Speed Dating & Friendshipping

WHAT'S UP?

Speed Dating & Frienshipping is a (player-run) Valentine's Event hosted by Ren Jinguji and Camus at Shining Karaoke, located in Camelot.

During both of these events, participants talk to all other participants. Everyone is given five minutes to ask questions before they bell rings and you move onto the next person.

The tables all have cards that include simple questions if someone is stuck on what to ask. Here are some examples of what kind of questions there might be. Of course Speed Frienshipping won't have any "shippy" questions or ones that could be implied as such.

Everyone is free to make Top Levels for their characters for before and after the events themselves for mingling, singing karaoke or anything! World's your oyster and so on.

Date? ( uh!!! wait. ) N-no, I just want her to try my curry! ( of course she does.

Elsa-san is very pretty... I'm sure she has a partner already.

[ Don't tell him about the girl you're complimenting that you're pretending you're not taking out on a date when you absolutely are and you assume she's not even available when you asked her out to dinner!! His spirit is crumbling. ]

Jesus, you don't need speed dating. You need to understand how dating even works in the first place. How could you be so clueless? I should've declined your offer of participation for everyone's sake.

I know how dating works! I've even dated in the past!

But that doesn't mean I'm looking for anything right now.

( she's here because she was signed up and she thinks she may as well meet people. no one she's spoken to so far has been overly focused on the dating part of speed dating anyway. )

[ Sakyo falls silent for a moment, but its not like angry silence. In fact with the look on his face it seems like he's completely forgotten about their entire argument. He seems genuinely startled.

And he feels so goddamn stupid about it. Of course she would have dated. Why the hell not? She's a grown woman. She's joyful, optimistic, passionate, always willing to engage with other people. Someone would be drawn to that sort of personality immediately. Just look at the way she wrangled up this circus of actors.

The little girl he used to know had to grow up eventually. And she did. And other people grew to love her. Of course. Of course something like that'd happen.

Of course someone else could fall in love with her. ]

( she expects... something. their bickering to continue. Sakyo to have some snarky response about her. the usual.

seeing him fall silent, staring at her in a way that has Izumi shifting in her seat, under the microscope of his gaze, is not on that list.

she thinks maybe I should give him a moment, and she does, but the silence doesn't break. )

Um... Sakyo-san?

( she's cautious as she reaches forward, as though approaching a stray cat, fingertips brushing his wrist ever so gently. is he okay? it's not like she confessed to having been married already (and, given her only dating experience up to now... no. they were right to call that whole thing off). )

[ Sakyo visibly flinches as she touches him, not because he doesn't like it, but he just thinks of her doing that exact gesture with someone else and its starting to make his stomach turn.

He's such a goddamn idiot. ]

This entire thing is stupid. I don't know why I bothered coming here.

[ He fusses with his glasses and stares at the table futilely before he starts to stand from his chair. ]

I'm getting myself water or, something. A drink. I don't know. I'll be back.

[ He's actually not sure if he wants to come back. It might be a bad idea to look at her any further for the night. He needs to take his mind off of this shitty experience and how stupid he feels right now. ]

Um... okay.

( there's a heavy stone in her gut, a familiar one. the one which says she's done something wrong and she doesn't quite know what or how to fix it. the temptation to run after Sakyo and the thought that maybe giving him space is better war with one another in the minute or so after his departure.

the bell sounds, the next person is supposed to turn up at her table, and Izumi is still craning her neck to try and catch a flash of that telltale blond.

S-sorry. I have to go.

( guilt twinges as she abandons her table, but if both she and Sakyo-san have left, then the numbers are still even. hopefully that person can find another partner, because she can't just leave whatever this was like this, can she? )

Sakyo-san? Sakyo-san? Where are you?

( man, this night turned out to be popular, which is not good for her attempts to find him. but she keeps on going, looking down the bar to see if anyone looks like him. if not, maybe... the bathroom? outside?
