⚠️ WARNINGS: Riou is a survivalist and hunts his own food. Though it isn't the topic of any prompts, it does come up regularly (including a mention of hunting traps in the first prompt).

A. You are What You Eat; Outside, Various Locations Around Camelot
[ Riou is somewhat of a go-getter when it comes to skills, but he didn't get there because of a miracle of any kind. He trains rigorously every day. Unfortunately, doing so alone with animal magic can be a little.. dangerous.

He's managed to transform himself into a Flemish Giant Rabbit, rusty orange in color. Though he's managed to do quite well with some of the easier animal magics, this is one he hasn't particularly perfected. For example, undoing it.

After some attempts to undo it himself, Riou decides that the best solution is to seek out his comrades. Unfortunately, the world is much, much larger-- even giant rabbits are still, well, much smaller than a 6'3" man. Attempts to seek assistance may involve him going up to people and standing on his back feet so that he can paw peoples' knees, drawing the letter "M" in the ground with his paw to try to indicate he's not a normal rabbit (he's Crazy M!), or thumping in morse code "BUSUJIMA RABBIT HELP." ]

B. Beach Episode; Camelot > White Cliffs
[ After a nice little shopping trip to the Elphame Traders, Riou had taken to using the recipes for the totems between the beach and Camelot to thoroughly practice making and utilizing them.

To that end, he will approach someone holding up one of the little totems. ]

I need to discover if I can take others with me using this. Will you come to the beach with me?

[ Granted, it's not exactly.. beach weather. But learning now is better than learning when it matters. ]

C. Quest: A Tall Order
[ Riou is particularly excited about this task. He's tall, that's for sure.. unfortunately, there are two sides to the sedan chair, and finding someone who is the same height as he is is proving.. challenging. The elves don't seem satisfied with his previous partner and have stopped before they even made it out the door.

Riou needs someone with kinetic magic, or perhaps someone else who is over 6 feet to help him out, maybe an alchemist who can create booster roller blades... who knows. Anyone with a very good idea. Regardless, for now, he looks perplexed and in need of assistance, and the elves seem rushed to shove whoever they can find nearby that is there to help toward him to sort it out. ]

[Ever since Ken got Koromaru back, it has made living here in Avalon a lot more easier. Now that he had much more daily routine with his dog, it was out for his walk around the Camelot. What adventures will Ken and Koromaru meet today?

He wasn't sure but he didn't have to wait for long as he spotted a rather unusually large rabbit hopping around.]

You need some help there?

[Ken asked him as he wondered what this rabbit was doing. Hopefully his animal magic will kick in and help him out? At the same time, it didn't stop Koromaru from sniffing him either.]

I am no prey, canine.

[ He identifies himself to the dog first, not sure how to identify other animal magic users... though it's certainly something that Ken will be able to understand when he does say it.

He at least has the boy's attention though, so he tries to speak. If it doesn't work, he'll try to communicate in some other way or maybe get the dog to help... ]

I am a human. I need to find my friends for assistance.

[When the rabbit spoke, Ken raised an eyebrow at him. He knew he could talk but he never thought it was a actual human! That’s why when Koromaru gave a small whine, he looked back at his owner.]

I know, Koromaru, you just want a new playmate.

[That being said, he gave his hand out to Riou in hopes he would accept his help.]

Then tell me, what do they look like? Because I think they might have a better idea of how to find a potion to get you back to normal.

[Please don’t tell Ken he had to do another potion mix up quest again.]

[So why are there so many people here who are so tall? It's downright unfair.

Kaede looks between Riou's face and the totems, and he's... Vaguely familiar with what they do. He hasn't tried to learn how to make them himself, but they seem useful. Maybe some day, when he's not trying to learn everything he can about how this place works he can... Actually try making things for himself.

...Also, he's not going to turn down someone asking him to do something. He just can't.]

Um, okay. I can do that.

[It's not beach weather, no, but... Hey, it's not like Kaede knows that! All beach weather is beach weather to him!]

I’m Kaede. [There’s less hesitation in giving out a name, now, but it seems so lackluster a name all of a sudden.] And I don’t think I need to prepare anything...? All I need to do is follow you, right?

[Avalon's February weather has been pretty gross lately, but today the sun is finally out for once. That doesn't counteract the slushiness of everything, but it cuts through the chill just enough for it to be worthwhile to step outside. Better than staying cooped up in that inn room, at least!

Rei decided to take advantage of it to do a little more exploring of the city-- so he bundled up (with that new scarf Rosho got him!) and grabbed one of those cafe drinks the locals were crowing about. It's maybe a bit too sweet for his tastes, but whatever.

He had stopped at one of the park benches for a smoke....]

Whoa, there.

[...But now there's a FUCKING HUGE rabbit trying to get his attention, so maybe it wasn't the best idea after all. Are bunnies ALLOWED to get that big??????]

[ Good, he has this man's attention. Riou attempts to speak at first, identifying himself, but it's pretty useless since Rei doesn't have the animal magic to understand him. It just comes out rabbit sounds with a slightly formal sound to them, like a soldier speaking... only it's a rabbit, so it just seems like a weird, stilted squeaking.

...Followed by a frustrated thump of his back foot against the ground. ]

[WOW OK THAT'S... SUPER FUCKEN WEIRD!!!! Unless friendly(?) rabbits are normal for here?!?! What does Rei know anymore.]

You're lucky I've gotten used to magical creatures here, otherwise I'd think you have rabies. [Ugh, why is he talking out loud to this rabbit??? God he's getting old.]

All right, let's see.

[Assuming that the rabbit is just hungry or something, Rei reaches into his pocket to see if he has anything to appease it. He pulls out his smokes... puts them in the other hand and keeps searching... pulls out Hypnosis Microphone... puts it in the other hand and keeps searching... here we go, the crackers he didn't eat this morning. Give him just a minute, Rioubun!]

[Lucky for Riou one of those companions happens to be walking by. Unlucky for Riou not once does Samatoki think to consider that the rust-colored rabbit he is looking at his comrade.

In fact, he barely glances at it, having adjusted some to seeing all the weird familiars and animals by now.

Samatoki hangs a left, heading toward the tavern where he works, he gets there a few minutes early and so the Yakuza props his back against the building, placing a smoke between his lips, a small sizzle and it's lit.

When the Rabbit hops up and begins tapping his leg the man blinks, looking down at it, he arches an eyebrow.]

Oi, what the hell, I ain't got no carrots.

[grylls]

[ He doesn't want carrots, Samatoki. >:( He looks rather disgruntled by this statement, thumping his foot rather impatiently. How to communicate with Samatoki...

He taps his leg again, then attempts to play charades to show him who it is. Riou the Rabbit begins shadow boxing in front of him, followed by a skillful somersault. Who else does Samatoki know who can do something like that?! ]

[He knows he's in magic land but when that bunny starts going into those theatrics, he arches an eyebrow. Then he barks with laughter, honestly, who does he know who could do that? No one, no one but Riou, and he figures, now this bunny.

Sadly, he has Elemental magic and one functioning brain-cell. So what he does instead of realizing this is his comrade, he crouches down, balls up his fist with a shit-eating smirk, still laughing and clearly joking because really, this is a rabbit, he is not going to fight a rabbit!]


Oh ya wanna fight huh? Hardly seems fair, I'm way bigger than ya.

M? [ He's watching the orange rabbit draw the letter with his paws, wondering what's that supposed to mean. ] Are you...Bunny M?

[ That's a weird name, but he's not sure what else could it mean. Or perhaps this is a warning? ]

You have to give me another letter, I think.

[grylls]

[ Riou hops over a few feet because writing with bunny paws is not easy.

In fact he can really only go in straight lines so this is what ends up written. Which probably wouldn't help even if he had fingers to help him write... ]

[ Fully concentrated, Akira's watching the lines and trying to figure out the letters ]

Lazy M? [ What's that second letter, then...? ] I wouldn't say you're lazy, huh...

[ Riou did go all the way to write this, after all. ]

Crazy M? [ Squints. ] You don't look feral or anything, though.

[Doppo was glad that no one else was around close enough to see Doppo get startled by a giant fucking rabbit but he'd never seen one that big. DID they get that big? Or was it someone's familiar? It looked too normal.]

...Huh??

[Definitely some sort of magic rabbit. They just didn't act like that. But what was it trying to say?]

A-are you trying to spell out your name?

[ The giant rabbit gives what is clearly a firm nod, standing at attention and waiting for Doppo to start making guesses. At the very least, he can nod as a rabbit. It is Doppo's turn to return the rescue. ]

[Oh. This rabbit understood human speech. That was a first, but it also made things a lot easier.]

Okay um, since you can answer yes or no.....
Are you someone's familiar? Or native to this world?

[ Karma looks over in surprise when he feels the bump against his leg, eyes up expecting a person who'd accidentally kicked him that he can yell at, but then looking perplexed as his gaze drops down to —oh god, this rabbit is as big as a medium sized dog. ]

Heh...

[ He goes to pick Riou up anyways, with surprising amount of strength for a 14-year-old, lifting him up from the middle so that he dangles in exactly the way you are not supposed to pick up a rabbit, with no hind leg support whatsoever. ]

Wow. This'll feed the whole hotel for days!

[grylls]

[ It is surprising, and normally, Riou would consider this kid's hunter's instinct to be spot on-- a rabbit this size would feed a lot of people, and Riou would definitely be happy to capture and cook it on his own.

But he's not really a rabbit, he's an ex-Navy Special Ops Sergeant/sniper/explosives expert/one-man-platoon/survivalist/rapper. Even as a rabbit, he's got enough moves to swing his feet forward with gusto and try to flip his upper half out from the underside of Karma's grip in a very.. un-rabbit like self-defense maneuver, particularly when he lands on his feet and glares the boy down. ]

[intrapid]

[ Very un-rabbit-like, especially the way the rabbit swings with its weight as momentum to get out of Karma's grip. He lets go, not wanting to be clawed by those hind legs that he knows is very capable of drawing blood even from the tiniest of rabbits, but what really cinches this creature as not being a real rabbit is the fact that it doesn't take the opportunity to run. ]

Huh... Are you somebody's familiar?
