🧙 WHO: Weiss Schnee and you!
⚔️️ WHAT: A ~March catch-all covering some quest prompts and other open prompts.
🕒 WHEN: Early to Mid March.
🗺️ WHERE: Arouuuund the city.
⚠️ WARNINGS: None for now!
🛡Farmers-R-Us
[ Weiss hasn't been one to socialise much since she arrived, mostly because she feels lonely that her teammates aren't here. If she'll make friends, there's a high chance they would disappear in a few weeks or months. Isn't that tiring? That's what she thinks on the surface.
But here she is, with Elaine, the owner of the farm she lives in, having posted for help, looking around and trying to get to know the various people who have come to the farm to assist in preparing the soil for planting, amongst other things. In fact, Elaine, given her old age, has told Weiss what she wants and left it to the young Huntress to manage the rest. Fortunately, she knows a thing or two about that! ]
Maybe you should take a break? [ Weiss is holding a tray of snacks ranging from bite-sized pretzels, to slices of bread, and fruit. She'd prefer not to get dirty, which is why she isn't helping with the manual labour, but if hose pixies ever come out again, then she'll at least try to do something about it! ] I think all of us have done a lot so far, so it wouldn't hurt to rest for a few minutes.
🎵 Lullaby of Camelot
[ It's not every day that Weiss actually goes around to look for other means of income. Sure, she's helping out at the farm, and her and Cloud's landlady has been nothing but generous in exchange for their help in doing the groceries and other chores, but Weiss does want to do more. She wants to make more money. It doesn't help that she's never gone to a... "job interview" before, nor does she even have a resume! She's definitely lost as she checks various postings online for work. . .
Now, there's one particular "bar" that opened up. While not necessarily a place for drinking and partying, it does cater to people who want to enjoy music and have fun. Weiss has never experienced karaoke before, so the whole concept of singing alongside a track without vocals while reading the lyrics on a screen is absolutely foreign, but it seems that not many people in Camelot know about it, either! The bar now has a set outside the establishments, inviting people passing by to pick a song and sing along. If they like what they're doing, they may as well go inside and rent a room!
... well, if she's not going to find a job now, she may as well try and have fun, right? Though. . . when she looks at the selection of songs, there's not much that she knows. Oh! Except for this one-- at least, the title is the same. . . a song she'd heard in the world she'd previously been in, Prismatica.
Not at all minding that the public can hear her sing, she actually sings her heart out. She does have the talent, after all, although she's not exactly doing karaoke anymore when she knows the lyrics...
Still, it's a treat for everyone else! And after her "song", she looks around, adrenaline pumping in her veins. Oh, that was fun! She should do it again... or someone, yes, someone! ]
Hey, you should try this, too. It's really fun!
💥 Wildcard
[ I've run out of prompt ideas for now, but if you'd like to do anything with Weiss, feel free to plot with me or hit me up with a starter of your own! ]

[ Because 16-year old Cloud touting a Buster Sword without mako or Jenova's cells? He wasn't living a bullet storm. To her observation on the blade though...he actually smiles to that. ]
Funny you should say that...
[ Because now Cloud was going to manually take apart the ENTIRE thing. When he's finished disassembling, turning gears and flipping out two handles on his short blades, on the ground are now five individual blades. Two of them are a set that match the other, with the hollow blade standing out on its own. In his hands, however? ]
This is the base.
[ A large double-edged sword that's folded out in the center to reveal a bunch of complicated designs. ]
It's the centerpiece that holds everything else in place. It's lighter, [ he explains as he rotates it by the handle so she can get a good look at it. ] ...well. Compared to before.
no subject
There is one thing, though. . . ]
So, why do you need so many swords?
no subject
Answering Weiss' query, he adjusts the angle of the sword, even getting into a fighting stance, but never swinging it for obvious reasons. ]
Two reasons. One, the open road is dangerous back home. So I needed something I could swing offhand if monsters came after me.
[ He fights on his motorcycle. No big deal. ]
Two, I can adapt to way more situations— [ i.e. - different fighting styles. ] —if I can switch between dual-wielding or smashing things.
[ To that end, Cloud bends down to pick up one of the smaller swords. It folds at the handle when being assembled to the centerpiece. ]
I get disarmed? I got a spare waiting till I can retrieve it. You've seen my holster.
no subject
Cheater.]Hmm... This one is almost as tall as I am.
[ Then again, Crescent Rose is taller than Ruby! She sits down on the bed, bringing the sword with her so she can take a closer look at the hinges. ]
Did you use this with materia before? Where do you put it?
no subject
Actually...there are no slots for Materia.
After we defeated Sephiroth- [ and Meteor fell. ] -we tried not to use it so much. Relying on the Planet's power was part of the problem in the first place.
[ But that didn't mean they wouldn't. But Cloud got so much stronger even without relying on it. ]
no subject
There goes that idea of trying on elemental bullets with the swords, though! Damn. ]
What about energy? Where do you get the energy for light, transportation, communication?
[ There's not much a lot she knows about Materia and the Planet, which is why she wants to understand. She does have some sort of analogy in her head that Materia is almost the same as Dust, though. Perhaps she's wrong about that, after all. ]
no subject
Now? Coal, oil, fuel deposits... It was easier when most the world relied on Mako. But the reactors were gonna suck the Planet dry eventually.
[ Being as connected as he was to the Lifestream after everything he and everyone else went through, he empathizes with those who would protect it and want the reactors shut down. But upon realizing what he said, his eyes widen before he chuckles, shaking his head. ]
Now I sound like Barret.
no subject
I guess you're getting old.
[ Sorry, Barret. And she doesn't even know you. ]
So... all your swords... [ She thinks she understands how they all get put together. Of course, when Cloud isn't around, she'll want to tinker with it and assemble it on her own. ] Is there a specific order when you want to put it back all together?
no subject
[ When she asks about reassembling it, Cloud holds his hand out. ]
Here.
[ If Weiss was finished inspecting the base blade, he'll take it back now and show her. ]
no subject
[ Still heavy! And she hands back the sword to him with shaky hands. ]
I want to see how it all works when put together.
1/2
First, the center folds in.
[ Cloud's perfected controlling the blade with a flick of the wrist. But for the sake of this exercise, he presses something at the base of the Fusion Sword, applying pressure as it closes inward. It's no longer in battle mode. ]
Then the hollow blade...
[ He picks it up off the ground, showing her it from different angles before locking it in place. ]
Then the back blades... [ On they go. One by one on either side of the rear. Now it's starting to look like the Buster Sword. It's also starting to get a little heavy as he holds it upright in one hand. His arm's starting to shake a little every time he bends down to pick a weapon up. ] And finally...
[ It's those switchblade style swords from before, the ones with a turning gear at the base. ]
Just fold them in. [ This time he flicks his wrist as the blade smoothly folds backwards, flush with the handle. It goes on! ] One more and...
[ The final piece is locked and secured into the other side. ]
There you have it. One Fusion Sword—
2/2
Whoa—! [ Quick to place both hands back on the handle, his biceps swell a little bit as he reins it back in, holding it upright once more as he fixes his posture. Ah...it's still heavy. This is why kinetic magic was a perfect match for Weiss and this weapon. ]
Phew...
[ Before he puts it back, ]
Any questions?
( ooc; Fusion Sword assembly schematic here! )
no subject
Oh, well... [ No questions about the sword, but she sits back down, jotting down some things in her notebook! ] Can I borrow it sometime? I won't dismantle it or anything. I'll treat it with utmost care.
[ Until it falls over on Weiss and Cloud has to rescue her from his huge sword— wait ]
no subject
Go ahead. [ Matter of fact, a beat later as he goes to rest it in the corner again. ] You can even dismantle it too.
[ And if she has trouble putting it back together
or gets stuck under his huge sword, he'll just show her again. ]no subject
[ A few couple of nods, promising that she won't let anything bad happen to it! ]
It's a very unique weapon, that's for sure. [ With the sword "kept", she can go start on Cloud's training regimen! ] Although admittedly, I've never seen anything like it. What we're taught in school is to make weapons that would be convenient for any sort of situation. It's why it's suggested to make a weapon that can be used both melee and in long-range situations.
no subject
Like Ruby's sniper rounds. Or your Dust chambers.
[ It's true that on its own (and outside of throwing the swords like boomerangs don't ask how that works dakjfsh), the Fusion Sword and other past weapons weren't really known for being long-ranged tools. ]
Materia tends to circumvent that. [ But since they're trying to reduce using it back home... ] I've got my ways of getting around no long-range.
[ Limit Breaks! Like summoning meteorites, tornados and laser beams!
How the hell, Cloud.]no subject
[ Now, at least! Gotta think of things Cloud can do with it! Maybe take him out to the mountains some time so he can use what's around him for it. ]
Hm... Maybe jump off a cliff... [ What's she saying?! Is she writing that down?! ]
no subject
[ Having the ability to cast magic again without requiring Materia and slotted equipment. Even if he's starting from the bottom. ]
[ "Hm... Maybe jump off a cliff..." ]
Yeah that can—
what
[ WHAT ]
no subject
[ You know! Like what Ozpin did to them when they had to find their partners, before teams were formed. It's what landing strategies are for, Cloud. ]
You'll be fine. I'll watch over the whole thing and intervene when necessary.
no subject
[ This is the part where one should be sensible and reject that kind of challenge but— ]
Now I get it.
[ —this is Cloud Strife we're talking about here. If he had his old power, he wouldn't think twice about jumping off a cliff. This? Actually sounds like a good test. This can only go well. ]
Am I being timed?
no subject
[ Does she not want Cloud to get hurt or does she want to hurt Cloud?! ]
No timer, though... but we can consider it for the second test.
no subject
[ But, he doesn't want to sound like he's complaining. Especially since he's got a penchant for pushing his limits anyway. ]
But, [ he shrugs, pushing away from the wall to come sit at the foot of the bed again. ] you're the boss.
[ Of his training regime. ]
no subject
[ Don't be a whiner, Cloud! For someone so reckless and gungho about fighting Servants, you sure are hesitant about this whole idea. ]
no subject
Come to think of it... I've already got a couple too.
no subject
[ And he can go take a shower! Weiss will be fine by herself thinking of various ways to innovate Cloud's magic. ]
