[ He’s done quests like this before - go in, capture what they’re assigned, and get out. He doesn’t ask too many questions. He keeps the jars in a backpack that he obtained specifically to make things like this easier. He doesn’t expect the quest itself will be easy, so he doesn’t underestimate anything about it. He’s not as fast or agile as he used to be, but he knows the magic gives him advantages he never had. He’s diligent as he spots his target and –

He moves slowly towards the other who has the same idea as he does. He doesn't want to surprise them, but he also doesn’t want to cause any fuss by making any unnecessary noise. He doesn’t actually know if they’re here to the same thing he is, so he will ask. ]

What brings you out here?

[It's not often Archer bumps into people while doing dark web quests, so he's sort of at edge since he's being talked to while on one. He looks at the guy, holding a bag that contains the jars he has.

They could be on the same mission or he could be working against him. He doesn't get a good read on the guy.]

I could ask you the same thing.

Work.

[ It's not, technically, a lie. The nature of the work; however, is not something he's inclined to share. And part of him suspects it's the same work. Louis knows that's enough reason to be careful with his words. ]

It's a quest.

[ He wants to find out for sure before he shares any more information. ]

That's also what I'm doing. A quest... even if not one of the top ones.

[If he catches on what he means.]

[ He seems to understand what this means, although he doesn't visibly relax. He knows better than to let down his guard. He especially isn't going to let down his guard around someone who does quests like these. ]

Same here.

[ He nodded his head towards the bag on his back with the supplies he needed. ]

Looks like we're going to the same place then. I don't run into many people doing these.

[ Which he sounds fine with, to be honest. Sometimes it's great to do quests with others, but he doesn't expect it. ]

[ He thought this quest would be simple: herd the animated snowmen into a freezer.

Boy was he wrong.

He knows that the entire situation was a mistake, and he was now wrestling with the task of figuring out how to bait a snowman into following him to a freezer. Their entire goal was to stay in the coldest of cold temperatures, and being outside wasn't going to be it. But it had to happen.

He sees a snowman attempting to make its way into someone's house and he calls out to it. But he thinks - maybe he should have recruited someone to come with him. ]

[Honestly, this really was a mistake. Minato understood that magic was... uh, wonky, right now. But this was just ridiculous. He and Kuro were ushering a snowman into a freezer after a lot of cajoling and outright growling from Kuro. His cheeks were pink from the cold and he tightened his scarf and little as he trudged back to where Louis was.

He saw the issue and quickly pulled off his glove to prick at his hand with a pin he kept on him at all times. As the blood beaded lightly, he forced more out to create a sort of wide, thin shape and used it to bar the snowman entrance to the stranger's home.]

Louis, can you get it to turn around? I don't think I can thicken the shield enough and the cold is making it brittle.

Ah - Minato.

[ He's glad to have him here to help; he's reliable and his magic seems useful. More-so than his own is here. He's already figured that shouting at these things isn't exactly the best way to get these guys attentions. But he m ight be able to get creative with what he has. ]

Thanks - yes. Working on that now.

[ He casts a brief blinding curse so that when they encounter the barrier, they may get disoriented and turned around. Then he'll call out so they can move towards his voice. ]

Hey - this way! We'll get you to where you want to be!

[Kuro even trotted over to where Louis was, barking to get their attention. Minato breathed a sigh of relief when they seemed to turn around and follow their voices. Once they were away from the barrier, he pulled back the blood enough to form a sword. Just to have something on hand for now. It also helped to prod the things if they tried to wander off.]

...I think I preferred being a Witch, honestly. Way more versatile.

[He didn't mind using his own blood, but honestly... doing the usual witchy thing was a lot more fun than figuring this out.]

Ah, you remember. Same, I could have handled this problem by now without any problems. But with the limits we each have, it's a bit more challenging.

[ Plus, how convenient was it to be able to experience all of the magic and pick what you wanted? It helped him find what he was good at and keep going from there. Of course, it made grasping magic here much easier now.

So it wasn't all bad. ]

We do have to be a lot more creative here.

Oh- um-

[Yup...there was definitely a snowman trying to make it's way through her front door as she was about to head out on some errands. What.]

Yes, of course, um, is this snowman yours??

[Just trying to nudge it out her doorway...]

[ That's a deer. Louis had not been expecting to see another deer at all. Especially not a female - if her voice is any indication. She must be a reindeer. It throws him off entirely for a moment and he doesn't answer right away when he probably should. After a moment of hesitation - ]

Oh. No. It's something on that quest board. Someone seriously messed up their magic. I'm working to lure it away but --

[ Alright, time to place another series of curses on this guy, he's going to disorient and make it dizzy so that it starts to wobble and redirect. ]

It's been particularly stubborn. A couple have been but this one's the worst.

Ah, that seems to be working- let me see if I can lure it to me, hold on.

[As it wobbled, she was able to work her way out the door, preparing to lead it away...but it was then she got a proper look at the person who'd been taking. He was another deer! Just like her!]

Oh...! Hello-

You're a deer.

[ Of course she knows that already? Why is he pointing that out? He watches the wobbly snowman as it finally starts to move away from any doorways. That's a big improvement - get it away from where it wants to be first, and then it's easier to direct it to where he wants it to be instead. ]

And that seems to be working now.

[ Louis holds several jobs in the city. He does quests and works hard at those, sure, but he also likes to work at various locations through the city. He can be found at Shining Karaoke or one of the many other bars in the city on occasion. He’ll be found acting as a bartender, cleaning tables, or serving drinks. He doesn’t like being bored, and he doesn’t enjoy down time - so he spends his time keeping busy.

So if he sees someone pondering a drink or looking over a menu, he’ll approach in between tasks and ask. ]

Do you want a recommendation?

[ He’s good at that part, he thinks. ]

[Ren has a day off so he's decided to stay at the Karaoke bar for some karaoke and drinks. He grins at Louis, hard at work. He has his eyepatch on, since he's still recovering from the Siege.]

Well, I would definitely like to try something new.

Hey, Ren.

[ The demeanor shifts a little - from purely professional to friendly smile. He nods. ]

I can do something new for you. Have something mind or want me to wing it?

Hmm... wing it. I'm feeling adventurous tonight.

[Usually he at least some kind of a preference, but not tonight so... have fun with making something.]

Alright, winging it - it is. I'll be back with a drink.

[ It's easy for him. Louis himself likes fairly simple and straightforward drinks that don't taste too strongly of alcohol. He decides on one he saw another bartender make called a negroni. He's careful - and even gets a perfect orange peel to add to the whole thing. After a few moments he'll return with a complete drink, bright colored and not too sweet like a lot of things he drinks himself. ]

I've seen someone make something like this on a couple occasions.
