking him off his feet during a jump between rooftops.]
no subject
He laughs in response. At least this is mildly amusing because few would actually attempt pursuit. Will Keith continue to try and stop him? Maybe another attempt will work better or he could try to climb up too.]
no subject
C
Whoa, what??
[Instinctively, Sagi manifests his own pair of ghostly bird wings as he recoils out of the way. His gloves are now dripping with green smoothie, but he's still awkwardly holding onto the cup for lack of anything better to do with it. Just as awkwardly, it means he can't offer the man a hand up right away the way he normally would.]
Are you all right? What happened?
[Sagi thinks he's pretty well acquainted with rough landings - he hasn't thought to dismiss his wings again just yet, so they remain visible on his back, translucent and shimmering - and that sure looked like one to him. But the guy is... grinning about it? That's kind of weird.]
no subject
because he's definitely a masochist. But his wings vanish as he hits the ground since they always do upon landing even if it's lacking in grace. He's not going to take the offered hand, because screw physical contact even if he's wearing gloves. He can deal with a few bruises, even the one to his ego. He's still grinning and even laughs a bit.]
Of course I'm fine. A little thing like that ain't enough to keep me down long.
no subject
[Speaking of messy, his instinct is now to just dismiss his own wings, find somewhere to rinse off his gloves and go about the rest of his day. He manages the first of those without much conscious thought - they shimmer once more, then disappear in a puff of spectral feathers - but a slight twinge of teenage self-consciousness stops him before he can carry on.]
Sorry for staring. I hadn't seen anyone else with wings around here yet.
[Though his gut feeling is that it's pure coincidence. He'd sense something if those were heart-wings, he thinks, despite not a shred of evidence to support that since this world dragged him out here.]
no subject
I don't mind. I'm used to stares, pointing, screaming in terror, and so on. They're unusual where I come from too.
no subject
no subject
no subject
Well, if the crash-landings are a habit, then... yeah.
[His tone is light enough that he clearly doesn't mean anything by it. He's just some kid. And, admittedly, if he antagonises this prickly-sounding man, he won't get to ask -]
What were you trying to do, anyway?
no subject
no subject
[Natural and casual things to say about your own wings while holding a smoothie.]
If it happened to you too, I guess it's just a thing that happens. Maybe some kind of side effect. It's been hard to get used to, whatever it is.
[He sounds apologetic for gawking, again.]
C
Such was the case today as he did magic practice at the training grounds. He was beginning to learn that he could do more with healing magic than just healing, so he was working on just that. Like increasing one's strength with it! Today's training was just that, using his magic to increase his own strength and then testing the differences.
But during one of his tests, something unexpected happens. One of Hawk's rogue wind blasts hits him, and at first, seemingly nothing happens, the wind spell harmlessly dissipating.
...And suddenly, without warning, it launches him into the air. He lets out a sharp yelp as he's carried high into the sky, above Hawk.]
Re: C
But damn, that one was quite the screw up. Didn't know he could do that yet.]
Well, shit. Didn't see that comin'
[Still, even though Hawk is generally a bit of an asshole at the best of times, strangely enough he's not the sort to want others to get hurt unless he's fighting them. He is able to think of an idea that has a good potential to not screw up (hopefully). He tries to quickly cast another spell to create a cushion made of air where he estimates Bennett will land. And Hawk will definitely be ensuring he isn't landed on. Of course there is room for this to not work and more bad luck to happen!]
no subject
Whoa... Nice save.
no subject
Least I can do after screwin' it up like that. [And that is going to be the closest to an apology Hawk is going to give.]
no subject
[Bennett gets up off the ground, duating himself off.]
That was probably just a case of my bad luck striking again. I should consider myself lucky it didn't blow me away to somewhere else entirely!
no subject
Sounds like you're lucky I prefer wind over fire then.
no subject
[Bennett didn't sound the least bit bothered by it. Sometimes you just catch on fire, right?
But what he is bothered by is the bruises he notices on Hawk's body.]
Hey, you're pretty injured. Let me heal you up, as thanks for not letting me break my neck!
no subject
You sure you didn't hit your head there or somethin'?
no subject
Mmm, nope. No blood, so not this time.
["this time", he says.]
Why do you ask?
no subject
[And been attacked many times out of revenge for him beating the crap out of someone who attacked him first.]
Just find it strange that someone would be so quick to blame themselves instead of me.
no subject
Haha, you've just described my life in a nutshell, buddy. My luck's so terrible, it can only be called a curse, and if something bad happens while I'm around, I'm always the first to get blamed for it. And that's not even getting into the stuff that happens to me.
[Bennett just shrugs, shaking his head.]
I'm just used to bad things happening to me, so there's no point in me pointing fingers at somebody. It's easy to just shrug it off and move on, you know?
no subject
[And then he grins, his tone now is a bit more teasing.]
But if your luck's that bad, maybe I should decline your offer. Might make it worse and I can live with a few bruises. It's a good reminder that for once I suck at something.
no subject
Well, considering you saved me from breaking my neck there, I think you're pretty safe on the whole "trying to kill me" front.
[Was it Hawk's fault that Bennett ended up in a situation where he could have broken his neck in the first place? Arguably, yes (though Bennett will insist that was his bad luck's doing), but he took responsibility and tried to prevent disaster, so it's all good in Bennett's book.]
Oh... [Bennett frowns hearing Hawk's words there, not picking up on his teasing. He hangs his head.] You're... probably right... I haven't had too many accidents when it comes to my magic, but it'd be just my luck that something would go wrong when I want to use it to help somebody else.
[Most of his healing has been self-inflicted.]
no subject
Damn it, I really do suck at this sort of thing. It was a joke. I just don't get how to deal with people being all nice and I've never been one to like being around others. Gettin' all touchy-feely and using magic on me just weirds me out.
no subject
[He wasn't sure about that but you never know! It could happen!]
I wanted to pay you back for saving me like that, but I don't want to cause trouble for you. You'll just have to accept my gratitude instead.
no subject
no subject
Sure, we'll call it even. [This guy seems pretty deadset on it, anyway, he doesn't really want to argue about it.]
At least let me give you my name. I'm Bennett!
