[Closed] A birthday party

⚔️️ WHAT: Small birthday party for Mikasa
🕒 WHEN: February 10th
🗺️ WHERE: Jean and Mikasa's apartment
⚠️ WARNINGS: Fluff. There will be fluff.
[It's February 10th and Jean has somehow managed to keep the small party a secret from Mikasa. He took time off work to decorate their apartment with some cherry blossom petal looking decorations and bake a cake. Not that he was the best baker ever, but he had become rather decent in Verens. Of course there are other things to eat as well.
Of course, Snow the Husky is also there and on her best behavior because she is a good girl. She has had the honor of being the one to welcome guests inside. She also has a cute pink bow on her to match the decorations.
There is also a balcony in the apartment that Jean has made into a space for anyone to relax and take a break from standing or sitting inside. Not that there would be that many guests, but sometimes you just needed a moment on your own.]

At some point in the evening he's also on the balcony just to take a moment to relax. He's been up on his feet all day preparing, so just relaxing in an arm chair is what he really needs.
What he didn't really need was a kind of big husky sitting on his lap. Normally he was fine with it, but he was trying to relax here.]
Oof... Snow, please. Don't you have guests to entertain?
Post-party ; closed to Mikasa
A quite big box that had one pink dress inside. Jean had seen it and just had to get it for her since he imagined her wearing it. Besides, they could both use new clothes anyway.]

She smiles at him with clear surprise in her eyes as she reaches out for the box.]
You didn't have to.
[Is that some blush on her face? She takes the box and opens it gently like she's trying not to break whatever's inside.
The dress gets some surprised staring from her as soon as Mikasa sees it and that staring doesn't stop even while she pulls it away from there to get a better look at it.]
It's so beautiful. [Jean gets a kiss. Yes. Just one. But at least it's a kiss to his lips and she smiles again after it.] Thank you, my love.

Maybe it's a good thing, that she decided to wear a white sweater and a light pink skirt today. Now she seems to somewhat match the theme here. Then again Jean knows she wears white and many kind of pink colors often...
It's weird for her to be in the spotlight in any way including people being here for her birthday?? Mikasa starts the cake only when Jean reminds her, that she should be the first one to cut it... Right okay. She's around, eating cake and other things and drinking whatever there is to drink like she is trying to taste everything and ...she's not a conversation starter, she is typically the quiet girl everywhere and this isn't any different.
Then again, she has Snow cuddling on her a lot wherever she happens to be sitting and standing, so maybe the dog can help with that somehow...?? Seems like she's having a good birthday either way and she is totally not expecting any kind of presents from anyone. Social party is good gift in itself.]

That is...if his experiences in another world hadn't softened him up some. Comradery was something harder to come by when going alone. And if making more allies with such a simple gesture like wishing someone a happy birthday was all that it takes? ]

[ Cloud really can't afford much right now. Nor did he had any idea as to what her interests were. ...granted, that wouldn't change much in the first place. Cloud's always been, if anything, practical when it came to this kind of thing. In a small, brown paper bag with a little shop's insignia on it, is a pair of fingerless gloves that double as mittens. If, by chance, Mikasa was a soldier like Jean was? The grip on the inside made sense.
There's really nothing special about these gloves at all. Just the sensible thoughts of a man who knows a thing or two about fighting.
He holds out the bag for her to accept, so she can discover what's inside for herself. ]

[And from behind his back he presents a bag, Mikasa will find the cutest stuffed otter money can buy with a cute orange bow tied around his neck, and Takao will just be here waiting for the reactions.]
