WHAT'S UP?

Speed Dating & Frienshipping is a (player-run) Valentine's Event hosted by Ren Jinguji and Camus at Shining Karaoke, located in Camelot.

During both of these events, participants talk to all other participants. Everyone is given five minutes to ask questions before they bell rings and you move onto the next person.

The tables all have cards that include simple questions if someone is stuck on what to ask. Here are some examples of what kind of questions there might be. Of course Speed Frienshipping won't have any "shippy" questions or ones that could be implied as such.

Everyone is free to make Top Levels for their characters for before and after the events themselves for mingling, singing karaoke or anything! World's your oyster and so on.

[. . . Yupppp, Mikasa is absolutely a listener, who'll quietly keep watch all around any room or place for anything or anyone like a silent guard dog. And the worst or best part is that she has something like an eidetic memory, so she remembers everyone and everything all the time.

She can talk a lot whenever she really has something to say but most of the time she's a quiet and antisocial friend, who's silent so often that some people might think she never talks or that she can't even talk at all. She had a feeling, that the girl might be a listener too but who knows, could have been just a thing around strangers too.

The next question seems to surprise her. What is she--?? She generally looks like she's not passionate about anything with her emotionless poker face but of course that's just a way to bottle everything up. Mikasa fidgets her fingers nervously, what if she is too shy to answer this or what if she doesn't have an answer to this these days? Back in Titan Hell this would have been an easy answer even if she never said it there but everyone knew it--

Her right hand reaches her own left hand and Mikasa touches her engagement ring for a moment. A little help here, please? Damn, this sure seems to take a lot of time for her to think -- or it feels that way to her, it's just one of those moments where even a little moment feels like forever but actually, she does have an answer to that.]

Aside from wanting to have a peaceful and happy future with the one, who gave me this ring and our dogs and new kitten... Life. [ . . . Okay, so maybe that's too short and there's a beat before she continues.] There's so much to experience here from all the new places to cooking and baking all kinds of things, that I could never do where I'm originally from to -- everything else. This world can be really cruel but it's also really beautiful and full of its own amazing magic. I want to protect it and everyone here.

[ . . . Yeah. Sometimes she says a lot more than a few words and even after that she feels like she could say more and she definitely didn't mention everything there like friends (she doesn't have any/many here??? she misses those from Titan Hell...), gardening and whatever else that she's always doing in her free time.]

[ Chrome is also a quiet girl, though she's been learning to talk more. There are certain people she can talk longer with than others, but overall, she's still a girl of few words. Although unlike Mikasa, Chrome's face is very expressive. So while she might lack in words, her face usually gives away her thoughts.

She observes Mikasa as she struggles to answer the question. Chrome squirms in her seat, not wanting to make the other girl uncomfortable. She's already reaching over to select a different question if the silence persists, but there's no need for that.

The purple-haired mage listens to Mikasa intently as she explains she wants to protect her fiancé and her pets, and basically the life she's created here. Chrome smiles warmly because it's a great thing to be passionate about, and she kind of understands the sentiment. Even if she can't apply it to Avalon just yet, because she's still fairly new, she wanted to do the same thing in her homeworld. And automatically that same wish will carry on here.]

Congratulations! And that's a good ambition to have, I'm sure you'll see it through.

[ As for Mikasa's question, Chrome thinks on it for a moment to make sure her math is accurate.]

About a month or so...so I'm still getting used to everything.

[Oh, she's not uncomfortable at all! Sometimes it just takes her a (long) moment to figure out what to say, or think about the answer and then put her thoughts into words.

Yeah, she's been through some hell of a horrible times more than once, makes her appreciate even all the small things with peaceful life even more. It's a lesson from home a long time ago - choosing life and living, surviving and fighting instead of bad ending and it's nice, not having to choose it anywhere else everygoddamnday but she's always chosen that ever since her first meeting with Eren. And it really includes a lot -- her relationship, taking care of animals and people new experiences in life whether that's cooking and baking or somewhere else and so on. She even works at the animal shelter these days and almost feels like she's going more and more towards how she and her parents used to live in the mountains, when she was a little girl.

Her company is cute, especially when she smiles and Mikasa smiles warmly right back at her too.]

[or at least she'll do her best at it and that's all anyone can really ask from her. Either way, she's doing pretty great at it already by not just sitting at home and doing nothing.]

Oh. [Oh as in, wow, she's new, not that it's a bad thing or that there's any rush to getting used to anything here.] Yeah, it -- It's a lot to get used to, at first, even when me and him were in another world before arriving here over a year and a few months ago with all the other first arrivals.

[ Chrome has met quite a few people who have been here for quite some time. Somehow, she didn't expect the situation to last so long, but the freezing of the multiverse probably takes a long time to deal with.

Still, even though there's no rush, she feels an urgency to get to a point of proficiency. There are people from her world, who have been here longer and have a good grasp of their magic, so she wants to be helpful to them. She knows it will take time, but she can't help feeling anxious about it.]

So you were in another world before this one? I've heard other people say that as well. I guess it's not unusual to be pulled here from a different place from your homeworld?

[Hahah, Mikasa doesn't even want to go back to where she's originally from but the option to choose between staying in Empatheias or going there was nice and she wouldn't want anyone to be stuck here against their will... So she's also doing her best to help here.

She nods.]

Yeah, I was in a world called Empatheias, that also has its own magic. And yes, I've also heard of others arriving here, who've had that happen to them too. [There used to be even more of them.] It doesn't seem very unusual here, no, I don't think it was so common where I was before even though new arrivals arrived there about every month too.

[Every month? It sounds like some sort of pattern, but Chrome doesn't meditate on it too much. She knows the multiverse exists even before she came to Avalon, so the idea that there are other universes drawing in people from other worlds, shouldn't be so surprising. However, it's still weird to hear how people are able to world hop...just not by choice.]

Did it help you adjust better to this world since you've been to another world before, or does it still take you a while to get your bearings?
