🧙 WHO: Stella and anybody who wants to stop by!
⚔️️ WHAT: Stella's been talking about starting a club/group for musically inclined folks in Avalon and it's time to actually get on that! She's put out a network post about a preliminary meeting to interest check and uhh this is that meeting.
🕒 WHEN: March 11th, around noon-ish
🗺️ WHERE: The Phoenix Roost cafe
⚠️ WARNINGS: None that I'm aware of!

So with uh, everything that's been going on around Avalon lately, Stella hasn't had a lot of time to put thought into her genius plan to get this group going. She's been meaning to get around to it but you know. Priorities and all that. But things seem to be kind of getting back on track and with Violet here and the Valentine's concert having gone so well, she's feeling energized! On the ball! That kind of thing.

Which is why it takes her two weeks to actually set the whole meeting up. She's doing her best, alright?!

She shoots out a quick video post to the network, basically just advertising the whole thing - it's a group for people who like music, whether that's performing it, writing it, or just listening to it. She's not picky. She gives everyone the time, the date and the place and then gives them the most important request: come up with a cool name for their little group because she's clean out.

Come the eleventh, and Stella's parked herself at Phoenix Roost with her phone, some obscenely sweet drink and some sweets from the cafe that she's anxiously munching her way through. Someone's bound to show up to say hi, right?

[ NOTE: Since this is a mingle post, feel free to tag around and hit up everybody's toplevels and just have a good ol' chaotic time! Stella will have a toplevel for talking about music group stuff but otherwise, we're just vibin'. ]

[ The instant, nay, the very microsecond Stella realizes someone's here for the group, she jolts up in delight so hard that she very nearly upsets her fancy drink everywhere. It's fine. Don't worry about it. ]

Oh heck yeah, you're here for the meeting! C'mon, sit down, and let's talk about it! I'm still kinda figuring all this group stuff out, so I wanna hear what everybody thinks we should do!

[During a lull in the proceedings, Rei approaches the pinkest-looking girl in the group.]

You must be Stella-chan, yeah? [Bright. Loud. Doesn't stay in her chair for very long. Looks like she would text with mostly exclamation points.] Glad you all made it to the Roost.

Yup, that's me!

[ This must be................. iPhone Guy. A teenager with more angst might be tempted to declare him an Enemy for Life but thankfully, Stella's energy has been redirected elsewhere. ... for the most part. ]

I dunno who exactly's showing up, but I posted about it online so we're bound to get at least a couple people!

That so? I hope it goes well for ya, then.

Name's Rei. [Perching his sunglasses on his head with one hand, Rei holds out the other for her to shake.] If you want to use the stage downstairs, just yell.

[ Believe it or not, Stella does initially plan to shake his hand like a normal person but once he makes the offer of letting them use the stage, her excitement takes over and she seizes his hand in both of hers. ]

Ohmigod, could we really? Would that be okay?!

[Rei laughs, despite himself. Stella's certainly a perky one.]

By all means. Just leave the technical equipment alone, unless you really know what you're doing. [He nods in the direction of the stairs.] It's not in use during the day, so you might as well.

'Sides, [Rei looks down at her again. She's a bit young.. but that's usual for idols, right?] you're a performer yourself, aren't you? And I imagine most of the club is, too. If there's a chance we'll be working together, it's better to establish a good rapport early on, don't you think?

Oh, for sure! I mean, it's kind of wild just running loose and doing all this stuff for myself since we've got managers and whatever for that kind of thing. But I think working it all out for myself is gonna be a pretty fun experience!

[ You're officially forgiven for your emails, Rei. For now.

Releasing his hands, Stella bounds over to the stairs and peers down them, trying to get a gauge for how big the performance space is. ]

How many people usually fit down there? Like, a hundred or something, right?

[A group gathering for all things music and song? It's like a large neon sign calling out to Venti and he can't resist the call of music. The flashier the better- But he has learned that there are some styles of music he doesn't quite know yet in this world. And that in itself is exciting to him.

He peeks inside and announces,]

Yahoo~ Is this the gathering for all the musically gifted folk?

[ Stella immediately gives him an enthusiastic, two-handed wave. ]

Yup, that's us! Come in and grab a seat – I'm so stoked you came!

Oh, thank you! Don't mind if I do!

[He's going to prance right in and take a seat. This place is ... wonderful!]

Was this entirely your idea, miss?

Yeah, kinda! I talked about it with a couple friends a while back and got the idea then. I just thought, since there's so many of us right now who are super into music, it'd be a good idea to kind of get everybody face to face once or twice, you know? Networking, that kinda thing.

I couldn't agree more! The more who appreciate the finer tastes of music and song, the better!

[Ehe!]

As for me, I've been a travelling bard for years! I know every song, ballad and poem there is from my homeworld in Teyvat. And I can play several instruments.

[ AUDIBLE RECORD SCRATCH. ]

Wait, hold up. For real? Every single one? How in the heck did you even manage half of them? That's crazy!

Oh! When you've been around for as long as I've been you find the time~!

[Just like two thousand years or more of time. That's a lot of free time to jam.]

I can't even memorize names in history class most of the time... [ Whiiiiiine. ] You've gotta like, lend me your brain or something! It's made out of crazy powerful stuff!

[Oh, sweetie.]

When you have a heart for music it all comes as easy as breathing. Don't you feel the same? You're worrying too much.

Man, I guess I gotta get working on my heart, then. You're making it sound so easy!

[ But her smile's more self-deprecating than anything else. ]

Oh, uh! I'm Stella, by the way. I guess I run this thing?

[This sweet girl needs to believe in herself and the tune of music more! Well, Venti will just have to keep an eye on that.]

One song at a time is another on the roster, as they say! [Who says?? Just him, probably.] Nice to meet you, Stella. You can call me Venti!

[He smiles again.]

So, what can we expect of this musically inclined club?

That's kinda what we're here to figure out, I guess?

[ Her smile is a little sheepish. ]

Uh, this is actually my first time trying to run a club or a group like this so I'm totally flying blind here! I could throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks but then I figured, oh duh, it's probably better to ask what everybody wants to do and see where to go from there. Make sense?

Hmm! Total sense. It's a good thing you took the first step to gather everyone together in the first place.

[Venti has played music with other bards before but nothing has ever felt like a club to him before. Most of the time Venti is a solo artist.]

I'd enjoy things like exchanging lyrics or poetry, constructive workshops and most importantly sharing music?

[Who wants some love poetry lessons from Venti! And sign him up for some jam sessions.]

Creating music together seems the most important.

Ooohh, that all sounds pretty fun! Okay, one sec...

[ She briefly ducks away from the conversation so she can dig around in her bag. She pops back up with a notebook and a sparkly pink pen in hand and gets to taking notes. ]

Lyrics and poetry... workshops... making music together... yeah, that all sounds awesome! Especially like, the workshop thing? Brainstorming stuff together could be a really good way of getting to know people! Like a training camp, kinda?

Exactly! Just like a training camp. I've tried my hand at teaching a few classes in the past so I don't mind lending my expertise when it comes to writing songs or poetry.

[He smiles knowingly.]

Maybe in exchange for a fair and small tuition fee?

[ Oh! Oh my. . . Weiss is only a little bit startled at the sudden burst of energy from the pink person. And she makes sure it's know. ]

Someone's had a lot of coffee today.

Huh? Coffee? [ She glances down at her fancy drink and her eyebrows shoot up in surprise. ] Oh, no, this isn't coffee... I don't... think? ... Okay, one sec.

[ She scoops the cup up and gives it a dubious sniff and then a sip, like she hasn't been sat here chugging it the whole time. Satisfied, she plonks it back down. ]

Okay, ninety percent sure, it's not coffee.

[ Which means she's just like this naturally. Terrifying. ]

That's not what I meant.

[ Did someone leave the windows open because it suddenly got cold?

Well, cold for five seconds, at least, because Weiss isn't here to get into a fight. ]

Of course, the easiest thing to do for all the people who arrive is to talk about music. For those who make music, this would be an easy way to find people to collaborate with. But if you intend for this group to stay around for long, branching out and doing activities that don't relate to music would also be good to consider.

Oh, huh! You know, I never would've thought...

[ Stella plops herself back in her seat and leans back, arms folded across her chest as she mulls it over. ]

What kinda activities were you thinking? I've never set up anything like this before so I'm a hundred percent winging it.

[ YOU DON'T SAY... ]

I mean, if we're just here to talk about music, then we'll eventually get bored.

[ At least, that's what she thinks. ]

If you want to form bonds between people who share something in common, then it's also important to get to know them. What other things do they like to do, aside from make or listen to music? You know how in school, there are clubs, and clubs have activities like bake sales or other fundraisers? Something like that.

Right, right! Man, I'm glad you came along, I never would've thought... uh, one sec! Lemme write all this down so I don't forget.

[ She dips into her bag for a moment and emerges with a notebook and a sparkly pink pen. True to her word, she starts hastily scribbling in it as they talk. ]

Maybe we can do stuff like– just check out some cool places around Avalon? We'll look up spots we wanna visit as a group and we can make it a big outing!

[ She doesn't want to call it a field trip since that makes them sound like a gaggle of grade schoolers, but. Field trip-adjacent shenanigans, maybe. ]

Something like that, yes. [ Weiss nods sagely. She's glad she's being heard! ] If the group is in tact, there may even be chances to organise an event, perform publicly, and help the cityfolk with what they need.

Although, I do know of some groups like this who have regular outings. Like a field trip in school.

[ It's okay if you don't say it, Stella. Weiss will say it for you like the nerd that she is. :D ]

Well, if the others would be happy to do something like that, anyway.

I'll pitch it to them! I mean, the whole point is for us to network and make friends, yeah? So heading out on trips together and just sorta hanging out is gonna be the best way to do it.

[ She's still scribbling away, but whether she's writing down what Weiss is saying or she's going off with her own train of thoughts is unclear because her handwriting is, uh... well, Stella can ready it and that's the important part! ]

Are there any places in Avalon you wanna go?

I've... I've never really gone to many places here.

[ Stella may be surprised to hear that this is Weiss' first "outing". Of course, Weiss wouldn't say any of that out loud, though. ]

But I'd love to know about about the city and what's outside of it.

Oh, for real? Then we've gotta go out some places and you can check them out! It's way more fun exploring someplace new with pals, right? And at least you've got people to figure out directions with when you get lost...

[ A pause as she scribbles down a few more notes. ]

What kinda stuff do you like to do? If we know what people are into, we can figure out where to go.

Oh, me?

[ ... What kind of stuff does she like doing, huh? Well, behold. This is the coolest girl in all of existence. ]

I like to go to the library to read. When I have time, I go to boutiques to try on shoes and necklaces.

[When Chris came in, she looked lost... either that, or nervous about coming in. As such, she ends up getting swept up by Stella's enthusiasm.]

E-Eh? Well, uhm. I'm Chris! Chris Yukine...!

[ Ohoh, cute girls joining her club... that wasn't exactly an ulterior motive or anything but she's definitely going to call it a bonus. ]

Nice to meetcha! I'm Stella. Uh, I guess I run this whole thing? At least for now!

[Good thing those thoughts aren't vocalized, Stella, or you'd dealing with a Chris too embarrassed to function.]

It's uh, it's nice to meet you, Stella. So, what are we doing first...?

Right now we're just figuring out what we wanna do! As a group, I mean. Like, we're all here for music but that means different things for different folks! And even then, we're gonna want to do different stuff when we're here. So I guess right now, it's like, getting everybody on the same page and figuring out what we're hoping to get out of this!

Ah... [Chris rubs the back of her head, a bit of a loss for words. She has to think for a moment before something comes to mind for her.]

... Well, maybe it'd be a good idea to find out what the musical arts are like in his kingdom? I know there are a few karaoke bars, but beyond that...

Outside the Phoenix Roost

[Crow's not sure if Stella's network was enough to draw in like-minded individuals, that's why he decides to take on a direct approach to divert traffic to the meeting place.]

Hey you! Yes, you! Do you like music?

[He'll walk to a few random strangers. He has no problem getting up in their face with his chest toothy grin.]

Well, today's your lucky day! There's a club opening up for musically inclined people like us! Check it out!

Inside (Sitting his ass down! Thank god!)

[ Crow finally decides to join the club proceedings. He's lounging on at a table, a glass of milk in one hand and his feet propped up on the chair in front of him. It looks like he's taking up way more space than he needs to, but he'll happily make some room if you're interested in sitting at his table.]

Hey! Are you looking for an autograph? You must have seen my performance at the Valentine's Day concert! Do you want to have a seat? It's okay, I'm pretty down to earth!

[His tail enthusiastically swishes behind him. Maybe's he's not quite as intimidating as he looks.]
