Speed Dating & Friendshipping

WHAT'S UP?

Speed Dating & Frienshipping is a (player-run) Valentine's Event hosted by Ren Jinguji and Camus at Shining Karaoke, located in Camelot.

During both of these events, participants talk to all other participants. Everyone is given five minutes to ask questions before they bell rings and you move onto the next person.

The tables all have cards that include simple questions if someone is stuck on what to ask. Here are some examples of what kind of questions there might be. Of course Speed Frienshipping won't have any "shippy" questions or ones that could be implied as such.

Everyone is free to make Top Levels for their characters for before and after the events themselves for mingling, singing karaoke or anything! World's your oyster and so on.

[ Ssh, Chrome, it's okay, Minako knows that it can be nerve-inducing to be sitting at a table across the goddess of love and beauty herself..!

But she's just smiling. Maybe a bit too enthusiastic about this whole deal, but that's Minako - always way too enthusastic about everything. ]

Hmm.. I guess watching a good romance movie? You know, when you're all cuddled up on the couch, and you've got some good snacks and a super sappy movie! It makes things all nice and super cozy, you know? Have you done it before?

A romance movie?

[She thinks about it. Chrome likes the idea of romance, but she doesn't believe she's sat down and watched a romance movie or tv series. Though she's open to it.]

I haven't, but I might give it a try. Usually, when I want to treat myself, I'll splurge on a slice of cake or take a nice hot bath.

Well, cake is pretty good too!

[ Minako sure isn't going to deny that. Something about her gaze is getting a little dreamy already at the very idea of cake..

.. hmm.. sweet, soft cake.. delicious. ]

But even cake can't beat romance movies in my heart! There's nothing better than that fuzzy and warm feeling you get in your chest when you watch the two people in the movie finally kiss after such a long development of their love! [ You know, "long."

As in, probably an hour of it at best. But that's an eternity to a girl with an attention span like Minako's. ]

[ Most girls seem to like sweets, but they also like romance, too. Chrome had never really been interested in it before she met someone who changed her life. So Minako's description hits a little close to home. Chrome's cheeks flush a little, it's not like she can relate to it or anything. Definitely, not!]

Kiss...you say?

[ She shakes her head. It's impossible! But maybe she can live out her unrequited love through romance movies. Chrome finds it a good time to change the subject.]

...Um I think it's my turn again. If you have friends coming for supper what would you cook?

[ Wow, Chrome, look at you quickly and subtly changing the subject over here!

Either Minako doesn't notice or she just decides to go along with it for the sake of the other's precious little heart though, because she doesn't remark on that. She just answers the question instead. ]

I don't think that'd happen! [ She laughs. ] I'm a terrible cook, I wouldn't subject them to that.

[ .. probably. ]

I guess I'd rather take them out to some fun place to eat instead?

[ Chrome is grateful that Minako doesn't inquire about it. She'll be as red as a tomato if she has to explain.

She listens to Minako's reply and gives her a sympathetic look. Not everyone is good at cooking and that's fine.]

So where would you take them to eat? A trendy place or something tried and true?

Oh, I kind of like the sound of something trendy! You know, because it's new and fun?

[ And Minako is always all about both of those things. ]

I like being a little adventurous! Just going to the same place over and over might get boring after a while.. And you never know when you might find your next favourite dish at a new place! [ She smiles. ] How about you?

That's true! I like trendy things too, it's fun to try something new every now and then, but personally...I'm a creature of habit. I don't mind eating the same things over and over, especially if I can stick to my budget.

[ Living without her parents has taught her how much each cent counts.]

Were you known for anything in school?

[ .. Stick to her budget?

It makes Minako pause. Only briefly, so it doesn't seem too weird, but it sure makes her think for a moment whether Chrome is talking about this place, or if she already had to make ends meet by herself back home..

She doesn't mention anything about it out loud though. It seems like the most tactful thing to do here. Instead she distracts from it by giggling deviously. ]

Hehe, what do you think I was known for in school?

[ MINAKO, PLEASE.. Don't drop that question into someone's lap during a speed friendshipping round!! ]

[ Chrome didn't want to make any assumptions, and she didn't have many friends in school until recently. But Minako seems like she encourages her to state the most obvious answer...at least obvious to Chrome.]

I guess people would say you're very pretty and...you're popular?

[Is she right????]

Of course, of course!

[ .. except Minako wasn't popular at all, considering she was always away from other people due to her work as a sailor soldier, even before she joined her group of sailor soldier friends.

But that's such a depressing thing to bring up during a speed friendshipping event, so of course she doesn't say any of it. Instead she just nods at Chrome, widely smiling. ]

Speaking of pretty, though.. you know, I think you've got a real cool, unique look going for yourself as well! You look really trendy in your own way!
