What do you suppose they want?

[She asks this of someone as they walk by the front of her house, where Jane is once again outside trying to figure out why she can't get her windows and doors to stay closed for longer than ten minutes. One of the wisps has been flitting around her urgently for the last hour and she has not been ignoring it so much as she simply doesn't understand what it's trying to tell her.

After around twenty minutes of the thing appearing, all of the doors and windows of her home had begun to spontaneously open, and she is definitely suspecting the wisps.]

They're will o' wisps, aren't they? [Anyone with even half a brain cell dedicated to British folklore surely knows what a will o' wisp is.] I always heard that you ought not follow them, but these ones are terribly insistent.

[Her researcher's curiosity led her out here and of course that curiosity also leads her into trouble. Jane is unfortunately not the kind of person to always do as she's told even if she knows that it's for the best that she does, so it is no surprise that she doesn't manage to make the trip without incident.

She is watching over the side of the airboat when she spots something in the water - a shape, something like a person, a woman with flowing black hair just under the surface. Sure she can hear shouting for help, Jane leans a little ways over the side, peering down and assuming she must be making some mistake...

Then Jane herself lets out a piercing shriek as the thing in the water makes a grab for her and tries to pull her over the side. If anyone is close enough they might be able to save her just in time, but if not, the loud splash is all they're going to have to be able to track her down.]

Ohhhh this was a bad idea. Very bad.

[Now that she’s here, Jane would really just like to go back and she’s making this very obvious by her anxious pacing up and down the small docks of the village where the airboats pulled up to let them off. The young woman is wringing her hands and occasionally darting wary looks towards a group of young fae who are currently watching her sheepishly, after having scared her almost entirely out of her wits not ten minutes previously.

If someone could help her calm down, that would be great!

Later on, when she is more settled with the idea of being here for at least a little while, Jane becomes entirely keen to learn everything that she can about this curious place. Though the technology level creates some problems for her it isn’t anything she can’t overcome, and she’s entirely sympathetic to the problems being caused by the Fisher King’s presence in the marshes.]

It’s absolutely dreadful, [She might be heard saying, sighing to herself as a Malous fae she had been speaking to walks away after they’re finished conversing.] Sometimes it feels like us being here does far more harm than good.

For Jane, I am up for animal transformation, technology mishaps, and Jane is going to be something of a Struggling Artist in this humid marshy place, as much as she would like to capture its decaying beauty in her work.
