A New Dawn (or a Bad Pun For a Title)

[The tournament in Camelot gave Dawn some time to think. There were a few harsh truths she was given by those humiliating contests: she needed practice and she needed a new outfit. The outfit was the easiest thing to solve and she knew it. A sleeveless blouse and a small pink mini-skirt didn’t work in such an adventurous world such as Avalon. She needed something cute yet adventurous and protective.

A bit of work to scrounge up some money and a little bit of help here and there and Dawn has what she needs to get her outfit. And a trip to a tailor later lead to the girl stepping out in her new outfit: a white thick blouse under a leather vest, a skirt that went down to her knees with tights underneath and a pair of boots.

Dawn stepped out of the store in the outfit feeling a lot more confident, especially as she put back her hair clips and stocking cap.]

Look out, world, a new Dawn has arrived! I’m gonna give it my all to save our worlds! Now... maybe I should practice!

A Tall Order

[One of the Quests on the QuestBoard seemed quite simple - help a bunch of elves feel better with themselves by being carried higher than the dwarves that belittle them. A victim of bullying herself, Dawn was willing to help them out any way she could. Thus, she was on her way to the beach to help them out, plotting out things.]

Well, they just want to be taller, right? Maybe they can be carried while riding Magnezone... he should be tough enough!

A Quest of the Pure of Heart

[Dawn didn’t like this at all. She was willing to do this odd mission for the large amount of gold, but as she was doing so, she began to think it over more. The people who asked of them to cross the bridge weren’t the ones who asked to try again, but Morganna. And trying to trick an old man into taking an unknown potion? Something just stank about this!]

Excuse me, but... does this feel wrong to you?

[Oh, well, this seemed easy, right? Test an arrow to make sure its magic worked in the spirit of Palentines... er, Valentine’s Day. Big question, though:]

[A forced marriage? The man trying to kill a harmless creature? What kind of monster was this?! Dawn really didn’t like the idea of harming other humans, but sometimes lessons needed to be made, right? Maybe she could just beat them senseless to deter him from all this?]

We’re going to try to do this without killing. I don’t like to hurt others, but...

Yeah, it does sound so wrong to me too, Dawn. It is bothering me more than I was expecting. I don’t know why Morganna would ask us to get some crystals and give this nice old man this strange potion.

(Harry is staring blankly at the mysterious potion Morganna has given them to put onto the man’s food that he is carrying in his hands. He is feeling like his stomach is knotting up quickly inside and he is screaming inside.

Rose squeaks nervously, agreeing with both humans that this thing they are about to is not right.)

Maybe it’s a trap... it has to be. It’s not too late to turn around, right?

[Both Piplup and Magnezone look to each other, then to their humans in concern. It seems they are equally worried.]

I don’t know if we can get out of here while we still can, but I also suspect that it could be a trap. Can’t imagine what Morganna’s face will look like if we try to leave without doing this though.

(Harry can’t imagine what the reaction Morganna might have if they refuse to do it.

Rose is not too happy to know that her master and his new friend are asked to dump a strange potion onto an old man’s food. She doesn’t understand why that they have to do it. The little Pygmy Puff shakes nervously, worrying about what lies ahead.)

I guess... [she sighs and shakes her head] I just wish she told us more...

I’m also thinking the same thing as well, Dawn. (He is trying not to worry about the old man right now.) Hopefully we could find out about what we’re getting ourselves into.

So... the old man first, right?

(When Dawn tells him about the old man, he turns around to see the old man and his house not far from where they are at now, his jaws dropped in shock that they are closer to their target much more than he was expecting.)

Oh Merlin, there he is! Dawn, what should we do now? (Harry proceeds to hide the potion behind his back to prevent any suspicion.)

I, uh...! [She freezes, panicking. Okay, what do they do now?!]

I... I dunno!

(This is getting really weirder for the two of them and none of them have a plan set in stone and they are not prepared for what they just got themselves into.)

Um, well, I could try to distract him by making stuff move around and he could be outside trying to find out what’s happening while we quietly sneak in, add this weird potion onto his food, and then we can get out of here quickly.

(And question their sanity about what did they just do to the poor kind old man while they try to extract crystals from the bridge. He decides to ask Dawn for some more input into the plan just to be sure.)

Do you have any suggestions as well?

That is... a-a terrible idea! I mean, we’re pranking an old man just for this?

[Jeez, and she’s certain Team Rocket wouldn’t be like this!]

I’m honestly thinking of chucking that in the forest! For all we know, we could be poisoning him!

You know what, you have a point: we could try throw it away in the forest before we can hurt the man any further. I just don’t want to hurt him as well.

(Dawn might be right about the potion he is carrying, maybe it is not worth hurting the old guy at all: what if this potion is a poison. Besides he didn’t want to hurt the man as well.)

Since we’re in agreement...!

[And Dawn pulls back to toss the potion, waiting just enough for an objection before she does]

Well, I vote for not proceeding with the potion thing as well.

(Besides, the gold reward wasn’t worth it if he and Dawn were told to possibly poison the poor old man through his food. Perhaps Dawn tossing the potion could solve their problems easy.)

[ Big question with an easy answer: ]

I'd rather shoot the arrow.

[ Honestly... Karma can't comprehend anybody willing to stand and get shot by anything, not unless they can move at mach 20 or otherwise have extreme confidence in themselves to dodge or deal with the blow. Looking at Dawn, he's not really sure, just seeing somebody who foolheartedly believes everything will turn out okay.

He takes the bow and notches an arrow before she can change her mind. ]

Gonna face it head-on, or should I surprise you?

Woah, wait, I, er... s-Surprise me!

[What was she thinking?! She was caught off guard by Karma’s actions here!]

[ Ooh, she's braver than he thought, though he can tell she mostly blurted out that answer without thinking. ]

Haha, seriously? Alright! Close your eyes~

[Dawn sighs and closes her eyes at that.]

I’ll probably regret it, but it’s my fault...

[ Sure is, and he's glad that Dawn takes responsibility, and doesn't back out of the offer either, even when she's had so many chances to do just that. Karma waits until her eyes are closed before circling around her, drawing the bow and looking around for where he can shoot that won't injure her too badly if this arrow happens to function as a real arrow, arrow pointing towards her heart (this feels like where a Cupid's arrow should be shot?) and then her arm and then her foot...

He takes a step back and lets the arrow loose.

It strikes Dawn's left pinky, right on the pad. ]

Yeep!

[Dawn didn’t expect to be hit there, flailing her hand a bit. It didn’t hurt too bad, but it still hurt.]

I didn’t expect there!

[ No bleeding! That's the best news Karma could hope for, lowering the bow with a laugh. ]

That's the point! Fingertips have one of the lowest risks of bleeding out, and shattering bones won't puncture any important organs.

[ The safest place he could think of, save an earlobe but that's a little too close to the brain for comfort. ]
