🧙 WHO: Chris Yukine and you!
⚔️️ WHAT: Catch-all for March, quests and such
🕒 WHEN: All through March
🗺️ WHERE: Around Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: N/A
[The Great Hunny Hunt (Or Live Free and Die Bun)]
First of all, Chris had no idea there could be this many bunny cafes in a given location. In all actuality, she would have probably only figured there were one or two. But no, this was her fifth one today and it wasn't even the last.
Of course, she hadn't found Sir Fuzzlerton. Not yet, anyway. And what's more, this particular cafe wasn't so keen on letting her wait around just in case he appeared. So? She was forced to work for her time, wearing one of the (admittedly cute) cafe worker uniforms (complete with rabbit ears) and helping wait tables and seat new customers.
She felt absolutely mortified.
If you came in, you'd be greeted by her smiling awkwardly as you came in. "Hello! How can I help make your day a bit more bunny?" she said, doing her absolute best not to sound mortified.
She was failing.
Drastically.
[Manhunt]
The hunt for the so-called Snagglefoot Miffen was much more Chris's speed. You didn't think a short girl with pigtails could be intimidating, but she was able to get enough information on his whereabouts before he even made it to the Red Spring Inn.
Unfortunately, when Chris tried to confront the thief, he took off running. And what's more, he was fast, where Chris most certainly wasn't.
"Stop that man!" Chris called, as she tore off after him, between huffing and puffing. She had called it out several times, but as of yet, no one had tried to help her. Maybe you could be the first? Or perhaps you're her partner in taking Snagglefoot down.
[Music in the Streets]
Chris hadn't planned to end up in the middle of a street performance. But she truly loved music, even if she didn't always show it outwardly. So, when she came across a group of bards doing a street performance, she couldn't help but stop and listen. And as she stopped and listened, she ended up singing along, and well...
The bards took notice. They didn't care what she sang, but they took her out of the crowd, and compelled her to sing with them. Chris was highly embarassed, but she couldn't say no, especially with all those people around her, so expectant.
And so, she she sang. She was surprised the bards knew it, but... happy nonetheless. It wasn't one of Chris's own songs from within, but it was a song she appreciated... and it made her think of her friends.
Are you in the crowd? Just passing by to listen? Or are you coming in at the end, as Chris finishes, and finally steps down from the performance?
[Training]
Chris was always up for honing her magical skills, so she could often be found on the training grounds. The order of the day was what it usually was—target practice. She'd gotten skilled in forming magical arrows, and that was what she was practicing with: arrows made of flame, ice, and electricity, and working how to aim and fire them properly in conjunction with her bow.
You could approach her then, or you could wait for Chris herself to approach you; she figures enough practice is enough, and seeks out someone directly. "Hey," she said, with an awkward wave. "I don't suppose you'd be interested in sparring?"
The old man and Hibiki had truly taken too much influence over her.

Manhunt
Hearing someone shout that however causes her to react almost immediately. In a blur of magic acceleration, Chris will suddenly find a girl who is... actually taller than Chris herself, if slightly, running alongside her.
"Stop who in the what now?"
no subject
Ruby had come out of nowhere, which was surprising enough. But it wasn't just that, she had to be just a hair taller too, didn't she?!
Chris grit her teeth, and without waiting for an answer, pointed at the fleeing man well ahead of him.
"That guy! He's a thief!"
no subject
What happens next occurs in only a few seconds: Ruby accelerates ahead of Chris and grabs her weapon. Snapping Crescent Rose out into scythe mode and chucks it ahead of her, to land upside down, pole facing to the air. Ruby then accelerates FASTER, launching herself off the ground, adjusting herself to slam her feet into the pole/rifle section of the weapon, which then sends it - and her - spinning rapidly through the air after the thief.
"HELLO!" she chirps merrily to the man as she speeds past him. She quickly finds the weapon's trigger even as she spins and fires a sudden shot from the rifle section. That shoots into the air, and she rockets to land on the ground, grabbing the weapon and swinging it around to brandish in the man's path.
no subject
"Holy shit!" she exclaimed. "That was fast...!"
Snagglefoot is barely able to stop himself from running into the girl and her scythe. His eyes meet Ruby's in panic, before he spins on his heel and rushes for an alleyway, still intent on getting away.
no subject
See, whatever the heck her familiar is, it has this habit of sticking to the shadows around the city.
As such, the alley the guy ducks down suddenly has a howl and a growling sound echo out from it as her still-unnamed - because she's still wrapping her head around it and naming something that looks like THAT is weird to her - Beowolf Grimm makes his presence known.
Ruby instead just covers the entrance to the alley.
"Seriously, you're probably better off taking your chances with us."
no subject
"Don't feed me to that thing!" the thief pleads. "I'll confess! I'll confess to whatever you like!"
Chris finally catches up at this point, wheezing as a crow lights upon her shoulder. "That... that serves you right," she gasped, trying to catch her breath.
no subject
She folds Crescent Rose back down into its rifle mode and holds it across her shoulder. She eyes her familiar, cocking her head to one side. The Grimm grunts and backs off, just. Sitting down and staring at the man.
Intently.
"Well, I guess it does have SOME advantage..." she murmurs, but then looks to the other girl. "Sorry if I ran ahead."
no subject
"It's... it's no trouble," Chris said, shaking her head. "Geez, you're fast. Was that... kinetic magic?"
no subject
She looks down and eyes the man.
"So, uh. What about him?"
no subject
She looked at Snagglefoot, who smiled nervously. "I guess we should turn him over to the authorities, and make sure they take him back to Camelot. Then I can turn the quest in."
She looked at Ruby. "I can make sure you get credit for it, too."
no subject
She glances back at the silver haired girl and grins. "Well, I'm glad I could help! It at least makes me feel a LITTLE like back home." She blinks a bit and chuckles. "Credit? ...right, I guess I wasn't even thinking about that, heh."
She sticks out a hand. "My name's Ruby Rose, by the way!"
no subject
"At home? Do you do this good samaritan act on the regular?"
At the rest, she shrugged. "I just figured you should get the acknowledgement. You did more than I did to take this guy down."
A beat. "Oh. Uhm. I'm Chris," she said, somewhat nervously. She was getting a bit better at introducing herself. "Chris Yukine."
no subject
She smiles, nonplussed by the obvious nervousness. "Nice to meet you, Chris!"
no subject
"Huh," she said. "I can... kind of understand part of that. Fighting to protect people, I mean."
She doesn't exactly look like a fighter at all, though, save for the bow and arrows.
no subject
Also, the bow and arrows was enough that Ruby just sort of assumed the other girl knew how to fight, regardless of any other appearance. After all, it's not like people in her world tended to look like "practical" sorts of warriors one might expect.
"Uh-huh! So, you know. At the least, I guess those skills carry over pretty well here," she eyes the Grimm, who was still eyeing the man. "Don't... mind my familiar, also. I know he can look a little creepy."
no subject
"It takes a lot to phase me," she said. "I've seen worse... from people, as well as monsters."
And some monsters that were adorable.
But enough but Grape-kun.
