Speed Dating & Friendshipping

WHAT'S UP?

Speed Dating & Frienshipping is a (player-run) Valentine's Event hosted by Ren Jinguji and Camus at Shining Karaoke, located in Camelot.

During both of these events, participants talk to all other participants. Everyone is given five minutes to ask questions before they bell rings and you move onto the next person.

The tables all have cards that include simple questions if someone is stuck on what to ask. Here are some examples of what kind of questions there might be. Of course Speed Frienshipping won't have any "shippy" questions or ones that could be implied as such.

Everyone is free to make Top Levels for their characters for before and after the events themselves for mingling, singing karaoke or anything! World's your oyster and so on.

[ Chrome tilts her head to the side. It's a long title for sure but isn't it a little confusing? Wouldn't a super cool dude already be popular? If he wants to be popular, then he probably isn't very cool. And there are just so many adjectives in there...

Regardless, Chrome just smiles. She doesn't have the heart to tell Taichi his title is a bit problematic.]

Yeah, over at Kaika Theater! At home, I'm Taichi Nanao of Mankai Company's Autumn Troupe!

Oh, so you perform here in Camelot?

[She might have to go see a play while she's here.]

Autumn Troupe? So each group is based on the seasons?

[arf]

Yeah! Here we have a smaller theater crew so we don't have individual troupes.. though we're getting bigger, maybe we should? I'll have to ask our director what she thinks. Anyway- Mankai back home has 6 members in each troupe, and 4 troupes named after each season with different personalities. Autumn excels at action scenes, Summer is super funny, Winter are all experts at mature dramas, and Spring really tugs at peoples' heart-strings with feel-good friendship stories! Obviously we all do stuff outside of those and everyone has individual talents and we even do cross-season plays together, but those are where we really shine.

[ He's happy to talk about theater all day, he'll keep going.. ]

[Taichi does seem pretty passionate about theater. They had a theater club in school, but she's never really been interested. Though, she can't help but feel a little curious about it now.]

Is the theater planning any productions at the moment?

We're always working on something! Do you like theater? What's your favorite genre?

[ Maybe he can recruit her.. he's never done a proper recruitment before...!! ]

[ Chrome is curious about it, but she doesn't think she'll be a very good actress, but...you never know.]

I don't know if I like it or not...but if it's anything like what I've seen then, probably anything with a fight scene and a...romance plotline?

[She flushes at that last part because it's embarrassing to say it out loud.]

Oh, man..!! You've got good taste. I love action and romance!

[ There is zero embarrassment as he declares this. ]

Do you watch romdrams on TV too?

[Oh good, so it's not as embarrassing as she thought. She nods her head. She didn't really take the time to watch them before, but she's been enjoying watching them with Kyoko and Haru. Now she's hooked!]

...sometimes, I'll watch them with my friends back home.

[ Since they have a common interest, she focuses on that.]

Do you have a favorite character archetype or favorite story device? I like when the main love interest has a dark and mysterious past. And I also like historical settings, too.

Right?? When the main guy has a dark side and the heroine has to accept him for who he is anyway, even if she struggles at first, and their love overcomes it before she gets kidnapped by the season finale by a man from his past! Things like that with high stakes leave me on the edge of my seat, and it makes it all worth it when they finally make it!

[ Taichi definitely seems excited to have someone to gush about his shows. ] Back home, Ten-chan is in a lot of shows like that. He was a TV and movie actor before he joined the theater. He's my rival now, actually! Though I'm pretty behind, one day I plan on surpassing him, so maybe you'll see me in one of those shows someday.
