Working For a - can you call this - Living. OTA
🧙 WHO: Kyoko and whomever
⚔️️ WHAT: Catch all
đź•’ WHEN: Jan-Feb
🗺️ WHERE: All around, but mostly the coffee shop where she is working.
⚠️ WARNINGS: Angst, over reacting, over acting, and whiplash fast mood swings.
Having found nowhere to use her acting talents, and trying to do something about how often her other selves had taken her over after she learned the basics of magic - ACTUAL MAGIC! That was still taking soMe getting used to - Kyoko was trying to keep herself, well, herself. With varying degrees of success. To that end, she's been throwing herself into her part tiMe job, trying to earn enough Money to... well she wasn't sure what to yet. Get a place of her own Maybe? She wasn't sure.
She knew they were supposed to be two to a room, bit somehow she still had a room to herself, and she didn't mind a shared kitchen. So she wasn't really in a rush to move out. And she had found so many clothes on the bottom of that lake that she hardly needed wardrobe. Besides, without anyone to hire an actress, who was she trying to impress? She didn't mind wearing the same thing over and over again. And besides, she'd gotten used to the shockingly bright curse pink of her Love Me uniform by this point, and the stares it got her. The jumpsuit was comfortable and durable. So she saw no reason not to wear it whenever she wasn't in her work uniform for the coffee house.
Kyoko... has lost her spark and her way and is just sort of... drifting through life. She finally made it to the Faerie World, but... it only drove home to her how plain and boring and unremarkable she was. And no one seemed to know who Corn was. So she was just... living a plain boring average life. She didn't even carry her swords anymore. And had no clue that the Quest Board even existed. She had... been in lala land when she first arrived and missed out on a lot of the info they were given and now... had no clue she'd missed anything that mattered.
If she had realized that once again she was acting the role of a boring plain girl with noredacted appeal, the anger might have been enough to snap her out of it. But without that she was back to being a shell of a woman who smiled brightly for customers because that was her job, but had no real drive... to be loved.
Someone want to wake up this empty soul? She looks happy enough but she's just... empty.

He has no idea what is bothering Kyoko right now, but he still wants to help her out. It’s been a while since they started working together in the cafe as he was very busy with quests and the tournament the month prior, so he is need of playing catch up with her. Maybe a little chit-chat could lift her spirits up.

"Perfectly fine. Why? Did you need me to stay later?"

Rose is still having her alone time, exploring the cafe and zipping across the floor, although how she is able to avoid getting squashed while under the tables is a big mystery.
“Man, I have a very busy month: chasing after dust bunnies, encountering an illusion casting creature at night, and competing in an animated fighter tournament & a magical melee fight and losing at both of them in the end, though I wasn’t too upset in losing,” he recounts his previous month’s timeline, “How you are doing during the previous month though?”

The manager has been kind to him and his very busy questing season and, since he has been working hard in there, it is no surprise that they allow him to take some time off to handle the quests he signed up in and rest afterwards. After all, sometimes working in a cafe can be a little too much for one person.

For a moment the shell around her began to crack, as she could almost imagine the puppy dog face the head of her agency would make if he'd been here and trying to call her. But it was silly. No one here would have any reason to call or thext her... right?

Then he notices Kyoko’s frantic searching for her smartphone and it does leave him more concerned as to where the phone has gotten to.
“Hey, um, when was the last time did you use the phone though?” he asks her inquisitively.

“Well, we could try to find the phone in where you last used it at, tracing your steps and picking it up,” Harry suggests to her a way to find her missing phone, “I have been practising my kinetic magic for quite a while now, so I maybe could try to get the phone back to you with it. Probably a lot easier to use than using the Summoning Charm by this point.”
Dang it, tis reply never showed in my inbox! Guess I should check Rhia too >.<
Sorry, there was still something new and exciting about having a friend. Even if he hadn't said they were friends, she was still clinging to the thought of having a friend. She hadn't seen Zelda or Moko in aaaaages now.
It’s alright though.
He hasn’t see Zelda in weeks as well, though he has been done rather well with maintaining his other connections in Avalon for quite a while now.
Aaaaaaaand Kyoko's back
She was now of course trying to recall the last time she had a friend over into her room.
And stopped short mentally, her body freezing as her eyes widened and she realized...
Other than the Okamisan back home who rented the room to her... the last time she could recall anyone visiting her in her room was...
She paled as her eyes went wider, then fury filled her.
Memories of Sho in her room warred with bullying from the other girls because she lived with Sho. She wanted to take all those girls and show them how their precious Shotaru lived and what scum he was.
Rage seemed to issue out of her in waves. darkness flowing up around her thanks to her familiar and subconscious use of her ow illusions. (There were reasons that Mr. Yashiro found her fun to watch, after all.) Her familiar rose from her shoulder cackling, rolling happily in the waves of hate.
Then suddenly she thought of how Moko had reacted when she finally told her first best friend ever about Sho and everything that had happened. The rage vanished as quickly as it arrived. Her familiar gave a disgusted "Peh" and vanished. She went pale again.
Moko. That idiot show used to come into her room all the time because it was his house. But her best first best friend ever had never been to her room! Of course she couldn't invite Moko over when she has such a tiny little space, Moko hated being reminded of poor people's lives and limited budgets. But... Moko had had her over and she even stayed over night. TWICE! Once when she met Moko's family after Moko threw Hio on set and once to make....
She couldn't even finish that thought. Thoughts of Moko were, for once, stronger than the rage and hate she felt for those two idiots. That and she was trying to forget Valentines Day last year all together. Wait, what was she thinking about? Right Moko. And how Moko had invited her over twice but she had never....
Kyoko threw herself at Harry, sobbing into him. "I'm a horrible best friend!!!!" she wailed.
It... was probably for the best they were in back on break and, you know, not out front where the customers could have seen all this. Mind the whole thing took less than a minute, but still. Have fun with the sobbing actress soaking your uniform shirt, Harry.

“Hey, Kyoko, are you okay?” he asks her in concern as Rose softly squeaks in sadness.

Not that he is unaware that phone calls from Avalon to Japan don’t work at this time, but it is worth giving it a shot, if not, maybe Kyoko can apologize to Moko personally once time and Avalon’s magic are restored back to normal.

Why hadn't she thought to even try calling or messaging home before?
